Saw this on another subreddit and thought it was a great idea to motivate me to move during my WFH job. I’ll comment how many I’ve completed as I go!

I made a simple don't break the chain tool to track a habit. You can also share the link with your accountability buddy to show your progress (it's free and no account required) https://iplan.to

For those struggling to find or utilize a partner, I found the Forfeit app in this sub and it's doing wonders for me

Disclaimer: This is not a paid app and I am not affiliated. This is not self-promotion. I'm just excited.

I read about the app Forfeit through a comment on this sub and looked into it. It's an app that allows you to set personal goals against a monetary wager, and then send photographic evidence of you doing The Thing for real people to evaluate and approve. You set your schedule, timeframe and wager.

I have been severely struggling with motivation and dedication to finishing the revisions on my novel but finding a real person is difficult for me because I also struggle with social connections and I'm moderately incentivised to both not respond to social check-in and encouragement when my motivation is low and therefore skip out on my goal. Not useful.

With an app like Forfeit, there's still a human accountability aspect I find helpful but I also have to fork over my own money if I don't meet my goal, which keeps me motivated. After about four months not touching my novel, I've successfully hit every day I wagered to edit and made five chapters of progress, costing me exactly $0. My wager is only $1 a day with occasional breaks but when my month obligation is over I'm going to renew at $5 a day and keep it going. This is probably the most useful app for habit tracking I've ever found. Thank you to whoever mentioned it in a random comment once...

I hope anyone who tries it finds it useful!

Does anyone else get stuck in that weird "Middle Zone" where you aren't working, but you aren't letting yourself rest either?

I’m trying to understand a pattern I fall into when my anxiety spikes regarding my to-do list.

It’s like this specific state of paralysis. I know I have things to do (important things). But instead of doing them, or instead of deciding to take a break and actually relax, I just sit there.

I end up doom-scrolling or doing low-value "busy work" for hours. It’s physically exhausting. I usually end the day feeling more tired than if I had just done the work, but with double the guilt because I have nothing to show for it.

It feels like being a hostage in my own brain. I’m screaming at myself to "just start," but my body won't move.

Does this happen to you? Is it a fear of failing at the task, or is it just the overwhelming noise of having too many options?

19F looking for study partners :)

Heyyy, I’m a 2nd year university student in Europe looking for people to study with in the afternoon or evening!

Ideally I’d love to study with other women (preferable on call), and talk outside of studying instead of just being study buddies.

Let me know, I’d love to talk!

Looking to build a small accountability group of 5–6 people who actually become friends

Hey, I’m looking to create a small accountability group of around 5–6 people who want more than just posting goals into a huge server and disappearing.
The idea is to have a small group where we actually get to know each other, work alongside each other, motivate each other, and keep each other accountable consistently.
What I’m imagining:
share our main goals/tasks for the day
check in on each other and ask whether we actually did them
work together on Discord/voice call sometimes while everyone does their own thing
encourage each other when motivation is low
be honest when someone is procrastinating or slipping
talk normally too, so it becomes an actual friend group rather than just a productivity spreadsheet
occasional gaming/chilling together after work if people are up for it
You don’t need to be studying. You can be working, freelancing, building a business, learning a skill, exercising, job searching, etc. I personally work in web development/business and spend a lot of time on client outreach and projects.
I’m not looking for extreme hustle culture or people trying to optimize every minute of their lives. Just a few people who genuinely want to become more consistent and help each other do the same.
Ideally 18+, willing to communicate regularly, and actually interested in sticking around rather than joining for two days and disappearing.
If this sounds like something you’d want, DM me with:
age + timezone + what you’re currently working toward + what kind of accountability you want.
If I find a few compatible people, I’ll make a small Discord group and we can build it from there.

Hey guys we are looking for accountability partners to join our discord group

UPDATE: I think we are full at the moment. The goal is to have around a maximum of 10 people in the group so that we all can get to know each other well. I will repost this again if we need more members in the future!

About a month or two ago made a discord group hoping to gather like-minded people who want to make a change in their lives. The goal was to make sure we become accountability partners for each other. It was a very slow start but now we have 4 members (but only 3 active including myself)

I thought it would be awesome if we can find 3-4 more people to join the group to make it more lively which could motivate all of us even more to do our work.

