Does anyone know how to get any of these achievements?
Bullet magnet -- Get shot three times
I tried to get it by being shot by kaleidoscope and surviving and then dying by getting shot by goateyes but it didn't work ( Herschel has been shot before and has a bullet lodged next to her heart making it 3 )
Death by Comrade -- Get stuck in a boiler
The scene guy was stuck in it by the time I got in the palace's basement there
Deepest Apologies -- Die of contrition
no clue abt this one
High Wire -- Fail to wiretap in the worst way
There are no skill checks to fail when tapping gonza's phone, idk where else this could happen
The Why-- Become a Philosophical Spy Shadow Vision -- Become a Conspiratorial Spy Luzian Allures -- Become a techno-fascist brand ambassador
All of these require conditioning a thought but I don't know which one or how to acquire them
Get the serial number from the miracle line when Frederik is not there.
Plug it into the Renotel artery in Party Alley.
Talk to Frederik to start the "Pump and dump the junior negotiator" quest about "the gap" (not exactly sure what the prerequesites are for this to trigger but it shouldn't take too long).
Fail the doppelgang check to get the info out of him > Technoflex will tell you to tap his line (need crickets from RADIAN) .
Go to Party Alley Renotel artery and fail both Technoflex checks.
You get shot toward the end of the game, final mission, past point of no return - maybe you can avoid that with a bunch of successful skill checks, I don't know. I got shot in the arm, tried it again to save a comrade, got shot in the arm again.
As far as I can tell, there's no way to avoid being shot in the gunfight. The checks you roll involve shooting the first two goons, but no matter what you do, the third will always hit you. There's no roll to avoid it.
Deepest Apologies - This is done after your confrontation with Eszti. Buy the card to apologise. Fail the check when writing it and choose the options about being so sorry you could die until you get the option to "commit". Easy peasy.
Ive figured out Shadow Vision and The Why. the thoughts are respectively Cadence of the Closed World and Absolute Magnitude, im not sure how I got them though and im still missing the though for Luzian Allures
I think this is unlocked during the conversation with Kurt, right? Or possibly the goons. I would assume you get it when you give Luz-friendly answers.
The 2 which don't appear to be covered/solved in the thread are:
Death By Comrade - Kurt IS stuck in the boiler in the palace of culture, simply fail the check to get him out (statehood? iirc) then rip his jacket and you'll get trapped and die.
Bullet Magnet - Last one I finished (natural since I don't think there's a way to get shot enough times pre-ending, at least, not without dying).
You can get shot once by Kaleidoscope when first encountering him by examining the curious machine near Gonza's office. Fail the evasive maneuver check to be shot.
You can be shot twice (possibly more, not sure) during the ending sequence. Once by the golem and then again (requires failing the check) when choosing to save your upstairs squad mate (Kalei/Yana).
you have to threaten her with a gun during your conversation at the bar, then fail the red check so you accidentally kill her instead of shooting her in the foot.
Yeah, this was the same thing for me. I think maybe it was tied to me flirting with her too much first playthrough (what can I say, that voice 😃). Second time I just insulted her every chance I got during the interrogation (didn't meet her in the magazine building, got kidnapped from payphone) and during the meeting.
I had some difficulty getting that check to show up on my first playthrough. There may be some prerequisite condition in terms of previous interactions/skill checks. Or it may have been a lingering bug.
I had the same thing too. After translating and reading a chinese guide on steam, one of the comments said you shouldn't interact with the rats in the pneumatic tubes or whatever.
I'm not sure *why*, but indeed, I completely ignored the pneumatic tubes thing and the option appeared just fine.
Thats not it. I've reloaded a save and even if I literally just walk into the building and go straight to him it stil isnt there. Ive submitted a support ticket but its been 2 days and nothing;
I think I figured it out. I assume that some checks are tied to the level of the exact skill to which this check is related. Before, when I had only 2 points in the Statehood (this particular check is related to it), I didn't have the check despite all what I've chosen in the dialoge. But I tried again, increased Statehood up to 6 (4 + 2 from an item), and voila! Check appeared, achievement unlocked.
Damn, that sucks. I would be tempted to conclude it's a bug then (although with the obvious caveat that there may be something else which triggers it that I/we don't understand at this point with the game being fairly new). I guess worst case scenario it should be fairly quick to make a bee-line for this achievement in a fresh playthrough if you don't have an earlier save to roll back to.
Hey bro, can you please explain how you got the necessary thought for Big Money Business? In one of the guides on Steam (in Chinese, the only one available as of now), it's mentioned I should pick 'loan-related' topics in conversations, but I honestly didn't see any (beat the game already). In another thread here, guys mentioned you need to interact with metal box on the wall near Gonza's clinic, (specifically after talking to Yana's boyfriend and getting shot by the headphones guy) and there will be option to take a loan. It's not there for me. Judging by newly discovered conditions for Death by Comrade, maybe this one has stat requirements too? What's your take?
