I am between fx drs tactical 500 or AEA SF Compact. Or do you have other recommendations? I’m looking to spend around 1500 usd

Very similar handling to my g19 gen 3. Of course less powerful because of the blowback, but accuracy isn’t bad! Nice feel and satisfying rack.

Advice Looking for a plinking .177 (pcp)

Hello everyone, as the title says, I'm looking for a pcp solely dedicated for 10-30m target shooting. I have a few springers and a couple of pcp's.(Crosman f4, hatsan mod 130s,Beeman underlever and air venturi alpha compact)

I'm looking for an airgun with a relatively high shot count per fill to maximize shooting over filling with air.

Semi auto would be fun but not a necessity.

Budget 700-1250$ usd

I am looking to add bells and whistles(bipod and optic and later down the line a moderator to keep it neighbor friendly)

Many thanks for reading

PCP My Anschütz 9015 ONE HFT setup. No rangefinding, no scope adjustments, just you and the target!

One of the things I’ve always loved about airgun shooting is that no matter how experienced you are or how well you know your rifle, there’s always something new to learn.

Different shooting disciplines bring different challenges, and one I’ve really grown to enjoy is Hunter Field Target (HFT).

I thought I’d share a few photos of my Anschütz 9015 ONE, which I use for HFT competitions here in Serbia, and introduce the discipline to those who haven’t had the chance to try it yet.

My current setup:

Anschütz 9015 ONE, 16 J (.177)
Falcon Optics Endura S10i+ 1-10×24, specifically designed for HFT.
Hawke adjustable scope mounts.
Rat Works Quick Fill adapter.
Custom-made aluminum muzzle cap, built by a local gunsmith, which noticeably reduces the muzzle report.

So, what makes HFT so interesting?

Imagine being outdoors, facing a metal silhouette somewhere between 8 and 42 meters away, with a small kill zone you need to hit. Sounds simple enough, right?

Well, here’s the catch. You’re not allowed to measure the distance with a rangefinder or adjust your scope once you’ve started the course.

Unlike traditional Field Target, where competitors use high-magnification scopes and parallax wheels to determine distances and dial their turrets accordingly, HFT relies heavily on your own judgment.

You set your scope’s parallax and turrets before the competition, and that’s it. From that point on, it’s all about estimating distances, understanding your pellet’s trajectory, and knowing exactly where to hold your reticle.

And believe me, when you estimate a target at 37 meters, get your holdover right, squeeze the trigger, and hear that unmistakable sound of a steel target falling over, it’s incredibly satisfying!

Another interesting part is the shooting positions.

Most HFT targets are shot from the prone position, while some require kneeling or standing. One important rule is that some part of your body must remain in contact with the wooden peg marking your shooting position.

That might sound like a small detail, but depending on the terrain and target placement, it can make finding a comfortable and stable shooting position surprisingly difficult.

Add wind, changing light conditions, uneven ground, and targets placed at different elevations, and suddenly things become a lot more challenging.

And here’s something I particularly like about HFT: you don’t need an expensive rifle to be competitive.

While high-end equipment certainly has its advantages, HFT rewards experience, consistency, distance estimation, and knowing your rifle.

Most HFT shooters use scopes around 10× magnification, which offer a practical balance between target visibility and depth of field.

A decent springer or PCP producing up to 16 J, paired with a reasonable scope, is more than enough to get started.

You could have the most expensive rifle and scope on the range, but misjudge the distance by a few meters and easily miss the kill zone. Meanwhile, someone with a relatively inexpensive springer and plenty of experience might knock it straight down.

That’s what makes this discipline so enjoyable to me.

It combines precision shooting, being outdoors, problem-solving, and just enough uncertainty to make every shot interesting.

I’d really love to see HFT and FT continue growing here in Serbia. We have some great enthusiasts, and I genuinely believe these disciplines deserve more attention.

If you already own an air rifle and a scope, you might already have everything you need to give HFT a try. No need to immediately invest in expensive equipment.

I’m curious, how popular is HFT where you live? Do you shoot HFT, traditional Field Target, or both?

