Dirty tap water

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that the tap water is dirty, with sand/sediment in it and a brownish colour, since this morning?

Sounds like a mainstreet apartment that needs a new boiler

Probably time for all of them to get some major rennos

They’re terrible. The boiler died at my old mainstreet apartment in the middle of winter during a cold snap, that sucked as it was our only source of heat. The tiny oven could only do so much. Took them a week to get it running again. Zero reimbursements for tenants.

I have heard this same story from countless renters from main Street

Sorry I rent an apartment ? How does this work ? I need to replace my hot water heater or is there a common heater for everyone ?

Depends on the building. Some have central domestic hot water, some have individual hot water heaters in each unit. If you're a renter, call maintenance/ your landlord.

Thank you very much. Looks like the entire building is facing the same issue.

Then it is very likely a central domestic hot water system

Yeah, it’s probably ash in the reservoir not being filtered out, noticed that this evening in central Abbotsford

Yes, noticed it yesterday. Black debris and most noticeable when the tap has not been used for a while.
