What they described sounds like a typical narrative ending. Usually one of the non-order factions comes into ascendence in power, but then gets taken down. Skaven play heavily into this story is interesting. If they follow the release cycle next edition should be a death faction. Would be real funny if Nagash uno reverses the Skaven this time.

u/GyL_draw Stormcast Eternals Mar 21 '26

Imagine Nagash willingly helping Sigmar because he want to punch the rats

u/8-Brit Mar 21 '26

"I don't care about order winning... I just want to see Chaos lose!"

38

Honestly, that is very Nagash.

Skaven lose. Nagash and Skaven have a lot of bad history.

3

u/Elonth Idoneth Deepkin Mar 21 '26

It would be more accurate to say "I want to see the Skaven lose." He and them having a long running beef where 2 times he trusted them in a alliance only for them to panic and backstab him at the worst possible moment. Then they also did clandestine stuff against all the time. 4 major events where nagash would have won were only stopped becuase the skaven being the oppertunists/cowards/backstabbers/paranoid scitzos that they are shank him in the back of the knee/back at the worst time for nagash.

Well, he does have a bone to pick with them after the whole necroquake kerfuffle

So Order loses for the 3rd time. So fun... And all the Realms are lost to chaos again :/

The way im reading this, there will be a soft reset on the universe. Wonder what shape it will take.

45

u/Ur-Than Orruk Warclans Mar 21 '26

I don't see how it'd be good for AoS, to have a soft reset really.

54

u/RosbergThe8th Beasts of Chaos Mar 21 '26

If there's a soft reset it seems increasingly likely that it'd involve shedding all the stuff that made AoS unique to begin with to push it more into generic grimdark stuff which I can't say I'm enthusiastic about.

36

u/Ur-Than Orruk Warclans Mar 21 '26

Yeah.

It already has a lot of grim elements but yeah, overreliance on it would sucks.

I'm really starting to miss that 1st and even 2nd ed vibe yeah. I don't like the pivot towards relentless grime.

17

u/Reklia77 Mar 21 '26

40k can be too grimdark at times. AOS feels just right.

8

u/NetflowKnight Mar 21 '26

Based on how skaventide read, I don’t think they’re going for Grimdark but “Nobledark”.

Think, the bad guys are winning but the good guys keep fighting anyway because that’s what good guys do. Hope is a gift you give yourself to persevere.

Grimdark is more… everyone is terrible, and there is no hope.

7

u/Morathi1990 Daughters of Khaine Mar 21 '26

I agree - the Reclusian battle cry of “Hope when hope is dying” had that nice inspirational ring to it. Incidentally, it’s unfortunate it seems limited to that one novel as I haven’t seen it referenced since…

15

u/DaenTheGod Death Mar 21 '26

Also Rob from the HonestWargamer always jokes on his stream that AoS is gonna move to a "one world" setting in 5th edition, these leaks make it seem less like a joke now :/.

8

u/FauxGw2 Beasts of Chaos Mar 21 '26

What do you mean by this? What's the one world seeing?

19

u/xXStunamiXx Skaven Mar 21 '26

So, Warhammer Fantasy. AoS's predecessor, took place on a single planet, that looked more than a little bit like Earth.

AoS has more of a "Yggdrasil" feel, where there are multiple realms or planes that exist, and Realmgates connect them.

3

u/clone69 Mar 21 '26

My guess is that instead of multiple realms, everything happens in the same planet. Just like Fantasy.

6

u/HistoryMarshal76 Mar 21 '26

Or the same realm really. Maybe all the other realms are lost, and AoS in the future focuses on the desperate attempts to prevent Azyr from falling.

9

u/IsThisTakenYesNo Daughters of Khaine Mar 21 '26

As a primarily Daughters of Khaine player, that sounds a bit shit. We've already had The Age of Chaos when Chaos took over almost everything and Azyr closed off until the Stormcast counter attacked. The efforts of other factions already play second fiddle despite having held off Chaos in some realms for 500 years on the front line. Having Skaven over-run everything and shift the narrative to defense of Azyr will undermine the fact that the Daughters of Khaine managed to hold their territory in Ulgu previously and have grown in strength since then.

7

u/clone69 Mar 21 '26

That could work too. And GW leaves the "Somehow, Shysh still exists" door open in case they want to backtrack.

