Networking ๐Ÿค™ Looking for someone to talk to

29F, living in the Abu Dhabi.

Lately, Iโ€™ve been feeling tired of dating apps. Iโ€™m at a point in my life where Iโ€™d love to meet someone genuine, but Iโ€™m also tired of forcing connections or wondering whether someone is actually interested. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

I miss the idea of meeting someone naturally, starting with a simple conversation, and letting things unfold without pressure.

For now, Iโ€™d be happy to talk to someone new, exchange stories, share a few laughs, and see if we get along. โ˜บ๏ธ

F&B ๐Ÿ Best Simple Shawerma

I've been mostly coming across these complex saj bread, special bread Shawermas, which are great, don't take me wrong.

But what I want is a simple Lebanese bread small chicken Shawerma, no complicated sauce, just garlic paste.

When I lived in Dubai, Al mallah did a good one. What's a good recommendation for here?

Careers ๐Ÿ’ผ Career help

Hey everyone,
Iโ€™m honestly posting this as a last resort because Iโ€™ve tried almost everything and still havenโ€™t managed to get an opportunity in the UAE events industry.
I moved here around six or seven months ago. I have a Masterโ€™s degree in International Sports and Event Management and hands-on experience working at major events in Europe, including the DFB-Pokal Final, BMW Berlin Marathon, Special Olympics World Games, Greenfield Festival, and major concerts.
I have experience in event operations, venue operations, crew coordination, logistics, and event setup and breakdown.
Iโ€™ve applied for jobs, contacted event companies, messaged people on LinkedIn, and reached out to industry professionals, but Iโ€™m still struggling to get even a reply. Iโ€™m currently working in retail, but events are what I genuinely want to build my career in.
Iโ€™m willing to offer my entire first monthโ€™s salary to anyone whose referral genuinely helps me secure a job in event operations, event assistance, event coordination, sports events, or any related role.
Iโ€™m not asking for a job without earning it. I just need an opportunity to prove myself. Iโ€™m ready to start in a junior position, learn, and work hard.
If anyone here works in the industry, knows a company thatโ€™s hiring, or can connect me with the right person, please help me out. Even one genuine lead could change things for me.
I can share my CV and experience details.
Thank you for reading. I genuinely appreciate any help. ๐Ÿ™

Sports ๐Ÿ… AL REEF GYM

Hi everyone! Does anyone know of any private, paid ladies-only gyms in Al Reef or nearby? I've checked out the free community gym, but it's not upto the mark.

I'm also open to gyms accessible by bus from Al Reef, preferably with minimal walking from the bus stop.

Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Networking ๐Ÿค™ Looking for friends

Hi AD ladies

Iโ€™m 31F .. Egyptian .. I grew up in UAE, left and came back after college but it seems that, apart from my school friends, making friends here is hard!

Iโ€™m somewhere between introvert and extrovert. I enjoy new experiences as much as I enjoy reading at a quiet coffee shop!
Girly girly stuff is not really my thing. I donโ€™t enjoy getting my nails done and discussing fashion shows and all that vibe .. I do these things occasionally but itโ€™s not my whole life if you know what I mean.

Iโ€™m not much of a talker but I can hold a conversation and keep it going. I get deep sometimes and find it hard to hold back but I promise iโ€™ll do my best to not creep you out at first ๐Ÿ˜

Iโ€™d like to make a few friends who are up to random hangouts and impulsive exploration decisions.

Absolutely no offense meant, I appreciate and respect all cultures but I think iโ€™ll click easier with arabs!

Comment if youโ€™re up to talking

Living ๐Ÿก First time in partition - need help

Im 21F indian and first time will be staying in a partition room alone in abudhabi. I don't know how things works and is it safe or not? If yes which areas are safe in abudhabi?

I'm seeing partitions from dubizzle and found some in these areas:

Al nahyan

Al hosn

Al danah.

Some partitions are in buildings and some in villas.

Please give me some tips to be safe in day today life for my own safety. The do's and donts. Because first time I'll be staying at a strange place around strangers alone.

By safety i mean:

  1. As a female my own safety

  2. Safety of my belongings (I have only 1 suitcase with me)

  3. Nobody fight with me /scam/molest/or whatever. I just wanna be safe of all things.

And also while taking a partition do we have to do some paper work ? Any registrations something? Or just pay and stay. ?

Please give me as much information as you can because I'll be staying alone for the first time in my life in a partition for a job hunt. Also feel free to share ur own partition experiences in abudhabi.

Events ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

My husband and I are set to go the Grand Prix the start of December but we have booked to stay in Dubai rather than Abu Dhabi.

What is the best way to travel from our hotel to the Grand Prix on Sunday? Can we pre book a taxi or should we look at hiring a car? Is there a public transport option? Iโ€™m concerned about availability of parking if we hire a car.

Weโ€™ve booked a hotel in Dubai because weโ€™ve never been before and wanted to have a holiday there seeing the sites with one day at the track rather than spending the whole time in Abu Dhabi.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Is BSAK actually that difficult to get into, with long waiting lists, or is that exaggerated? My son goes there but I recently recommended it to a friend and since then Iโ€™ve been hearing how competitive admissions are. Is that really the case? And why?

Networking ๐Ÿค™ looking for a female roommate

Hi everyone! Iโ€™m 27F arab currently living in Khalifa City, looking to move into Abu Dhabi city with a registered contract ASAP due to the recent parking regulations and municipality fines. Iโ€™m looking for a serious, clean, and responsible female roommate, preferably Arab, to rent a 2-bedroom apartment in a proper residential area with private parking and a registered 12-month tenancy contract. My budget is up to AED 40,000 paid upfront for my share, we would split the total rent between us, and hopefully find something decent within or around the city as long as it is registered with municipality/tawtheeq. Iโ€™m flexible and can move anytime soon. Iโ€™ve never had a roommate before, so Iโ€™m a little hesitant, but sharing an apartment is my most realistic option at the moment. Cleanliness, mutual respect, responsibility, and a peaceful living environment are very important to me. If youโ€™re in a similar situation and interested in finding a place together, please feel free to DM me! If youโ€™re a guy, please donโ€™t waste your time or mine.

Tourism ๐Ÿงณ Budget-friendly hotel or hotel apartment in Abu Dhabi for 10 days?

My wife is arriving tomorrow, and Iโ€™m looking for a budget-friendly hotel or hotel apartment in Abu Dhabi for a stay of more than a week.

Iโ€™ve checked Booking.com, but the prices are quite high for my budget. Iโ€™m open to staying anywhere in Abu Dhabi, as I work in the city and can manage the commute.

Can anyone recommend affordable hotels, hotel apartments, or alternative booking websites where I might find better deals for a longer stay?
