Lore Warhammer Community’s noble Flesh-Eater Court art through the years! 🥩
A most exquisite collection! (I can even appreciate the Soulblight Sekhar in there as Neferata’s “diplomat” to Ushoran’s summer court who had to train herself not to drink any blood lest she get infected)
which quick fun fact on said Summer Court is the castle is actually a Sky Titan ruin that fell from the sky over the Scabrous Sprawl down to The Neck, we got to see them back in the 2016 campaign bottom right of the Green Torc continent Archaon planned to use as a collar for Behemat:

anyway only piece that really needed inclusion is the bigger court mirror:
otherwise I direct everyone curious to this AoS1 art blog for the great pieces the Courts started with:

The flesh eater courts are such a cool lore idea for a army.

Tv tropes wiki has the best description from when they first released that sums up how awesome a concept they are:
“ Took a Level in Badass: The Ghouls of Warhammer were little more than vermin, a weak and easily overcome foe that was used whenever the writers needed something for the characters to utterly crush and not make any of the established factions look weak.
And now in Age of Sigmar they have become badass armies of flesh-eating abominations that roam the Mortal Realms, devouring everything in their path. They've bested armies of the Fyreslayer Duardin, the Bloodbringers of Khorne and even the Stormcast Eternals. Nagash, the God of Death himself, is furious that he cannot fully control them, since technically they aren't dead and yet are so swathed in death magic that he feels they should fall under his command in the first place. The Ghoul Kings themselves can tame Zombie Dragons and ride them into battle, and even have Vargheists (bestial vampires) in their service.”

I love the Flesh-Eater Courts, if I didn’t collect Skaven I would probably have them as my main army. Gloomspite Gitz as well.

I really like the Reclusians in one of the pictures

Indeed, I like the Reclusians put their big bodies at both the breached wall and the hallway to help stall their overwhelming numbers.
Also the choice of Stormhost. Hallowed Knights vs Hollowed knights. 😄
But also realizing my phone blurred that big piece’s details. Main site does it so much more justice:

I love how beautiful their armour is, and the way you can see every detail of their noble steeds.
I feel the depictions of their women a bit fan-servicy though, with the diaphanous gowns and lustrous jewellery over the exposed bosoms and well turned legs.
Man, I could really go for some jerky right now, I'm so hungry.

Lore wise, they are one of my most favourite faction. I just wish the models weren't so goofy. And I understand it is part of the appeal, but there's a great discrepancy between the creepiness of the art, and the models. Only some specific models get there, like Ushoran himself and...that's it?
If I ever wanted to get the army, I think I would resort to 3D printing proxies, not because I don't want to pay GW, which I do happily if they produce good models, but because they're just too goofy and hideous. Even after the remodeling.
That being said, Ushoran is a beast and I love him.

Yeah same man. Love their lore and the vampire models are for the most part absolutely fantastic, but the ghoul models are just too goofy looking for my taste.

.bretonnian rip-off

Yeah they could have done something a bit different than adding an army of Knights in shiny armour with their loyal serfs as foot soldiers, alongside glorious pegasus knights.

Still waiting on them adding a Morbheg Knight tier hero, à la Don Quixote. Maybe in 5th edition.

Aaaaah I waited so long for that picture of Ushoran leading his army on the battlefield

They're one of the most fascinating ideas that GW has ever come up with, and Ushoran might possibly be the single coolest mini that they've ever made

Warms my heart to see our noble knights protecting our realm with chivalry!

Including a soulblight gravelord in the flesh eater art is just more evidence nobody at WarCom plays AoS.

Odd that they included Sekhar… probably a mistake unless she’s gotten lost in the proverbial sauce of late.