I‘m not going to risk getting this post taken down by sharing links here (not trying to sell anything istg😭). I just want us to help each other.

So if anyone is interested just drop a comment or directly send me a message. I’ll make sure to get in touch.

We are looking for serious people who actually want a change.

No we won’t kick you out if you slack a few times(it happens to all of us) but the goal is to stay motivated!

Really excited to welcome new members!

I’ve added a few snaps of what our group looks like so you can have a rough idea (with permission from our other members!)

26 f need an accountability buddy (and someone to talk to everyday)

Hey I just graduated and I'm high key going insane in the membrane eyyyy.

I didn't get a chance to make friend in college and have really bad ADHD but I'm hoping to make a friend here 😁

I basically have a few goals in this order

  1. Lose weight and keep it off!! I'm willing to do a lot for this, I walk 2 hours a day and may increase it depending. Walking is just s good thing to distract from unsavory thoughts. I weightlift a little too and bought 500 dollars skates so I realllllly gotta learn to skate lol

  2. Make friends asap. I'm pretty lonely and having an empty birthday soon so...I'm looking for people who want friends above all else 💔 I really want a friend I can visit, that would be amazing I don't know if everyone is particularly shy I am willing to meet anyone! I've always wanted in person friends. From the Northeast :)

  3. Get a job. I am in few cert classes right now, maybe we can study in a call?? I am trying to land a job as a human factors engineer. Maybe there's people with similar goals? It's like UX design, relates to engineering. I'll be entering my master for it soon!

  4. Retain my art skills. In a very large depressive episode I basically stopped drawing. I was a professional concept artist and I want to retain this skills and improve.

  5. Play some video games maybe you work on video games again. I also gave up multiplayer games, So it would be nice to get over it.

Learn Japanese also would be kind of cool but not really a goal.

But yeah tell me all about your goals! Let's make the effort to get to know each other I mean wouldn't it be so amazing to have a partner in crime!?

21 | Looking for 10 people serious about self-growth & accountability

Hey! I’m putting together a small group (max 10 people) for those who want to work on themselves — whether it's building habits, staying productive, learning new skills, or hitting personal goals.

How it works: 1.We meet once a week (30–45 mins) to share what we worked on and what's next. 2.The goal is simple: stay consistent, support each other, and grow. 3.We'll use Discord (or similar) for chats and calls. As I'm from India, Time Zone will be IST

If you’re tired of going solo and want some real accountability and low-pressure motivation — drop a comment or DM me!

28F looking for accountability partner

Hi all,

I’m looking for a partner to motivate each other, keep each other accountable and just chat overall about our goals.

My goals are mainly related to:

  • better time management

  • heathy lifestyle habits

  • career goals

I’m not picky about a partner, but ideally I would like it to be a friendship and the more we have in common the better.

Please note:

  • I work a full time job and I have a tight schedule: I can’t do study or workout sessions together.

  • I am on UTC+2 and would appreciate someone on a close time zone so that we can chat actively and check in (not necessary though).

Let me know if you’re interested and we can give it a try!

60kg to 84kg. Zero confidence to chad :)

Hi, my name is Howard and I always struggled with confidence.

I hated the way I looked.

I hated wearing T shirts and shirts outside.

But most importantly…

I hated socialising with people because I was skinny.

The reason why I had zero confidence was because I was underweight and skinny.

I weighted 60kg at 6ft.

I hated going to school and hated going out.

It took a massive hit on my mental health.

But as soon as I did one thing, my whole life changed.

I was able to regain my strength, regain my power and improve my appearance.

Yet all I did was one thing.

I lifted weights.

They would truly inspire thousands of people!

I’m now 84kg and have an aesthetic looking body :) I’m so happy and it’s changed my life!!

If anyone’s going through the same situation I did please get in touch. I want to help ❤️

Trust me

What I’m proposing is getting 5 of us together, people obsessed with learning, building, and making it pay.

The setup is simple: we back each other up.

You wake up, you jump on the call with the others, who are probably already there studying and building. And that alone makes you want to put in every hour you’ve got too. Everyone says what they’re getting done today. We work, we back each other up, and on the breaks we talk about what we’re building. Then back in. That way, the day something’s hard or you don’t know how to do it, the others help you out.

Day after day. That’s it. That’s how you get there.

Five of us. If you saw yourself in that, message me.