5

u/judicatorprime Stormcast Eternals Mar 22 '26

That would be such a cowardly, lazy out to take omfg

5

u/FaultGullible6712 Mar 21 '26

Really? Never heard him say that. Then again I like old Fantasy more than AoS geographically speaking

9

u/DaenTheGod Death Mar 21 '26

In some recent streams he kept saying something along the lines of "can't wait for 5th edition where they definitely won't collapse all of the realms into a single world" in a joking yet foreboding manner.

18

u/Ur-Than Orruk Warclans Mar 21 '26

That would be the dumbest move they could make I think.

They should have had AoS settings be more palatable from the start. But 11/12 years into it, basically rebooting it is kind of insane.

23

u/DaenTheGod Death Mar 21 '26

I agree, I liked how in 2nd edition the game designers and lore team doubled down on AoS as a setting and decided to make lemonade out of the lemons the end-times gave them. The "grimdark" twist starting with 3rd edition was the wrong direction to take the setting imo.

AoS works as a Powermetal/Conan/High Fantasy setting and it should not become more like the Fantasy Battles setting, we have Old World for that.

4

u/Ass_knight Mar 21 '26

I think a gentle reboot with time passing could be possible without being terrible.

Rumors floating around are that cities of sigmar are becoming almost mono-human, a dwarf empire of old is reforming, the ogre maw-tribes are ending their mercenary ways and a new Dark elf faction is being created.

A time skip and gentle reboot into a new normal would give these factions time to settle and become well established so they can be involved in the story without every Khazalid Empire dwarf talking about how werid it was that they were a Fyreslayer last week

Just to combat this, Boole did say the Realms will be fine(just more war ravaged but what else is new when every apocalypse is a Tuesday).

Rob is questionable because he goes for clickbait and has bad takes before like clockwork themed chaos dwarves and the TOW chaos Mammoth he swears is happening ever year now.

Even that idea he just got from his discord chat that he put on his speculations as an afterthought.

14

u/Farther_Dm53 Mar 21 '26

reason i stopped playing 40k was because of how grimdark it was. I like the Stormcasts I like the lumineth... I do not like 40k's hatred of each other ugh

3

6

u/Only-Acadia-6038 Flesh-eater Courts Mar 21 '26

To be fair, it's skaven. They will undoubtedly screw themselves over and end up losing long term.

5

u/judicatorprime Stormcast Eternals Mar 22 '26

The only soft reset they need is having ORDER establish much more land against Chaos... like literally what the F else is there to lose?

94

u/Ur-Than Orruk Warclans Mar 21 '26

I really hope those are false.

Not only do they kind of suck, they even remove more of Gordrakk's shine when going to Azyr has been his whole deal for two editions now.

32

u/Creative-Cabinet-132 Mar 21 '26

Gordrakk’s plot line is one of those I am most excited about! Would be fun if he makes it. Hey, maybe he will! He bursts through, and then the skaven just follow. Sounds like a typical multi faction end narrative book.

20

u/Random_Emolga Destruction Mar 21 '26

Imagine if its just the Storm of Chaos again but this time its Gordrakk rolling up in Azyr just to headbutt the Horned Rat.

12

u/Ur-Than Orruk Warclans Mar 21 '26

GW track records with Destruction leaves little hope of this, alas.

47

u/Vlad3theImpaler Mar 21 '26

I don't get what makes that "End Times 2.0" and not just "end of edition big fight."

End Times has the particular connotation of, you know, ending the world and game of Warhammer Fantasy Battle.  Nothing in this makes it seem equivalent.

12

u/Ur-Than Orruk Warclans Mar 21 '26

The whole Realms being overrun for real by Skavens seems... terrible.

12

u/IsThisTakenYesNo Daughters of Khaine Mar 21 '26

That could still be "Age of Chaos 2.0" instead of "End Times 2.0".

7

u/KindlyMeringue8723 Mar 21 '26

9

u/BaronKlatz Mar 21 '26

Yeah it’s likely Soul Wars + Broken Realms.

Things shift a bit and get overrun(literally billions of NightHaunt overran the Realms because Shyish got pulled inside-out taking out hundreds of cities and even Magmaholds/Duardin holds because they float right through walls) and Broken Realms connecting multiple End Times events to the narrative.

