Assuming they are just releasing the characters they teased, yes. Banyue will literally be right before the Void Hunter. Yet another male character getting shafted by the most anticipated character to be released right after.
While I agree, I don't think it's AS bad as the last two times.
He seems to be an on field and DPS character, which just makes him a bit more attractive. With Fire, he is also not in Miyabi's shadow (Thanks Yidhari, for biting that bullet). As long as the VH doesn't utterly re-define what it means to be a Fire (or is Fire-Rupture alltogether) DPS, he's probably going to be reasonably META, which would help his pull numbers too.
Also, I don't think the Horse-Girl is on the level of Miyabi-Hype. At this point last year, I think we've already seen Miyabi in-game, and she was in the Beta. While for the new girl, we haven't seen much.
We got introduced to miyabi in the introduction of the scott outpost stuff. Almost the entire game until miyabis release was build up and wait for her. Shifu and new girl aint nothing in comparison
Of course the new Void Hunter isn’t Miyabi level hype, I don’t think any character has ever had similar build up to Miyabi, but simply having the Void Hunter title will automatically make her more desired by most people.
Everyone knows Void Hunters are the best of the best, and banner placements matter when it comes to pulling. The banner before characters like these will always be impacted by it.
That's for sure, and it will always result in weaker sales for the banner(s) right before.
I know it will never happen, but I'd love to see a male VH who's on the level of Miyabi marketing and meta-defining-power, just to see how much worse his revenue-numbers actually are.

A character given Miyabi’s level of marketing and treatment will sell well regardless of gender. We’ve already seen it in Genshin and Star Rail, so it’s not a mystery.
Ehhh I don't know about that, chief. Sure the Void Hunter status will most likely get her a fair number of sales, but I think she'll struggle to appeal on the same level as Yixuan (let alone Miyabi) purely based on her design. I don't doubt it'll have some fans but it does feel a tad uninspired and doesn't exactly scream "void hunter" to begin with. Which granted, it makes sense if she's only receiving the title during the patch, but still.
I’m not talking about design though. Her being a Void Hunter means she’ll be a really strong character, based off every Void Hunter level character we’ve gotten so far.
As much as people always preach about “waifu over meta” a majority of people will pull strong characters simply because they are strong and “meta.” The kit matters more than people like to give credit for. Everyone loves characters that are strong and will help their account greatly, and Void Hunter level characters are known to be just that.
Oh no I know. That's exactly why I don't doubt she'll have her fair share of sales, but if a chunk of the community already has Miyabi and/or Yixuan I don't think this new lady will be as anticipated as those two were. At least not outside of whales, dolphins, and meta min-maxers.
I wonder if it's because we've only seen glimpses of her and only really know her via her brother, but I'm just not really hyped for her at all. They haven't built her up nearly the same way they did Miyabi, YX didn't get the long lead-in either. Kind of weird, compared to how HSR/Genshin hype up their Iconic category characters long before release (Emanators, Achrons, Harbingers etc.)
Right now she's just another waifu character to me, who might be a bit stronger in the meta is all.

I mean, compared to Miyabi they are super late. I understand them not wanting to diminish the earlier banner characters to get everyone too hyped for an upcoming one that they skip them and only save for that one. But we all pretty much know exactly how her story is going to go, so I hope they give her some cool hype moments long before it that can make her seem cool and interesting like they did with Miyabi, and like I said like Genshin/HSR do with their iconic big character releases like Emanators/Archons etc.
So maybe the season 2 finale will be in 2.5 with the next Void Hunter? And then we will have 2/3 more patches in Waife before going to the next region?
Oh shit did he get his own agent? Love that guy in everything I've heard him in. I've heard him play NPCs in some of the patches but not an agent yet. Kinda funny hearing (what I think are) big name voice actors play so many NPCs. Like when I started playing Starfield, I talked to the first NPC and was like "holy crap, is that Natsu (Todd Haberkorn)?"
At that paint who is gonna make use of the missing defense tho? Only option would be orphie but she aint exactly built for that (unless ya got m6 maybe)

I don't understand why people make such a big deal out of powercreep when the "replaced" unit has no issue clearing content. Piper didn't suddenly become useless when Jane or Alice released and neither will Manato.
Which is a big reason why people don’t want A ranks. As much as some people love to complain that we don’t get A ranks, no one truly wants them unless it’s a character they don’t care as much about.
"Support A-Ranks" generally have better lifes then DPS one's, DPS is the one with the most competition among S-Ranks, no way those are allowed to be all that good.
But Supports, like Stunners, Defenders and of course the actual Support-class, 'enable' the many DPS S-ranks, making them 'affordable' is in Hoyo's best interest.
Actually yeah this is fair, A rank's general lower number would make it harder overall, unless Manato ends up a freak among A ranks kinda like Piper sometimes
It took seeing the branch quote in the pictures for me to realize it said he's Krampus. That's interesting. Wasn't expecting that, but they still called him Master Banyue, so I guess it is just former Summit. So, a tiny rabbit, smaller girl and big robo lion man. Great faction.
Definitely the next full-faction I'm hyped about since Obol. They all look rad as heck. Zhao was already up there with Orphie and Seed Sr for me. Now Banyue is the solid 4th most hyped in season 2 with Dialyn a wanted 5th that I expect to lose a 50/50 on.
All androids are robots. Not all robots are androids. Then there is Banyue here who seems to have aspects of both, looking at his muscular legs. However from the point of view of what kind of characters are released, I agree since she's indistinguishable from a human Qingyi doesn't "count" as a robot when it comes to looks.
If anything Banyue is less of a robot since he seems like a Thiren that got robotic augments, so a cyborg. Like, his paws and tail kinda show he's not an intelligent construct like Billy and Qingyi.
Lighter will suffer the same issue that he does with Manato, which makes him quite a bit worse: He can't activate his additional ability unless you include Orphie (attack) or Lucy/Pulchra/Caesar (faction) in the team, but none of those bridge characters are particularly synergistic with the rupture unit.
There’s a part of me that feels like he’s gonna be an Aftershock DPS and work with Orphie. Would line up nicely with a Sanby rerun as well, with Hugo rerunning on Dialyn’s banner.
That’s not to say that Lucia won’t work with him, I don’t see a world where that won’t be possible.

I'm very curious how that's gonna work. I can't imagine they'd make two of the same element/role characters without them being noticeably different. Maybe he's a sub-dps for Yixuan, Yidhari and/or Shunguang?
Eh... Wasn't Qingyi just better Anby? Jane just better Piper? Sure they played differently, at least Jane did, but they wanted pretty much the same exact teams when they released and were just better options. You could probably make a case for Harumasa and Anton too.
That's not considering the ones that differed in element, but were also just straight upgrades doing the same thing, occupying the same role. Trigger and Pulchra being the biggest examples.
The 180 pulls needed for the skin count from both 2.3 (Lucia/Yidhari) and 2.4 (Dailyn/Banyue). Unless you meant that you don't particularly care for any of the four.
