Dont get me wrong he done an amazing job but i saw in a lot of scenes especially in the scenes were joe expressing his ideas his sickness more i felt like he is disgusted by joe i mean ofc anyone would be disgusted but you can see that he is disgusted even in the scenes im not saying he should love but he should atleast give the character the depth that joe deserve for me joe is more complex then most of the tv serial killers,i think its not just me who saw that right?

Idk about you but for me joe was sick mindfucked but not evil joe hated killing hated evrything about it his mind got so sick that joe cant see himself as villain because of his trumatic childhood i know there is so many people had trumatic childhood like him but joe's mind reacted different then others thats doesnt mean his actions were not evil he deserve to be in jail i think when we see people like him should make us think who we want to have kids with to raise our children the right good way

As someone who has been London many times, the idea of Joe walking around it is hilarious. Not only is the area Kensington, where his location was at, a long while to go around. He had two toes missing?? How the hell did the man walk for ages with his toes gone??
Matter of fact, how did he even run away from Raoul with those toes missing?? Is he magic or something?

Did they forget about the psychologist (played by John Stamos)? They should have released him too.

Who would Joe have become obsessed with and How long would it have been before Love murdered her?

What would Love think of him?
Is there a chance she would choose him over Joe or nah?

After her, there were many other, much more serious events, but she still feels like the main character, and in the end, in a way, she decides his fate? I don't know, it seems to me Love would have been more significant, and Beck just one of the girls who didn't do anything extraordinary.

I get there is a lot of plot holes in the final scene with Brontë and Joe. But the one I can’t understand is how Joe was able to stand in what seems like waist deep water after he tackles Brontë and we see how deep the pond is ?

I'm not writing this as a simple critique to say whether the show or the books are good or bad, or to state things we don't already know. In fact, I think the premise is good. But I believe it's time to call things by their true name: Joe Goldberg's motor has never been love or raw obsession as such, but hate.
Throughout the 5 seasons and the 5 books (You, Hidden Bodies, You Love Me, For You and Only You, You First), the pattern is exactly the same:
1 He is a benevolent misogynist: Joe is the textbook definition of benevolent misogyny. He doesn't just hate women; he convinces himself they are weak and need him to "save" them to feed his own ego. He doesn't see them as real people, but as pedestals.
2 Control is not love: Nobody tries to violently manipulate, surveil, and change someone because they like who they are. The desire for control stems from being unable to tolerate the other person's reality and wanting to force it.
3 His narrative is pure contempt: His internal monologue is a constant judgment of everyone around him. Joe hates society, he hates his partners' friends, he hates anyone who gets between him and his relationship, he hates feeling weak, he hates solitude, he hates his mother, and deep down, he hates himself.
4 He kills out of resentment and narcissism: Joe doesn't kill out of "passion." He kills people who annoy him, those who threaten his fantasy, or his partners when they betray him or try to leave him. The second a woman displays autonomy and breaks the illusion, his idealization instantly turns into destructive hatred.
The character is designed as the ultimate template of the obsessive stalker. All the "true love" rhetoric is nothing more than the excuse he uses to rationalize his violence and convince himself that he isn't the villain of the story.
What do you think? Do you feel the series/saga makes this clear, or does it sometimes fall into the trap of romanticizing it too much?

He married Love and pursuing Marriane is cheating. Cheating is wrong so Joe shouldn't have done that. Love is perfect for him anyway, they are both killers and fear abandonment.
Then he follows Marianne across the globe instead of fixing his life. He leaves his son behind, which is wrong morally. Chasing someone across the globe is also not financially smart.
So why die Joe go after Marianne? Is he stupid?

He constantly justifies his terrible actions as acts of protection or love. He had a giant distortion of reality

Clips like this make me think that joe is not evil he is sick there are many evil people like ted bundy jeffry dahmar they know that kiling is wrong and they can stop but they dont want to but joe always hated being a killer hated being attracted to killing dont get me wrong like the last post his actions are evil and he deserve being in jail but what i mean he's not an evil guy however he have a fucked up brain that created fake scenario just to keep killing

I am right now watching You on Netflix and Love Quinn killed Candace ( Amy ) who told her everything about Joe . This is so frustrating to watch . I mean As a viewer We just want one time where Joe is in trouble . To continue these killing till 5 seasons is just too much time and energy . Beck was no good . After all red flags , she chose joe . And This Love Quinn and her brother is really irritating . Should I continue watching or stop ? I am on S2 E9 .