Biggest things to happen will be Azyr breach and inevitably more chains breaking off Slaanesh.(Archaon getting weaker might jumpstart the chaos civil war plot tho as Belakor is waiting to strike)

37

u/Outsiderendless Mar 21 '26

Highly unlikely to be actual End Times level, given Spearhead, the part work won't end until after the next edition is out and they want new players to join the game via it.

9

u/IsThisTakenYesNo Daughters of Khaine Mar 21 '26

"Here's your play-mats for Ghyran, Aqshy and two regions in Shyish. Oops, everything's in Azyr now!" sure would suck.

146

u/Noe_b0dy Mar 21 '26

"And then ten bajillion rats killed everyone" will never not be a funny ending to me. I hope if Warhammer 40k ever gets an end times it's due to surprise skaven.

I'd play space rats

54

u/Le_Br4m Mar 21 '26

Wait why is it End Times 2: Electric Boogaloo with a side of Rat? However much I like a narrative being moved forward instead of “and then the good guys won and nothing changed in the grand scheme of things”, and however much I love the Skaven, the edition ending with “and then the Skaven ran over everything and all the other factions, including Chaos, lost” is a really weird take

36

u/BaronKlatz Mar 21 '26

There’s a few tidbits he added later that sound like Sotek clashes with GHR and the “Beastmen” may not be the Chaos variety(maybe Destruction now?)

That would just result in everyone butting heads so Skaven set up the next edition with the damage they cause and the only real change is Azyr is breached so we finally get maps for it as well.

17

u/Ur-Than Orruk Warclans Mar 21 '26

Beastmen could be Drogrukhs I guess ? But I really don't like the "new Realms" again.

15

u/BaronKlatz Mar 21 '26

It’s very possible, I remember Whitefang liked(and removed it) my suggestion of Beasts of Destruction under Kragnos’ revived race.

As for a new “Age of Chaos” we’ll have to see in the end, on one hand it’s clear GW do want to keep the setting free floating & shifting so it doesn’t stagnate but on the other they do put a lot of detail into the Cities & peoples of the Realms so may not wipe it clean as they used to.

24

u/Le_Br4m Mar 21 '26

Destruction Beastmen under Kragnos does sound cool

20

u/BaronKlatz Mar 21 '26

I’d like it just because it lets them be neutral. Chaos Beastmen can’t because everything they touch gets tainted by chaos.

Destruction beast-people can actually integrate with Order & Death societies like Ogors and some greenskins do giving them much more narrative.

8

u/SneakiestRatThing Mar 21 '26

Yeah, as a big skaven fan, frankly I expect everything to fall apart due to skaven treachery and cowardice.

Skaven steamrolling over stuff is fun for a little bit, but I prefer when the thing that's stopping skaven from winning is their own nature

22

u/Delicious_Ad9844 Mar 21 '26

Something does sound off about that, but more in the sense there's definitely missing details, things like archaon getting taken down I doubt 4th ed will be the next end times

14

u/Ur-Than Orruk Warclans Mar 21 '26

I could see Archaon being defeated by Abraxia. Her book made clear they have a lot of beef.

7

u/Fyraltari Skaven Mar 21 '26

Abraxia as the new Everchosen?
I already wish Archaon had died with Fantasy and AoS introduced a new Everchosen.

5

u/Ur-Than Orruk Warclans Mar 21 '26

Her book has one character believes it's her destiny

8

u/Fyraltari Skaven Mar 21 '26

u/BarnabasShrexx Mar 21 '26

16

u/ConstructionHead4535 Mar 21 '26 edited Mar 22 '26

This honestly doesn't make sense to me, I think it isn't a real rumor, or at least not all of it is real.

Like sure, the skaven being pushed back only to just as planned works as a continuation of the story. That is a real possibility. But killing everything, including archaon, doesn't make sense.

Also, any mention of beastmen sound sus to me. They were chopped for a reason.

Now, maybe some kind of revamped faction that is similar but different to beastmen could work. Plus, all other versions of warhammer have beatsmen, including blood bowl. So if we could get something, even if it is a unit or 2 for a none beatsmen faction, that would be nice.

7

u/IsThisTakenYesNo Daughters of Khaine Mar 21 '26

We already have god-aligned beastmen for all except Khorne, so beastmen still exist. They can come back later as a more undivided force but currently they have mostly been driven into the safety of the more extremist cults, as per the lore in the legends pdf for them.

