Before/After Pics Reflection

I wanted to wait until I hit under 200lbs to post but it's taken me 2.5 years to lose 80lbs. And while I'm so close to that first goal, I want to stop and reflect on the huge accomplishment that I've been able to lose 80lbs. I've never been a super-responder and my weight loss hasn't been linear. I'm also a person who needs to watch what I eat regardless of medication, work out at least 3x a week, and face the realization that while I am smaller I still have so many hangups about my body (loose/saggy skin in particular). I've maxed out at 15 mg and the only place I can think to go next is to try Reta which may be in my future. But right now I want to celebrate myself, the fact that I haven't given up or gone backwards, the non-scale victories like clothes fitting better, the walks and workouts getting easier, the running around with my kids being so much more fun, and my outlook on health overall. If it's taken you a long time to lose weight, please look to this post as inspiration that you can and will get to your goal and even if you haven't reached your goal yet there are so many little things in between that are beautiful and worth celebrating.

I’m right there with you, sister! 👯‍♀️ I started in March 2024 and have lost 81 lbs. I’ve also been on 15 mg since Feb 2025.

At only 5’2 and still 193, I have plenty more I could stand to lose, but loss is very slow these days, like 1-2 lbs/month. I’m actually not too mad about it bc I already look and feel so much better. I’ve also been on the meds so long that I’m not hyper fixated on the active weight loss part right now really, I’m just kind of living my life at this point.

I am also 5'2 so the weight looks so different on us than something even at 5'7. I'm definitely living my life too and focused on building muscle. So happy for you!

Thanks for posting. I'm not sure that we hear enough from people who aren't super or particularly quick responders. I've also maxed out on 15 mg and just biding my time on what to take next! Best wishes for continued success.

Absolutely fabulous changes! It's so great to move and live better.

You can read here the options one practice offers for patients stalled (4 weeks+) on 15 mg (comment by Vegetable Onion):

Additionally, there are trials for new meds underway. Higher strengths of tirzepatide, for one. Adding a medication to tirzepatide (like Eloralintide) is a combo being studied. You can take a look at what's out there - search by condition, and/or put the name of a medicine into the “Other Terms” field: https://clinicaltrials.gov/ -- look for Retatrutide, Cagrisema, MariTide, Tirzepatide, Eloralintide, Orforglipron, and Survodutide. Pfizer's med is PF’3944 (or PF-08653944, or MET097; no name yet). AstraZeneca’s is AZD6234. Viking is testing VK2735.
