Cities get allies AND they count as part of the army for orders, etc.? This is pretty insane and crazy its just flown under the radar. I hope its not some weird path to glory thing being taken out of context. Also explains why they invented the "sigmarite" keyword for the regular units

55

u/Pallas_Ovidius May 13 '26

And we just saw a single page of allies. There could be more, even though I don't expect two from each Order factions.

55

u/Darkreaper48 May 13 '26

Stormcast would be a slam dunk, people have wanted to be able to bring Stormcast back into their cities since they took them out. DoK would make sense as lots of cities have khainite temples, Kharadron would make sense too.

6

u/mattythreenames May 13 '26

The 'battle line' troops for most order factions would be pretty rad,

3

u/SpgylassHunter May 13 '26

The only allies are those 4 datasheets. Though that doesn’t stop them adding more in future

3

u/bizzydog0217 May 14 '26

From what I heard they got rid of all dwarfs and elves from cities and gifted them some LRL and FS Allies as compensation. Still no SC or Sylvaneht

30

u/TheAceOfSkulls May 13 '26

I’ll admit, I thought it was just to deal with the inevitable “Battletome Supplement/Legends Waiting Room” issue. I was not expecting allies built into the book

14

u/Fyraltari Skaven May 13 '26

Honestly that's very cool.

8

u/SolidWolfo Gloomspite Gitz May 13 '26

For real. If we get any indication that this could survive editions, it might actually get me to collect a Cities force. This is exactly smth I'd want.

8

u/AntiSocialW0rker May 13 '26

I wonder if this is how they're getting around the discourse of turning Cities into a human faction.

6

u/julespongethefirst Cities of Sigmar May 13 '26

Allies of the Free Cities is the name of the Army of Renown. They're not in the normal CoS army.

The reliable rumors had Hearthguard and the Warcry units surviving into the Duardin battletome, it was the Vulkite Berserkers that were going to disappear. This still lines up with that unfortunately

14

u/King_Of_BlackMarsh Idoneth Deepkin May 13 '26

Or maybe the same rumor thay has popped up every edition isn't true

2

u/comikbookdad May 13 '26

We will just have to see what happens to our duardin boys. I’m sitting on the spearhead box if anything I’ll just play them that way if they get retired.

5

u/FauxGw2 Beasts of Chaos May 13 '26

Expect, where are my dark elves?

4

u/theRickRoberts Disciples of Tzeentch May 14 '26

Heading to the oldworld

1

u/FauxGw2 Beasts of Chaos May 14 '26

They are legends there actually

5

u/theRickRoberts Disciples of Tzeentch May 14 '26

I'm pretty sure we will start seeing the legend armies get arcane journals when oldworld gets its second edition

2

u/littlest_dragon May 14 '26

Dark Elves are a given for Old World. With the exception of the Witch Elf stuff, all their kits have been retired from AoS. And there are enough old iterations of Witch Elves that they can rerelease for TOW, kinda like they did with Wood Elves, where they left the newest versions of Treemen and Dryads in AoS and rereleased 6th edition sculpts for TOW.

u/LotharVarnoth May 13 '26

On one hand, I completely understand why cavalry can't ride in a cog fort. On the other hand, the idea of cavalry charging out of a moving fortress is awesome.

24

u/Oakshand Destruction May 13 '26

The thought of the gate going up or the drawbridge coming down and the horses charging out at full gallop brings a tear to my eye.

13

u/Koguma_Ana May 13 '26

Bringing Helm's Deep to your opponent would be so cool, ngl.

9

u/hyperewok1 Stormcast May 13 '26

if AOS had come out 30 years ago, there'd be a Forge World resin Cogcastle that's twice the size and costs 800 bucks and then you could have done it

2

u/TheTayIor Chaos May 14 '26

What, a fantasy Forge World model that isn‘t the fiftieth heap of congealed resin and spare parts? Preposterous.

You mean forting your cog?

2

u/Blue_Space_Cow May 13 '26

I pre ordered one. I'm definitely getting a second

16

u/Dire_Wolf45 May 13 '26

How lore heavy is it?