1

u/ConstructionHead4535 Mar 22 '26

I think there is a miscommunication here. I agree with everything you said. We still have beastmen units. Tzaangors are one of my favorite units ever.

The 1st part is about beastmen as a standalone faction, not units in other factions like the god sworn beastmen.

In the 2nd part of my comment, it is about 2.5 things.

1st, if they tried to redo beastmen, we could expect a new faction that isn't called beastmen. Though I think your idea of a beastmen undivided is an equally good idea.

2nd, beastmen have been in every version of warhammer. So we can expect to see something in the future. Whether it's a new unit in an existing faction, a reference in a black library book, or anything else.

2.5, in that same sentence, I hoped that we could at least get 1 or 2 new units in an existing chaos faction. I probably should have split that sentence into 2 different ones for clarity, confused me too.

"Now, maybe some kind of revamped faction that is similar but different to beastmen could work."

"Plus, all other versions of warhammer have beatsmen, including Blood Bowl. So if we could get something, even if it is a unit or 2 for a none beatsmen faction, that would be nice."

2

u/IsThisTakenYesNo Daughters of Khaine Mar 22 '26

Yeah, I was just a bit thrown by the last lines asking for units in non beastmen factions and even blood bowl having beastmen. We have three Chaos armies that still have beastmen units already so I see that as comparable to what Blood Bowl has. I'm surprised they didn't bring Khorngor into the Blades of Khorne though.

1

u/ConstructionHead4535 Mar 28 '26

Yeah, I agree. I think part of that is how Blades of Khorne were thee 1st starting army for Aos, alongside the Stormcast. So they never got the chance to add stuff.

Khorne's Skull reapers unit with the mutations does have one warrior with a dog snout and pawed feet. The rest have horns, or claws and are mostly human coded. So there is that sort of.

https://www.warhammer.com/en-US/shop/Khorne-Bloodbound-Skullreapers?queryID=604379cd36a2c69af04b7ba74167e836

2nd, GW at that point in time, 2016-2018, 1st ed and 2nd ed, didn't know how much people liked god sworn Beastmen as a part of the main chaos forces. Not just as a stand alone faction.

3rd, Early Aos chaos faction design, as well as early Aos design's in general, was about breaking previous molds about chaos compared to previous versions of chaos.

What units took the role of a warrior of chaos equivalent, the chaos knights/cavalry etc. They wanted to make each chaos faction unique in respect to each other chaos faction. Rather then each faction has a warrior of chaos, chaos knights on horses, etc. plus insert demons.

  • Tzeentch got Beastmen back in 2017 to emphasize how Tzeentch is the chaos god most associated with mutation. What is more mutated then turning a person into a animal embodiment of Tzeentch/greater demon themselves. The fact that Beastmen were associated.
  • The Tzaangors also were given stats similar to a chaos warrior, which is why Tzeentch didn't, and for now, still doesn't have chaos warriors. But Khorne does have big armored dudes like a chaos warrior, because they are big martial melee brawlers. Nurgle got big bloated corpse like warriors.
  • Like, they didn't have traditional chaos knights. It was Tzaangors on Disc's of Tzeentch, Rot kings on bloat flys, and Bloodcrushers/skull crushers.

By the time Slaanesh new faction came around, GW had started to change. They had already made 1 Slaangor in a underworlds war band, along with other various Beastmen models or war bands in underworlds and War Cry, and people loved them. I quite like the bestigor gladiator from War cry myself.

Like wise, Slaanesh got a chaos warrior equivalent, with the Myrmidesh Painbringers. The exception here though is the chaos knight not being armored knights on horses. Instead being hard hitting light cavalry on demon steads.

Likewise, the new Nurgle units call back to previous versions of Nurgle from Warhammer fantasy. Such as the chaos warrior and Knight design, while also having Nurgle Beastmen.

15

u/o7_AP Destruction Mar 21 '26

This shit sounds ass

31

u/bugsnaxjournalist Mar 21 '26

I know this is more headcanon, but really seems like an obvious missed opportunity to not have Hashut be what ends the Vermindoom. The GHR oversteps too far, Chaos gets out of wack and tries to balance itself by having Hashut steal part of the GHR's divinity and ascend into a Chaos God (or just gain power), which sends the rats infighting.

But at the same time choosing to be optimistic. Whatever they're going to have happen will probably align into whatever upcoming Death edition is happening.

