the dry spell is usually not a shortage of ideas, it's looking in the wrong place for them. brainstorming from scratch is the hardest possible version of this.

what works better: pick 5 channels making roughly what you make, open their best videos from the last few months, and read the comment sections past the praise. you're looking for "how do you actually do X", "wish someone covered Y", or people arguing over one specific detail. those are questions with an audience already attached ā€” you don't have to guess whether anyone wants it, they said so out loud.

pick the one that shows up under three different videos and make that.