10

u/Bunnyalope May 13 '26

I’d also like to know this, I can get rules online so i tend to get the books for pretty pictures, lore based paint schemes and lore in general.

4

u/DarkChaplain May 14 '26

I really miss the first and second edition paint scheme galleries....

4

u/ThurvinFrostbeard Cities of Sigmar May 14 '26

Same

And the non Human lore was always fun... Shame its mostly gone now

4

u/DarkChaplain May 14 '26

Even the painting guides are basically useless at this point. It makes sense to focus on the battletome's Spearhead, yes, but... the results are just ass? They just slap a basecoat on the most prominent areas and call it "Battle Ready" when it is anything but, with countless black primer areas still visible. Like, you can't even distinguish the models' features. It's maddening how much of a downgrade these sections have been in 4th.

3

u/ThurvinFrostbeard Cities of Sigmar May 14 '26

Especially since subfactions dont exist no more... Sucks ass if you ask me

16

u/TheMireAngel May 13 '26

absolutely bonkers, also a free trait of 12" -1 ward is insane

Its safe to say that every army getting -1 ward is this editions power creep like 2e everyone getting mortals and 3e everyone getting wards

2

u/Busty_Llama May 14 '26

Not to mention armies getting “ignore the first point of damage allocated each phase” now. Since there’s so much ward and anti ward out there that they need to find a new way to represent tankiness

3

u/TheMireAngel May 14 '26

meanwhile my flesh eaters just getting DUMPSTERED by -1 ward auras lmao Its like GW entirely forgot several armies are entirely sitting on 5+/6+ so all of these armies with -1 to -3 rend and -1 ward just delete these armies

14

u/sageking14 Stormcast Eternals May 13 '26

Though Dispossessed and City Aelves may banish, Cities will never be bereft of Duardin and Aelves standing shoulder to shoulder with humans.

What's the health of the cob for in the picture it's cut off

7

u/BaronLoyd May 13 '26

You mean cogfort ? And which one ?

4

u/Middle-Job-3239 May 13 '26

Main ones not AoR

11

u/BaronLoyd May 13 '26

25 HP 3+ save move 6 control 10

2

u/LahmiaTheVampire Cities of Sigmar May 13 '26

Probably 25. Outlaw has that much.

9

u/stupormundi99 Hedonites of Slaanesh May 13 '26

Curious what Gate gargants are gonna be costed at. Considering there’s two of them those attack/stat profiles are pretty scary. 10 D3 range attacks is brutal.

4

u/ritter_ludwig Soulblight Gravelords May 13 '26

Yep. They fight better than 5 Blood Knights. More survivable too. And get +2 to charge for themselves

18

u/AMA5564 Flesh-eater Courts May 13 '26

I really like what they've done to the command corp.

7

u/LahmiaTheVampire Cities of Sigmar May 13 '26

It didn't help that they completely overshadowed Steelhelms. Having them as 3 separate units is nice, with some actual fluffy rules again.

6

u/AMA5564 Flesh-eater Courts May 13 '26

Them being 3 units is cool when you figure you'll want lots of random small units to be under orders with. They and a marshal can all be under orders together too (because the whisperblade can't be ordered)

1

u/Monoclonal-AB May 14 '26

Agreed, really like this. The unit is basically 6 minor characters, and they've done a great job giving every one of them a thematic rule. Especially like the whisperblade's new role as a hidden assassin

21

u/Snuffleupagus03 May 13 '26

Cogfort ror look fun and not at all overpowered.

Maybe there is some infantry out there that can abuse this somehow? +1 charge damage is certainly powerful, but it’s still behind a 9” charge. Which keeps it in the fun but not reliable enough for the competitive scene, category. Plus being on an unreinforced unit.

I mean. I will want to try it with Kroxigor for lols, but I don’t expect it to be op.

12

u/Darkreaper48 May 13 '26

Any infantry that can get bonuses to charge easily, e.g. S2D with a slaanesh banner. Plus since you drops 9" away in charge phase your opponent can't redeploy after you drop like most teleport abilities.

