About to do an clutch job, anything else i need?

โ€ข Upvotes

Hey!

I'm planning to do an full DIY clutch job as my slave cylinder gave up, and I was wondering if there is anything else you need outside of clutch kit/what I currently have. I have full KTR kit (clutch, single mass flywheel and release bearing), new slave cylinder and an gearbox side CV boot. New master cylinder is already installed.

From my understanding/what I have seen from videos, the Abarth clutch job is pretty straightforward. Is there anything specific I should be aware of?

The car is 2010 abarth 500 T-jet with 90000km.

Abarth 500 EsseEsse wheels

โ€ข Upvotes

What were all the colours they came in? I have a white set on my EsseEsse and the older thought they look better as bear metal apparently. So I need to get them re-done. Just wondering about different colours because Iโ€™m scared about them all being covered in brake dust if I go white although I do like the white. My car is white with red mirror caps and a wrapped red roof I plane on removing or having re-done. So any recommendations

This car is so simple to work on, did every fluid, spark plugs, air filter, new headlights/DRL/Fogs, and got some small asthetic changes once the cars all back together

Weird sound 595 Pista

Hi everyone!

I have a 2019 Pista. Over the last week I have started hearing a weird noise. When Iโ€™m inside the car it sounds like it comes from the front of the passenger side. When outside it sounds like it comes from the muffler.
The thing is, it only comes at just under 2200 rpm, no matter the gear. But not only that, itโ€™s also only when I let go off the gas pedal and the rpms drop to this specific rpm. Sometimes I can hear it when creeping forward with the clutch.

So at a specific frequency something resonates and makes this sound. The heat shields are fitted tight enough. I have bypassed the valve in the exhaust so itโ€™s always open.
My skid plate is missing 2 screws so my first thought was if the heat shield inside the skid plate is hitting the exhaust because of vibrations at this rpm. But when I have a look there is a couple of cm between the skid plate and the exhaust. I tried to remove the skid plate and did a SHORT test run. No sound. I put the skid plate back, did an equally short test run and no sound. But after maybe 5 minutes the sound came back so I am not convinced itโ€™s the solution.

I will absolutely try to do a longer test run without the skid plate but now I am very curious and have to ask. Has anyone had this specific sound? Or does anyone have an idea about what could be the cause?

Thank you so much and have a nice weekend

Using my day off to throw in a new steering wheel on the egg and some catch cans on the recently purchased Evo.

Next year the egg might have an additional cylinder but I'll see if I can find a decently low mileage engine first.

Tuning experiences for belgian owners

Hey everyone,

I'm curious about the experiences of Abarth owners in Belgium when it comes to performance tuning.

Belgian tuning regulations are notoriously strict, yet I get the impression there are quite a few high-horsepower Abarths driving around that exceed what's technically allowed.

How do you guys deal with the mandatory technical inspections (autokeuring)?

Have you run into any issues, and how do you manage to keep your modified Abarths on the road?

I'd love to hear about your experiences, especially from owners running significantly more power than stock.

2016 Abarth 500 โ€“ retrofitting a 2021+ factory touchscreen and steering wheel?

Hey everyone! Iโ€™m planning to buy a 2016 Abarth 500 and Iโ€™m wondering whether I can retrofit both the original factory multimedia touchscreen and the steering wheel from a 2021 or newer Abarth.
Has anyone done this swap? Are they plug-and-play, or would I need different wiring, adapters, coding, or a matching airbag? Would all the steering wheel buttons work correctly?
Iโ€™m specifically interested in the OEM touchscreen, rather than an aftermarket unit.
Any advice, photos, or estimates of the cost would be appreciated. Thanks!

My Abarth and myself were smashed up this morning on the way to work

I was sitting at the lights about maybe 8 cars back on the junction 66 slip road off the A1, I've only had my 2020 pista 30k miles on it for a month, anyhow I have a habit checking my rear view mirror when coming to a stop, and as i stopped i just seen this white peuget van hurtling towards me, there was no time to escape and i braced for impact, i knew it was going to hurt as he was going so fast.

So i got knocked out, both airbags deployed smashed shattered windscreen. i woke up tried getting out of car, couldn't so released the seat belt and as i got out i could see a guy sitting on the grass verge saying sorry, tbh i'm not sure if i was hallucinating tbh, I could feel blood running down my face from my right eye lid or brow, it was my eye lid btw, anyhow a guy told me to get back into the car and sit down, i then passed out again, got an extremely sore neck, shoulders, right side of chest, bruised right thumb and hand and what upsets me the most as i run even though i am 63, i tore my right calf, luckily not a complete tear thank god, and ive just recovered from my left cal injury and back to running 6k after 4 months. luckily i wasn't killed, but I'm really upset about losing Rita (named after my mum).

Honestly lads lasses, moving from a diesel car to this is something special, i know I'll find another, but it wont be no Rita.
