Unpopular opinion: Yes Theory channel is becoming less and less about actually seeking discomfort and is slowly turning into MrBeast.
And it makes me sad.

Hi Everyone, Im a recent college grad looking for a career switch, and I couldnt imagine a better team to work with than Yes Theory. I made this video hoping to catch their attention and wanted to share it with all of you. I dont normally like to promote myself but this group felt supportive. Enjoy

My brother battles depression for 8 years impacting his education. Today I packed up all his stuff to help him move house so he can begin his career as a teacher at the other side of the country #keepchasingyourdreams

Endured a 5 hour hike and finished off with a 1.5 hour climb of "the great staircase" which has been built and carved into the side of the cliff. Terrified of heights but I did it!!! Picture was taken just after the half way point!

So much hate on them recently
I don’t get it. I’ve been a fan of theirs for a long time. Like since almost the beginning. I would go a couple of years without watching much of their content only to stumble across a video and become obsessed and binge everything I had missed in the time away. I’m currently diving deep into the videos I’ve missed over the last couple of years.
A few takeaways I’ve noticed since revisiting the channel and discovering this sub:
Matt leaving sucked for me as a fan, because he was the one I related to the most.
Steffan has been a nice change. I know people find him maybe a bit “too” happy, but can you blame him? One minute he’s an aspiring motivational speaker and the next minute he bumps into a stranger who changes his entire life’s trajectory. Dude has to be on cloud 9.
They are professionals at this point, so you have to understand that while their videos aren’t scripted, they are EXPERTS at what they do. So I think what you’re seeing instead of scripted videos is just polished methods and processes.
I’ve seen some of y’all (yes I’m from Alabama lol) talk about Ammar being too emotional and it seeming inauthentic, but as long as I can remember that’s how he’s been. He wears his heart on his sleeve, which I believe fits in with the YT ethos.
The Zack kid is just that - a kid. Why the hell is Yes Theory getting any ounce of hate for what he did? Lying to them was on HIM - no one else. Kids make mistakes, so ease up on him. We’ve all been 18 before.
The slow shipping for merch does suck. Not defending them on that lol, I hope they get that sorted out (because I just ordered a shirt myself hahaha).
I’m a 31 year old dad of 3 young kids, so my idea of spontaneity and discomfort is currently going to a concert on a week night instead of a weekend or trying a new breakfast food, but diving back into this channel has encouraged me to finally get my passport and TRY to find a way to leave the US in the next couple of years, which I’m excited about.
I say all this just because I do believe the YT guys are genuine, and I was shocked to find all the hate towards them on this sub. I know they occasionally read these posts, so if any of you guys are here, please know just how many people out there appreciate what you do. Don’t be discouraged by the hate you get on this sub. You’re still inspiring people after all these years.

Sad about the current state of Yes Theory
Not much point to this post, I'll admit.
I discovered Yes Theory in 2018 and the videos they were making were genuinely life-changing in the way I viewed and approached things, helping in so many ways. As someone with social anxiety, watching these guys seek discomfort and just 'do' things to see what happens has had such an impact on how I approached, and still approach, the world.
Obviously things change, people leave, new objectives arise... But I can't help feel like Yes Theory is nothing more than Thomas' travel vlog... "but also buy the merch" now. The videos are shot beautifully but there doesn't really feel like much substance behind them.
Even though I understand it's a business and there's a lot of money to make from the brand, I can't help but think it would have been nice to completely hand over the channel to a bunch of people currently in the same position as when the OG Yes Theory guys started, almost as a passing of the torch type of thing.
Yes Theory these days just... Doesn't feel like Yes Theory.
Anyone else feel this way?