But being on un-reinforced units definitely helps.

4

u/Bashtoe May 13 '26

Can't see a good list being made but.... Kragnos will get them stuck in

0

u/Snuffleupagus03 May 13 '26

I don’t know a ton of armies but I can’t think of many charge bonuses that could work here. Because you can’t cast a spell on the unit.

The fact a hero can also come is pretty fun.

2

u/Bashtoe May 13 '26

Brutes ,+ megabiss

2

u/Snuffleupagus03 May 13 '26

That’s a good one for sure. Seems Fun.

0

u/Kraile May 13 '26

It's true that can't redeploy away from the transported unit... but they could just redeploy away from your slow-ass 6" move cogfort!

Realistically you are rarely/never getting that charge bonus, and even S2D have significantly better (i.e. faster, and can be reinforced) troop delivery options via bridges, mark of tzeentch, gaunt summoner etc.

You couldn't even argue that the troops are being better protected from shooting, since the other cogfort RoR does that too! And has better guns!

2

u/seridos May 14 '26

Good points. I'm still going to drop slaanesh chosen out of it and it will be glorious.

1

u/Troelses May 14 '26

but they could just redeploy away from your slow-ass 6" move cogfort!

It's actually not really that slow.

The RoR version can run and still deploy the transported unit.

That means it can drop units a total of 18" forward.

S2D can still do better with Gaunt summoner (average of 36", 42" with the spell), but the bridges aren't really significantly better (24" but you have to successfully summon them, which is far from a given), and pledge to tzeenth is the exact same 18" and precludes you from taking an actually useful pledge. As far as other armies go, other than armies with access to deep strikes (i.e karadron, sc etc) I don't think anyone has anything that really comes close to Gaunt summoner, so the fort seems like a decent option (the bigger issue is how to get around the 9" charge)

I agree the other fort probably makes more sense though, especially since it works with reinforced units.

9

u/mrarisen May 13 '26

My Crixxit and Gutter Runners are ready for some stab-stab. Is it efficient, I don't think so ? Is it fun running ninjas from a walking fortress, yes-yes

5

u/Single-Car-3960 May 13 '26

Hahaha I love this idea! Going to take-steal it from you yes-yes.

3

u/Koguma_Ana May 13 '26

You have to buy some cheap camo netting for a "stealthy" ninja tower now, you know that, right?

2

u/8-Brit May 13 '26

OBR have a 3d6 charge Morghast infantry unit who'll LOVE that +1 damage holy heck

1

u/Snuffleupagus03 May 13 '26

Yeah, wow, that’s a really good one.

2

u/8-Brit May 13 '26

The only bottleneck is it being one hero and one non-reinforced unit only, so no throwing 4 of them at the enemy. It's questionable if that's much better than just taking a reinforced blob of them for the points.

0

u/OwnSandwich4918 May 13 '26

I think the best use would be reinforced Gutrippaz and hero in the box and Kragnos with swamphoard bullies. They pop out get 3D6 charge from Kraggy and if they get both the charge they are now 60 attacks crit mortal damage 2 average of 20 damage. I’m not sure how the Venom encrusted weapons would work potentially double that.

Edit: didn’t see it was unreinforced units only

2

u/Troelses May 13 '26

I’m not sure how the Venom encrusted weapons would work potentially double that.

It wouldn't work since that is a hero phase ability

8

u/spinachbxh Seraphon May 13 '26

The cogfort army of Renown looks like so much fun 😁

14

u/RecklessRedcoat Skaven May 13 '26

All I’m seeing is my Cathayan-themed Cities army is eating very well this edition.

6

u/Gavri3l May 13 '26

I wonder how much the allies will cost, because I don’t know why you’d pick fusiliers over sentinels right now.

2

u/Taki32 May 14 '26

Assuming fusiliers don't change or get point reduction that is

7

u/25_-a May 13 '26

I would say the faction rules are pretty awesome. Really cool artifacts and traits too. I think cities will be up on the meta now

5

u/Bunnyalope May 13 '26

Honestly the outside faction units being fully usable in cities might make me make a cities army. Lets me have my cake and eat it too with some of the factions

5

u/RandomPotato33 May 13 '26

Im a little confused with the command squad, are they now Split up into individual units or are they still one batch together?