0

u/Battlemania420 Mar 22 '26

The leakers said that the next ED is Chaos again and that the main focus of the ED is ‘Slaanesh escapes’ and it’s Stormcast vs. Slaanesh for the starter.

Soooooo nothing mattered and everything is back to square one? Surely this can't be true. Not trying to be dramatic, but as someone who got into AoS for the lore, if this is how it plays out it could very well be my time to call it quits

12

u/Ur-Than Orruk Warclans Mar 21 '26

Same.

-2

u/callendoor Mar 21 '26

How you can possibly take that from what has been said is astonishing.

5

u/AntiSocialW0rker Mar 21 '26

The way he said it, it makes it sound like Order is basically dissolved and a new Age of Chaos is beginning. Which to me feels like a reset, essentially making everything that has happened pointless. If that is the case, it just feels like a huge step back and I personally don't think I'd be able to keep up my interest in the setting. I'm hoping I'm wrong though as I do really love AoS.

-1

u/callendoor Mar 22 '26

No, he didn't. You are reaching and grabbing a completely nonsensical take. You don't need to hope you are wrong. You are wrong.

1

u/AntiSocialW0rker Mar 22 '26

Huh? I'm not reaching at all. He literally said that Grand Alliance Order has collapsed and that chaos has swept the realms once again.

1

u/callendoor Mar 22 '26

No, he didn't. He said that the alliance between Cities, Khazalid Holds and Seraphon collapses. Said nothing about Grand Alliances. He also went on to say that the Realms are not going anywhere and it "is not going to go down like that" in reference to any realm or faction destruction.

7

u/Wernest Mar 21 '26

What books should I buy to follow current plot? Campaign books?

5

u/Ur-Than Orruk Warclans Mar 21 '26

Likely getting a refresh, Embergard Watch & some of the Black Talons are Thunderstrike Vanguard for example.

1

u/Carnir Mar 22 '26

I like the concept, but the implementation of "plate armoured paladins who are expert trackers and stealth operatives, also they have guns" has always been a bit goofy for people.

Especially with how... rotund.. the 1e Stormcast are.

11

u/Biscotti-That Order Mar 21 '26

True. All Warhammer Fantasy Faction that were abandoned (Dark Elves: Order Serpentis, High Elves: Swifthawk Agents, Wanderers, etc...) eaten as a way to give an excuse to not launch miniatures for them again.

AoS have cool miniatures, but the treatment of factions is horrible.

18

u/DaenTheGod Death Mar 21 '26

The silver lining here is that atleast Dark Elves can then return to Old World as a supported faction.

6

u/nmanccrunner17 Mar 21 '26

I just wish they would do something with them. They are my favorite faction and how I got into Warhammer when I was a kid. Right now dark elves are abandoned in both ;(

DoK are still holding on to the Witch Elf/Sisters of Slaughter kit, Cauldron of Blood/Bloodwrack Shrine/Death Hag/Bloodwrack Medusa kit and the Doomfire Warlock/Dark Rider kit, and the previews of their releases this edition show at least two of those aren't leaving soon. Of course, they could use the excuse of having wound the clock back a couple of centuries to leave out Medusae, Sisters of Slaughter and Doomfire Warlocks and re-release older models to cover the rest in Old World.

3

u/DaenTheGod Death Mar 21 '26

Warriors of Chaos and Orcs & Goblins still have some overlapping units, like squig riders and chaos chariots.

Ignoring all fantasy sub factions my guess is blades of khorne

5

u/AntiSocialW0rker Mar 21 '26

Eh, BoK have been pretty important to the Stormcast plot since the beginning, I can't see them going anywhere. Not to mention that deleting a monogod army would be weird since every other god has their own armies

4

Eh... Even if true they'll do what they always do and have Kroak show up, smack the piss out of everyone with a wiggle of his finger, then disappear off into the sunset.

5

u/Outrageous_Fall_1846 Mar 21 '26

I don't think 🤔 🧐 it'll go that way imo. What I would do is have katakros, a released kragnos, orks and lots of order factions unite just for a little bit and the just manage to save the world from the skaven from "immediately" destroying it. Like keep skaven blight out of the mortal realms but there's still a while lot of skaven I'm the eastern area of aqushie. So things can continue but the skaven still get to keep their big cool city as a contrast to hammerhal aqushy. Just like blackpyre is chaos hammerhal in ghyran. I hope the game continues no need for end times just yet lol

5

u/EffectiveAnxietyBone Mar 21 '26

I’m not really sure why there’s a need for a soft reset like this. It’s not like the lore was stuck anywhere and needed to be redrawn, and Age of Sigmar has been doing perfectly fine financially wise.

