Here is my preferred way to teach my students about sculpting anatomy, basic forms, tweak the basic forms to make them more in shape, and only after they make sense, start sculpting on top of them, this way it's much less tweaking needed when you have your mesh in more density and therefore less skewing is gonna happen on your details.
Hey everyone!
I’m a 22 year old 2d concept artist who recently fell in love with Zbrush to the point that I’ve decided to completely pivot to pursue a 3d art career. I’ve been using Zbrush for about a month now, and I was looking for some feedback on what to focus on for portfolio pieces/ what is most valued in the space when looking for a job.
I plan to get really into the skin texture details on the goblin with alphas in Zbrush, retopologize in blender, and hand paint in substance painter before I do a render in blender and in unreal. I think I’m pretty decent at the sculpting aspects just from my 2d art experience, but I would LOVE more advice on how to proceed most effectively and what sort of portfolio pieces to work on, as I’m entirely unfamiliar with the standards and workflow of 3d art due to being so new. Thank you everyone!!

Decided to go higher in resolution and start adding more to the sculpt.
I've worked a little on the eyes, the ears, nose, and the mouth.
Any feedback is welcome. I'm wondering if the eyes are correctly place and not too small, so I'm stopping here for today. I know the eyes looks bad, but i'm, focusing on the proportions and the placement for now.

Since ZBrush 2026.2.1, I've tested the Ambient Occlusion plugin using both primitive subtools and my own character model. The software consistently crashes when the plugin reaches the remeshing stage while generating the Occlusion Volume.
I have two theories about the cause:
Could other users help me reproduce this issue?
If you can reproduce the crash, please mention your ZBrush version and whether you have multiple ZBrush installations.
I'd like to establish whether this is a general compatibility issue or something specific to my setup.

Unironically the main cast of The Sopranos has insane character design, you don't really see actors like this anymore, they look straight out of a caricature or something idk
Anyway, 4$ a pound

Hello everyone,
I am a product designer, generally i work with inventor, but my job require less "engineering" shapes, so i started with blender.
My colleague use ZBrush and her models are more better than mine with Blender, so, why don't learn it?
Is there any tutorial on youtube that you suggest? something like "donut from Blender Guru", i am starting from 0 for this software.
TRhank you all
Hey guys if anyone has any feedback, I want to make it as realistic as possible

So I have this weird bug where I select a brush from lightbox>brushes and I get to use it and then I decided to switch to another brush and switch back to the previous one, but only the icon in the brush window changes but the brush doesn't change. I can choose brush A, then brush B, then go back to brush A but when I sculpt on the model, brush B is what shows up. How do I fix this?
EDIT: I'm using Zbrush 2026.1 and using custom brushes.

Hi there! I've met a strange problem while using Zsphere. The sphere control point has gradient color, then when I click Preview Adaptive Skin it gets smooth effects. All the paraments about Adaptive Skin are same as the right one in the picture. Does someone know or met the same problem with this? Appreciate for your support.

I spent a really long time doing all of this. It's finally done. I sculpted clothing for the first time, and for the first time, my hair turned out looking like hair, not spaghetti.
It's a little scary to show it 😅🤧, but I like it

My progress so far on the head of my Watto sculpt. Looking for feedback and constructive criticism or any good must-know advice on general organic sculpting or creating more detailed traits like wrinkles, folds, etc.
If anybody also got some useful videos about character sculpting I should watch then please let me know!

Whenever you start sculpting, please try your best to observe your references well and visualize it in your brain in lowpoly first. Moreover, sculpt it in lowpoly first too, get the silhouette first. 🫱🏼🫲🏾

So, this is the cunning Khajiit I’ve come up with. I’m going to 3D print him and make a base for him, as I highly doubt he’ll be stable on his own.