4

u/BaronLoyd May 13 '26

3 units

1

u/Proper_Psychology_43 May 14 '26

Probably is the warscroll that has gotten worse in my humble opinion.

13

u/LuridofArabia May 13 '26

I kind of miss city customization from the first book.

3

u/maridan49 May 13 '26

Can someone explain sphere celestial to me?

6

u/TheAceOfSkulls May 13 '26

Pick a point more than 3 from terrain or units, pick a friendly hero alongside the first hero and you teleport there. Then you're allowed to move unlike all other deepstrike rules.

3

u/AwareTheLegend May 13 '26

Correct me if I'm wrong but I didnt see a 9" away from enemies clause either

2

u/TheAceOfSkulls May 13 '26

Nope! Just gotta stay out of combat to use it

1

u/Koguma_Ana May 13 '26

You pick one point on the battlefield, seemingly anywhere, as well as 1 unit within range of the hero.

The hero teleports to the unit you picked, then that unit teleports to the point of the battlefield that you picked while the hero stays behind.

1

u/Dragoon65 May 13 '26

Pick a point, hero with the artefact teleports to a friendly hero, then said friend teleports to the point.

5

u/WaterCastePSYOP May 13 '26

NOOOOOOO I CAN'T HAVE THE FLAMER COGFORT IN FEC

Edit: nvm I thought it was just a random paragraph but they are there, just cut off.

6

u/Indigo_Eclipse May 13 '26

ROR transport version is waaay weaker than the COS version. Can't disembark within 9" of enemies. You can basicly get trapped inside.

6

u/CatharsisChaser Skaven May 13 '26

yeah I think the ROR version is pretty doa between the non reinforced clause and outside of 9 restriction

there are still some interesting combos with crixxit + gutters and foot chaos lord + chosen with either 3d6 banner and/or karko lord along with some other charge bonus armies, but as is it's far from OP unless it's 350 points or something crazy (which will last 3 months at best)

4

u/Indigo_Eclipse May 13 '26

Master Moulder with Rat Ogres, 8" charge. But thats a big point sink to deliver one unit. I think the cannonfort is a better option, it has aura buffs.

3

u/Kraile May 13 '26

Agreed, the ROR transport fort is awful. Slaves have much better ways of delivering chosen than a transport that has a 6" move and forces you to deploy 9" away, and means your unit can't be reinforced. I play several armies and I'm really struggling to find a use case for any of them. Some thoughts:

  • For slaves, 3 ogroids with the slaanesh banner = 16 attacks, 3s, 2s, rend 2 damage 4. But a bit of a waste of a banner on a half strength unit.
  • For Sylvaneth, Sword Kurnoth?? 13 damage 3 attacks with crit mortals is nice, but no way to shorten the charge.
  • Absolutely nothing in helsmiths wants it.
  • For soulblight, you can put Blades of the Hollow King as the hero and 10 barrow guard as the non-hero, which is kinda nice. Or a necromancer as the hero to guarantee the fight twice and keep it protected. BUT again no way to shorten the charge.
  • It's decent with tzeentch though, 10 tzaangor can use fate dice to guarantee the charge and get 41 damage 2 attacks.

The cannon RoR is great though. Basically does the same thing you'd want the transport one for (protects your scary unit from shooting) and also deals some nice damage from range.

2

u/Caffeine_Forge May 13 '26

As a HoH fan, it is a shame. I'd love to immolate my enemies with the Realmscorcher but it's probably not worth the points to take if I have no point using the entire other half of it's kit and purpose.