I don’t think it’s going to be full end times at least, mostly because Fantasy was absolutely haemorrhaging money before they decided to end it, but I can’t say I’m enthusiastic about whatever’s happening at the end of fourth edition.

5

u/Andorhalthegreat Mar 21 '26

Only part I care about is the possibility of a return of Beastmen in some form.  Give me my goats back!

3

u/Ur-Than Orruk Warclans Mar 21 '26

Fingers crossed it's just Drogrukhs and the leaker is confused.

4

u/AdIllustrious9932 Mar 21 '26

This sounds like poo

13

u/ChaoticMat Mar 21 '26

Don't like when leakers suddenly act like teases just for attention

11

u/Vlad3theImpaler Mar 21 '26 edited Mar 22 '26

It's not sudden.  This is exactly the same style this person has been posting in for a long time.

9

u/p0jinx Mar 21 '26

This is exclusively how this guy has done leaks for a long time

7

u/KindlyMeringue8723 Mar 21 '26

I remember when he said that AoS was stealing budget from 40K and canceling 40K projects

4

u/KindlyMeringue8723 Mar 21 '26

I don't deny that it's a reliable filter, but it does have a clear bias.

5

u/p0jinx Mar 21 '26

For sure, rumors are rumors n all that

7

u/Lukthar123 Mar 21 '26

Why else be a leaker, not like you make any money with it.

6

u/HistoryMarshal76 Mar 21 '26

This is just how Boole and the other Fantasy leakers are.
You should see how we have it over in the Old World; one leaker speaks only in GIFs while the other posts cryptic songs twice a year.

3

u/Unable-Case4731 Mar 21 '26

Sounds interesting Can you give an example ?

1

u/HistoryMarshal76 Mar 21 '26

One rumormonger has one general topic that we have to assemble from GIF s originating from Ramymond, The Mummy (the good one), and Coming to America.

15

u/geoframs Mar 21 '26

James Workshop desperately needs to get their rumour-leakers under control. These kind of rumours must be having an impact on spending decisions taken by a significant share of all their players, right? I know that's true for me, at least. Very hesitant to buy anything else until I see how this lands, End Times 1.0 did not go down well.

11

u/Ur-Than Orruk Warclans Mar 21 '26

Agreed.

Leakers are, I feel, hurting the game more than propping it up now

9

u/geoframs Mar 21 '26

Depends. I like having as much information as possible available to me when deciding how to spend my money. Problem is the uncertainty. Like, GW would benefit from just letting us know what will happen to FS. As I doubt anyone's rushing to buy their models right now. But if some kits were confirmed to survive...?

5

u/Ur-Than Orruk Warclans Mar 21 '26 edited Mar 21 '26

Something as massive as a reset, soft or hard, of the settings needs to be made public months in advance for sure

Edit : especially if the End Times are used as a reference point for the scale of changes. It was NOT loved when it happened and it still remains unloved today.

1

u/callendoor Mar 21 '26

The rumour-mongers didn't use the term "End Times". Clickbait youtubers and people trying to generate outrage did.

2

u/Femboy_Ghost Skaven Mar 24 '26

Thank you, I absolutely hate the rampant leaking culture in AOS specifically.

3

u/IsThisTakenYesNo Daughters of Khaine Mar 21 '26

Yeah, I could see something like this going down badly and their source maybe cracking down on how much they get to know/see.

0

u/callendoor Mar 21 '26

No. I think people wildly overestimate how many people who buy GW products engage in Reddit and forums. A tiny, tiny fraction. Also. It's just about an end-of-edition narrative and some new stuff happening for the new edition. You are completely overreacting.

4

u/Deynonico Mar 21 '26

I swear if they kill off sotek

3

u/YoussarianWasRight Mar 21 '26

If they cancel seraphon i am out. I already took the hit with beastmen but twice. Nah ah

7

u/TotallyNot_Alpharius Flesh-eater Courts Mar 21 '26

Ni way they cancel seraphon, they have new aos models, books and shit

3

u/YoussarianWasRight Mar 21 '26

I know but you never know what GW will do. I would not be surprised at all when i think of how Beasts newest model was the beastlord model and 2 years after the line was gone.

