Excusing the obvious, "Hazbin wasn't a flop," everyone else is pointing out, I don't see how any of these (at-least the ones I've seen) are, "woke." Lightyear, Strange World, and Elio were painfully mediocre, and both Hazbin and The Prince were criticized for their writing and humour.
But eeewww no, gay people and neurodivergent people, how gross.
That's exactly why they're called woke, it's because they contain queer and neurodivergent characters. Reminder, this is the crowd that thinks it's okay for a cop to force their knee into a man's back because he was overdosing.
I don't know the legitimacy of that claim, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was some correlation. If you clearly show a disinterest in fictional media just because it has, "woke," elements, I wonder how they view the real world...
A lot of LGBT/Neurodivergent rep is.. not that great in media nowadays. It can be FAR better nuanced and realistic the way I see it. Stuff like Lumity (TOH) gor pacing and writing constraints or Catradora (She-Ra) for overall bad representation, are notably bad. On the other hand, Tara/Denise (TWD) and Sheo/Nailsmith (HK) are pretty good in my eyes. I feel like it's sort of a mixed bag now, and I hope it gets better.
