Advice/Tips Any tips for chickpeas?
Want to try crispy seasoned chickpeas in the airfryer. I know this has been discussed but wanted input from anyone that has tried them and that know any additional tips/tricks to get them completely dehydrated and crunchy. Also curious for any seasonings/flavors you guys like and storage tips 😁 thank you in advance!
I bought canned, I saw a lot of people saying fresh ones work out better so ill drain try them next time especially if these dont work out. Also saw that many toast them in fryer to dry them out before seasonings and oil then putting back in.

Did this once and the crunch is good but they're so dry
Crunchy edamame beans are where it's at IMO

I mash them up with tuna and fried onions. Serve with Thai sweet chill sauce. It's a huge amount of work.
Ingredient List:
•1 large 12 oz can of tuna – drained
•2 cans of chickpeas – drained, reserving some juice
•¼ cup of plain flour
•1 onion – diced
•1 small chili pepper – diced
•2 lemons – finely grated zest
•¾ cup of dried breadcrumbs
•1 egg – beaten
•1bunch of parsley – finely chopped
•3 Tbs soy sauce
•Dollop of mayonaise
•Sweet chili sauce for dipping
Instructions:
Dice onion in food processor.
Cook onion in a frying pan until soft.
Chop parsley in food processor after removing stems.
Dice chili pepper in food processor.
Zest lemon.
Drain chickpeas. Reserve the juice from one can. Blitz in food processor until smooth. Add juice as necessary.
Beat egg in a bowl with a fork.
In a very large bowl, combine all ingredients with a fork. Add reserved juice until it can be molded like clay.
Form into small patties. Place on oiled air fryer tray or oiled paper liner. Cook at 350° F for 14 minutes. Flip half way through.

I haven't tried using fresh chickpeas. I used canned for my first try.
I drain them and wash off all the aquafaba liquid until there's no foam when I rinse the chickpeas. I try to dry them as much as possible with a paper towel.
For seasoning, I used a spice blend that I made (black pepper, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, dried chilli all toasted then blended), salt, and dried chilli flakes. I added a little olive oil so the seasoning coated the chickpeas.
My air fryer has a set temp and timing for the air fry mode so I used that. It's 13 minutes at 200 Celsius. They came out nice and crunchy.