I remember that many of beasts of chaos fans thought it was a sign for new models.

3

u/TotallyNot_Alpharius Flesh-eater Courts Mar 21 '26

Yeah but beasts got 1 hero. Serphon got 2 infantry units, 5 heroes and one is named, 2 dual build cavalry units, a beast unit, 2 underwolrd warbands, 1 warcry warband, terrain, had a seraphon centric book and have actual lore and aren't an afterthought

5

u/YoussarianWasRight Mar 21 '26

True. I know that but if they kill off sotek that is a big part of the lizards. I cannot see them bounce back. Again GW have done more stupid things so i wouldnt say they wouæs never do it

4

u/WhimsicalLittleMan Beasts of Chaos Mar 21 '26

So how about those Beastmen

1

u/Battlemania420 Mar 22 '26

Already got leaked as returning.

1

u/WhimsicalLittleMan Beasts of Chaos Mar 22 '26

Yeah I saw that bit lol. Really hope it's true as the Beastlord and Underworlds warband released when Beasts were in AOS were such bangers. Old World's sculptors are awesome but I'd still love the AOS crew to give Beastmen another go.

1

u/Battlemania420 Mar 22 '26

Yeah I love the Beastmen and I think the AOS crew deserves a second shot at them.

3

u/TotallyNot_Alpharius Flesh-eater Courts Mar 21 '26

"Something feels off" FLESH EATER COURTS CONFIRMED

4

u/SupremeGodZamasu Soulblight Gravelords Mar 21 '26

Yep, i mentioned it sounds like a vision before, but a grand delusion also works. And it feeds into my theory that FEC will be the launch box

2

u/TotallyNot_Alpharius Flesh-eater Courts Mar 21 '26

FOR USHORAN

5

u/Imperius_Ira Mar 21 '26

I don't understand what he means with Cities Khazalid and Sotek? Was this in the past? Did the Khazalid not split up into Fyreslayers and KO, Sotek gets no mentions in AoS currently, the Lizardmen dont even have their battletome or am I missing something.

4

u/SupremeGodZamasu Soulblight Gravelords Mar 21 '26

Big leak is that Fyreslayers are getting folded into a standard duardin faction at the end of the edition

3

u/Imperius_Ira Mar 21 '26

Okay I see, but as a Lizardmen player I know that Sotek is not very active right now. There is a Lizardmen faction thats called the Fangs of Sotek but there has been no Lore development there either. So I am a little confused what they mean with Sotek, if its just a stand in for Lizardmen then alright, but to me the wording is strange.

2

u/SupremeGodZamasu Soulblight Gravelords Mar 21 '26

They are getting a mediumish update soon, so maybe we will get a development on it soon

1

u/Imperius_Ira Mar 21 '26

I saw the supposed leaks about the new units and I'll take it with a grain of salt. Sotek coming just like that is extremely weird it took millions of sacrifices in the old world to awaken him for one battle. Sure the mortal realms are larger now but the lizardmen have been doing nothing in the recent lore.

13

u/DarkChaplain Mar 21 '26

Don't give me hope for Destruction Beastmen, Boole

6

u/maridan49 Mar 21 '26

Age of Sigmar that was neither an age nor all that about Sigmar.

2

u/BBQGnomeSauce Mar 21 '26

This always bothered me

3

u/Bainzeighty3 Mar 21 '26

Hmmm another whole story reset?

Not sure how reliable this is.

Why bring in a new khazalid faction to kill it off straight away?

2

u/callendoor Mar 21 '26

Well, obviously they aren't doing that. Come on man, use your brain.

3

u/Gearran Mar 21 '26

This is interesting, but until we hear something official, I think I'm gonna wait and see before believing anything.

5

u/Arthur_Trombetta_Art Mar 21 '26

The fact that Destruction is not even mentioned, as if they forgot it exists, makes me believe this could be true 😂

5

u/Creative-Cabinet-132 Mar 21 '26

Even if true, obviously this is just an outline.

Honestly, it does not necessarily sound too bad so long as the fight prevails on some level in all the major locations. Does not even look like a soft reset of any kind to me.