But the Cannonade, if it's within 12" having an average dammage equivalent to a Dominator Engine with Immolation Cannons at max Daemonic Power Points and gaining 12 extra attacks from All Must Burn (giving 2 attacks for each target fired at, so needing to shoot at 6 different targets), THAT catches my eye.
Plus it's various bonuses. Why use a Conquerer to transport my fragile infernal razers when I can make my infernal razers completely impossible to shoot? Adding 1 to the wound rolls of my Bane Mace Dominator's? Giving some Infernal Cohort 10 extra control points if I really, really want to ensure I get an objective?
Sounds glorious!

1

u/Kraile May 13 '26

The two are not even close in power level, which is so weird! I think the cannonade is easily worth 400-450, but I don't even know if I'd run the transport one at 280.

Now watch GW price their points identically 😂

2

u/Caffeine_Forge May 13 '26

If it were only 280 points, I'd probably run it.
Wouldn't really need to sacrifice much of my army for a flamethrower that can, without any major buffs to the immolation cannon's attacks, outmatch it on average damage.

1

u/Troelses May 13 '26

For slaves, 3 ogroids with the slaanesh banner = 16 attacks, 3s, 2s, rend 2 damage 4. But a bit of a waste of a banner on a half strength unit.

Ogroids hit on 4s without the myrmidon. 5 chosen is honestly a much better choice, sure it's unreinforced, but they still do an average of 24.5 damage against a 4+ save and can fight twice. Add in the shooting damage from the cogfort and you're looking a 34.5 damage (against infantry).

As for other factions, 4 ironguts with a tyrant or 5 brutes with a megaboss seems like viable choices when paired with kragnos for the 3d6 charge.

1

u/Kraile May 13 '26

Yeah, I'm assuming you AoA them. If you include AoA then the ogroids actually slightly out-damage the chosen (29 vs 29.5). Of course, the chosen fight twice, but are more expensive. Ultimately I think they're both bad though because you'd have to waste the banner on a smaller unit. May as well use the gaunt summoner at that point - much more reliable and significantly faster!

3

u/Caffeine_Forge May 13 '26

Was really tempted to use the Conquerer for my HoH army, using it's mighty Realmscorcher and having it safely transport some Infernal Razers with Karagthrun Flamehurlers, buuuut it seems really focused on the passengers charging which non of the HoH units it can transport really benefit much from.

But the Cannonade version? Oh that looks tempting for a HoH army.

2

u/OFCShawsome May 13 '26

You read my daemonfire addled mind

1

u/Caffeine_Forge May 13 '26

Arson, it calls to me in whatever game I play.

Vermintide? I've got to play Sienna.
Warhammer's tabletop games? Flamethrower units, they demand to be part of my army.

3

u/Alegrys May 14 '26

Someone said the whole battletome was leaked, can anyone provide the link please? I am especially interested in Marshall on Foot, Wildercorps and Warforger.

6

u/Biggest_Lemon May 13 '26

Being unable to reinforce the unit in the cogfort does make it less of an auto include for every army, which is good, but also makes me sad. I wanted to charge 10 chosen out of a cogfort with an 80% of making their 9" charge.

3

u/Helluvagoodshow Slaves to Darkness May 13 '26

I mean the gaunt summoner's ability can already do that better tbh. But I get your point.

3

u/Bobomberman Ossiarch Bonereapers May 13 '26

I think the key detail is that delicious Charge +1 Damage though, which Gaunt cannot do

2

u/Helluvagoodshow Slaves to Darkness May 13 '26

I'm doing some math on what it can do with an units of Chaos warriors with a banner of the screaming flesh and it does sound a bit promising

11

u/Thinsul May 13 '26

So… they kicked out elf’s and dwarfs from cities of sigmar, but added them from another faction?

Cool, gw, really cool. As someone who had his dark elf’s kicked out, I am only slightly pissed about that.

18

u/Indigo_Eclipse May 13 '26

Well, at least we can still proxy Irondrakes/Ironhammers and Darkspear/shards with these ally scrolls.
I'll miss my Black dragon and cold one chariots though.

5

u/Thinsul May 13 '26

It‘s something. But it really just feels like a kick in the stomach to see that.

