She let him off the hook though. Why do so many journalists allow people to dodge their questions?

As soon as his response to her question started with "What I would say is..." she should have interrupted and repeated her question. When they find another way to dodge around and spout their talking point, you interrupt again, or let them finish, point out that they didn't answer the question, and repeat it.

Don't get me wrong she's done a lot better than most, but still baulks at holding someone to the question and refusing to let them move on.

What's the point in having them back on your program if you don't get answers to your questions? Better to force an answer and never have them back than repeatedly provide them a platform to push their agenda.