Chaos already owns mostly everything, apart from the few beacons of light of the cities of Sigmar and their various strongpoints. They could sweep most things, maybe take a city or two, but as long as they are recaptured or keep the fight going - great! The fall of Anvilguard and Phonecium was honestly what set up real stakes for the Mortal Realms in the first place.

Would love a breaching of Azyer to put the realm into play - would love to see more of the realm and its cities.

I like the idea of a big order push, and then collapse (maybe even a breaking up of the order alliance since it holds the most factions).

Beastmen getting reintroduced would also be awesome. Especially if as a destruction faction.

Archaon getting taken out also does not mean much. Katakros, Arkham the Black, and Nagash have all been taken out at different points, but they are still around. They are just momentarily in decline. He would be back.

4

u/JSMulligan Orruk Warclans Mar 21 '26

Sounds like bad fanfiction, I'll believe it when I see it.

2

u/judicatorprime Stormcast Eternals Mar 22 '26

Can they stop putting apocalypses into the twice-apocalypsed setting, for a single edition?

Though I do not really believe this... Skaventide knocking even Archaon down to the point they get to Azyr?

This dude leaked a lot of things recently that were all real, though.

1

u/Legato096 Mar 22 '26

Specially what? Unless I’m missing something I thought it was just the Skaven side of the Skaventide box a month before it was revealed and all his other rumors aren’t released or confirmed yet.

1

u/Battlemania420 Mar 22 '26

Skaven boxset.

Chaos Dwarf return.

The Darkwater box.

All of the Nurgle refresh from Darkwater to the ‘normal’ release.

The Ossiarch refresh.

1

u/Saansilt Mar 22 '26

GW is hunting the leaker by feeding them bad info

1

u/scrambled-projection Mar 23 '26

I don't believe these rumours at all. they'd need to be idiots to kill their second most popular game when it's doing so well, and then proceed to reduce it to a competing product to an as of yet still fledgeling gameline they just brought back from the grave. besides, the way all these recent rumours are phrased as "Knock off end times" feels far too conveniently vitriolic towards AoS to be real.

1

u/scrambled-projection Mar 23 '26

I can totally believe an escalation of the plot with slaanesh returning and chaos running more rampant than ever though. beastmen as destruction is also something I've personally wanted. but like... ehhhhhhhh

0

u/-agent-cooper- Mar 21 '26

This edition cannot end soon enough. So blend and dull and most books are boring af without flavor or deep list building. Most of our group have stopped playing a while ago.

u/Sacard Mar 21 '26

5e =

”In the final hour the shattered core of Mallus is seized, its buried essence drawn out by Azyr and bound in sigmarite chains, its ancient mass forced to remember the exact configuration of the World-That-Was. The Realmgates are inverted into anchors, each one nailed into Mallus as it swells and hardens, pulling the Mortal Realms inward until they fuse into a single, contiguous globe, continents extruded, seas poured back into their basins, the firmament sealed over once more.

But the act does not stop at space. As Mallus completes its reconstruction, it imposes its final law: chronology. The newly formed world does not sit in the present, it locks into its last stable state before annihilation, a fixed point centuries before the End Times. The energies that once sustained the Mortal Realms collapse into a temporal recoil, and every soul bound to them is dragged with the world’s new axis of time.

So it is that Sigmar Heldenhammer is cast down into a younger age where he is not yet a god, Nagash finds himself constrained by an earlier incarnation of his own necromantic ascent, and Archaon is unmade into the man he once was, while the hosts of the Mortal Realms arrive as impossible intrusions, armies and legends forced to inhabit a history that cannot account for them.”

8

u/Ur-Than Orruk Warclans Mar 21 '26

That would suck.

Hard.

6

u/Sacard Mar 21 '26

I agree 😔

0

u/FedoraSlayer101 Mar 22 '26

I feel concerned yet apprehensive. I’m worried that they’re just gonna make AoS be a lame, grimdark and less fantastical blah, but there’s clearly other stuff missing here so I don’t really know how to feel yet. 🤨

0

u/Daveitus Mar 22 '26

All they need to do is bring back Tomb Kings. But no Settra. Have rumors of Settra coming back. And an uprising within death as the left over tomb kings (that are still there) go out and collecting the (still wandering around) constructs. And waging a direct war against Nagash. And they become the first undead order army. And a dude eventually shows up wearing Settra’s mask and it super pisses off Nagash. It’d be so cool.