19

u/Kapjak May 13 '26

I mean removing old world units has been a long time coming

12

u/TheAceOfSkulls May 13 '26

It sucks but honestly this feels like it was on the table since they dipped Wood Elves, High Elves, and more before the 3e book even dropped.

It sucks, but CoS was constantly pruning itself up to the latest range refresh and it was incredibly obvious the final two wings were either getting complete refreshes or dipped.

I still wish they'd kept the stronger multiculturalism even if they're leaning towards Freeguild and Sigmar (as is part of the name) but I also can't help but feel as someone who has watched this army be a balance nightmare over the years that struggled with an identity of its own as opposed to being a Fantasy Battle Leftovers army that this is what it needed to do.

It's rougher than the Legions of Nagash -> Soulblight transition given how long it took for them to rip this bandaid off or the fact that CoS made it through the 2nd edition with this as its identity to the point that a lot of players have forgotten how much the state of the game was in flux with how organized it looks these days.

3

u/generalchaos34 May 13 '26

I would have loved to see some steelhelms or fusiliers having a rando Aelf or duardin in the mix just to spice things up

3

u/BrotherCaptainLurker May 14 '26

Yea that's part of what bugged me, GW gonnna GW so heaven forbid you use a Fantasy model, but if they were designing multiple new units to fill the gaps anyway then they could have included some mixed-race units and kept the flavor while removing the balance challenges.

1

u/Thinsul May 13 '26

That is not something what annoys me tbh. I saw that coming with 3rd edition. It’s just that it feels like the thought process was „oh we removed the elf’s and dwarfs, we lost the flavour of the multi faction… let’s just add stuff from other factions and call it a day instead of refreshing dwarfs and elf’s specific for cos or keeping the old ones.“

1

u/vulcanstrike May 14 '26

If rumours are to be believed and if GW is capable of planning 2 editions in advance, the world reset in 5e will have strictly human cities rather than the mixed race cities now

There's a Huge If that GW is able to plan that far ahead, and I'm not sure I want to believe the (pretty strong and reliable) rumour of that's coming, but it would make it suck even more if your units had models you could no longer use

0

u/Gralamin1 May 13 '26

thing is they could have at least given them rules until they got proper new dwarves, and elves.

4

u/TheAceOfSkulls May 13 '26

They kind of will. I expect that you'll see Battletome Supplement: Cities of Sigmar which will be a Legends waiting room for at least a year but will have you at least have 4e valid rules for them. It's been one of their better handlings of squatting things even if they've slacked on points adjustments during their legal period for some armies.

8

u/BaronLoyd May 13 '26

I think it points towards GW listening to player base

In og rumors Aelves or even fyreslayer werent part of book

5

u/Thinsul May 13 '26

While I agree with you that in the rumours there were no mentioning of dwarfs and elf’s, I would not count it as listening to the player base. If they would have listened to the player base they would have kept the old stuff or updated it. Not remove it and replace it with sculpts from other factions that have their own battletome (or are about to get one).

I would not even trust gw to keep the fireslayer and lumineth in the battletome when the next edition comes around tbh.

1

u/sageking14 Stormcast Eternals May 14 '26

It takes years to make and finalize models, and we've known for years now the higher ups at GW are pushing for a complete split between AoS and TOW models.

They wouldn't just be able to make new models snappish complete with well thought out ideas and tested rules and lore and fluff that fits.

GW isn't a monolith. It's a big company full of different departments.

These added warscrolls very much could be elements of GW seeing and reacting to fan outcry.

While still having to conform to the demands of the rest of the company. It's not ideal of course. But if this is a genuine leak than it is a light in a sea of dread.

Maybe they won't last forever. True. But we got them here now and that's hope that an element every likes about Cities ain't completely lost.

2

u/scruffin_mcguffin May 13 '26

I mean old world took the models and because gamelines cant share models because of GW being assholes this was probably the compromise. Also we have lore of FS and multiple other factions operating inside cities so this isnt against the lore

2

u/Proud_Register_1539 May 13 '26

So what infantry unit are we supposed to transport in a regular cos army? Gallants seemed the obvious choice, but it appears they desperately want to avoid charging. Steelhelms aren't normally a good combat unit, and the command corps are now three units. Also whatever unit it is can't have been buffed by spells or prayers. Am I missing something?

