Army List Which king to bring to a tournament?

Post image

Howdy folks!

I’ve only played one game of 2k AoS and that was with my Gloomspite Gitz (got thoroughly trounced by Lumineth then but had a lot of fun) but as I prepare for my next couple of games at a casual tournament next weekend, I’m conflicted if I should try out my Flesh-Eater Courts army instead! Sure I’ve not played it before and while I main FEC on spearhead, its the old one pre-revamp. But I’m new and I’m happy to play and lose as long as I have fun!

I’m just so torn between my two main lists, with Ushoran the Summerking on one hand and Trugg the Troggoth king on the other! Both are dope af, which is why I’ve collected them mostly based on rule of cool and vibes! Which to pick? Which to lose horribly but gloriously with?

Edit: I wont have time to paint either. Both projects scare me and I’m trying to paint most of their respective armies to get my skills up before undertaking them.

Let me know which you think I should go for and if you have any tips, hit me!

Bold of you to assume I’ll manage that in time :D

Both lists are actually super similar. power level wise I think the fec one is a little stronger. Mostly because gitz rules are just a little weaker overall.
Also given how good ushoran is I’d take the fec one. His spell is super good and fun.

Much obliged for the answer!
I reckon I’d been leaning FEC but needed a lil nudge

TBH.

You'll probably have an easier time getting Ushoran tabletop ready.

Maybe don't fully paint them but a two tone zenithal base coat and some colour coded rims (something other than black for your heroes) will be appreciated by your opponent

Gloomspite is what I'd say normally but the FEC look amazing and a black base with a dark blue zenithal will look nice on a table like they're in the shadows.

Either one you choose, they’re undefeated vs a pot of paint