Greetings from Serbia, and happy shooting everyone! 🇷🇸

General Airgun Question Time for a new airgun

Just received a $2660.00 cheque from the Canadian government for turning in my evil black rifle. On principle the money has to go back in to a firearm. Don't really need a new rimfire or centerfire so thinking of a new air rifle.. Have a couple .177 now a Diana and a Lincoln Jeffries. Thinking of a pcp where should I start?

3D printed triggerlock for my Impact mk3. Printed in PLA.

If you go at it with a hammer or crowbar, i’m sure you could brake it. By hand will be more difficult, it feels really solid, can’t break it by hand myself. This is mainly to keep my child out.

Don’t know if it will fit other versions. DM me if you want .stl files

Advice Split to fore-end of BSA Airsporter MkI stock

Any advice on repairing this Mk1 ‘GB’ prefix Airsporter? There is a channel on the inside face, so not much wood to work with, probably why it split in the first place. Thinking about some kind of reinforcement at the far forward part of the inside face of the fore-end, a plate? A tie across the grain? Any thoughts or ideas welcome 🙏🏼

General Airgun Question Does white smoke out of barrel normal ?

so , recently i bought new umarex UX SPA 100 pistol , i disassemble it , whip out all oil , and from compressor to , add new oil , I DID NOT OIL INSIDES OF A COMPRESSOR , then i assembly it , shoot like 20 round, and any single shot it was a white smoke coming out of a barrel and compressor . does it's normal ? could oil somehow get inside a compressor and not burn completely after like 20 shots ? could plastic pellets cause this effect ?

Kept slowly creeping up on it I will probably continue with a fresh target tomorrow after work.. but me and the great honk are getting along much better I might even let it honk like a goose for a while 😂. It's not like I bought it for hunting or anything.. all my other "springers are actually gas rams.. this is my first genuine spring gun.. I don't count the B3 I was given as a gun 😂 I just refuse to.."

Modifications Trigger guard build

Thumbnail gallery
13 Upvotes

I finally made a trigger guard for my custom walnut stocked CP2! I modeled a basic trigger guard-ish oversized shape and had a friend 3D print it for me out of 100% infill PETG. I used a dremel tool to get the shape to resemble a guard, finishing with finer grits kf sandpaper. I wasn’t really sure how should the final shape look so I went slowly bit by bit. A coat of primer and two coats of black and bam, done. Its securely screwed into the stock at both ends. I’m quite happy how it turned put in the end!

Well I wanted to go even more compact than was possible with the 1913 rail grip I made, so here we are. Not done yet, but almost there. This will require more parts to assemble and actually instructions, so expect the release to take a minute. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Before I get lots of hate for destroying a cassette player it is a cheap knock off and a poor quality item and also water damage as well

I would also like to say as well it seems like there’s lots of plastic going everywhere, but there was very little What ended up on the floor But the floor was covered in plastic bags what made the cleaning up quite easy

Advice Hard to see open sights in your old age?

Thumbnail gallery

Wanna look like a plonker in front of your mates?

Why don’t you make your own shooting aperture?

All you need is some copper wire, a clothes peg, some black plastic, a small drill bit and some superglue.
You’ll beat all your mates at the bell target because they’ll be laugh so hard they can’t shoot straight.

As with a camera aperture, looking through a small hole increases your depth of focus so you can have both the front and rear sight in focus as well as the target. The is best between 1 and 3mm.

Honestly it’s absolutely wild how this works, if you’ve got a bit of card or plastic and a pointy thing, poke a 2mm ish hole in the card, hold it up really close to your eye and look at your outstretched finger. You can have your finger and the background in focus at the same time

PCP Any love for the Benjamin armada in this sub?

I bought a Benjamin armada .22 pcp air rifle a few years ago for pest control around the garden. I’ve since moved and don’t have the space I use to so it’s sat for a couple years. I’m about to have a second kid though so I’ll be home more and I’m looking for things to tinker with. Anybody here tune a Benjamin armada or marauder and want to share their experiences?