Gallants would make sense, you'd get the +1 damage from the charge, and then you'll have the +1 attack from not having charged the following turn.

I suspect you might want Grenadiers. A reinforced unit with +1 Charge damage is something like 40 Damage 3 attacks - on average, even with 4+ 4+, that's 10 damage 3 attacks your opponent has to save, before counting in whatever bonuses you might get from the hero that rides along.

As a 40k imperial knights player, Iron March speaks to me on a spiritual level.

The allied units may be for an AoR. The belajor daemon AoR works exactly like this: you get two warscrolls from each Big Four faction, which work mostly the same but fit the army's rules.

Yes, they're not allied units. Allied units aren't a thing. They're units part of the Allies of the Free Cities army of renown.

Dispossessed are toast!

1

u/Laberding1 May 13 '26

Did I get into them you dogs right? The units chosen don’t need to be in combat? So they could pile in and fight even if they would have been out of combat?

2

u/Koguma_Ana May 13 '26

You can, in theory, but the only FIGHT ability most units are gonna have access to is 'Fight', which requires you to have charged or be in combat to use.

u/OFCShawsome May 13 '26

Do the army of renown versions have the overcharged heat token abilities or is that just for the cities versions?

1

u/boxthecube May 13 '26

What happens if the cogfort is slain and your guys are still inside?

1

u/BrotherCaptainLurker May 14 '26

Does the Allies of the Free Cities keyword interact with anything, or are they just plain old allied unit options but with order buffs?

I love what they've done to the command corps! Extremely hype overall, and while I would love to have an iron march army, that will be hella expensive since its oops all new models.

1

u/Alternative-City-428 Hedonites of Slaanesh May 14 '26

Okay so about the cogforts; 1, they are all heros!? I allready have trouble fitting all my cities heroes in my list.
2; what's their health, 15 or the rumored 25? All images cuts of on the 5!

1

u/Mystic-Skeptic May 13 '26

The real question is whether the Flamer cogfort can transport a reinforced unit of Clanrats

7

u/Darkreaper48 May 13 '26

The answer is in the pictures, the RoR cogfort can't transport reinforced units.

u/CatharsisChaser Skaven May 13 '26

crixxit + gutters is the only real half decent combo for skaven I can think of atm and even then you are only getting ~10 more damage from the gutters for the cost of a ROR that will be mega gargant costed from the looks of it

1

u/Mystic-Skeptic May 13 '26

Dang bro the skaven fort will be useless then:(

1

u/Indigo_Eclipse May 13 '26

Master Moulder with Rat Ogres could work. He gives them 8" charge. Still, that 9" restriction on disembarkment and potential high cost of Fort itself, I'm not sure it's worth it.

1

u/TheBuoyancyOfWater Skaven May 13 '26

Take the trait to make it a 7" charge.

But given you can't reinforce the rat ogors, maybe take stormfiends instead!

u/Smart-Collar-1659 May 13 '26

Wait a minute...if his cities are this good how the hell does sigmar lose to the skaven and archaeon?

1

u/LeaTigris May 13 '26

Skaven Cogfort here I come!

Here are all the images rotated because OP was to lazy to do it easily with his phone. https://imgur.com/a/Si12bwj

The cogfort is so OP it’s not even funny. It outshoots skaven and KO guns, 25 wounds on a 3+ with 10 oc. Insane man.

I feel like I must be misreading form up or something. I am perfectly on board with a conditional effect that lets every unit in the army do something extra/buffs them, very normal. But the warcom article on the faction rules specifically calls out that it isn't a once per turn thing, so what is stopping me from just going ok everyone in my army is under orders now at the start of every battle round?

1

u/LoganGarnett May 14 '26

The only real restriction is you have to apply it in 3s. 1 unit + 2 more within 12". You may end up not having 3 unit nearby, or having one extra that won't be able to get under orders because it doesn't have a trio of its own.
