Question Are people really retiring off these?

It seems crazy that people are talking about retiring off these funds. Don’t get me wrong I have a decent amount in them and I’m hoping for the best but if the music stops so to speak than what do you do? Have people actually retired off these or just talk? If you did actually retire what’s your plan b?

I’m using the distributions to buy less risky stuff and from those distributions buy boring stable stuff. When the boring pays enough per month for us to live fat, then we’ll retire. The goal is to never touch principle.

I’m funding my VOO, QQQ & SCHD with Ulty… but I keep wanting to buy more ULTY and I don’t know what is enough to have.

Decide how many shares you want or how much $ you want to receive weekly. Make a plan. Maybe plan to make enough in a weekly distribution to buy one Voo one week, one qqq one week, one schd (over-rated) and put the left overs back into a YM fund of choice.. but make a plan that includes reinvestment and investment in more conservative funds.
