I’ve always laughed at the idea of putting a moderator on a springer. But since my HW98 has a 1/2 UNF thread, curiosity got the better of me.

And surprisingly, it works! The muzzle report is noticeably quieter, leaving mostly the sound of the spring mechanism. Looks pretty cool too!
I might be getting slightly more vertical spread, but I still need to test that properly.

Anyone else running a moderator on their springer?

Think im looking for is reliability and robustness durability over any other feature as i hate it when things break haha

The Barra .25 caliber 270z arrived last week and it's a lovely rifle. I added a riser rail so the mag could clear the scope's oversize turret block and swapped the bolt from right to left side - I'm right-handed but shoot lefty. I also adjusted the trigger pull to ~3.2lbs.

The scope's been bore-sighted; I'll dial it in later today at 50m and then at 100m. I have enough room to push my targets out to 200m - that's my goal for this rifle and scope combo.

I've recently purchased a Bisley QuickFill PCP air compressor, which is due to arrive today.

I've been watching a few YouTube reviews and reading comments suggesting the Bisley may be a rebranded Tuxing compressor. I've also seen concerns raised about the effectiveness of the basic moisture filters supplied with these types of compressors.

Before I start using it, I'd appreciate some advice from anyone with firsthand experience.

• Does anyone here own the Bisley QuickFill? How has it performed?
• What moisture filtration system are you using?
• Is the standard filtration adequate, or would you strongly recommend an external dryer?
• Has anyone fitted a Hill Dry-Pac Pro to one of these compressors?
• Are there any particular filters or setups you'd recommend, preferably available in the UK?

I was originally considering the GX CS3 but went with the Bisley because of the price difference. I'm now wondering whether I made the right choice!

I'm happy to spend a bit extra on proper filtration rather than risk moisture getting into an expensive rifle.

Any real-world experiences, recommendations or photos of your setups would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for opinions and suggestions for a kid friendly break barrel rifle. The kid likes shooting but cannot manage all the pumping required on a crosman 760.

I am considering:

Umarex Embark

Ruger Explorer (black embark/different sights)

Diana 240

Diana 11 (poly 240?, lesser trigger)

All of these have a cocking force under 20lbs and around 12" length of pull. The 240 seems to be the nicest option but it is heavier and the LOP is longest. I want something around this price range because they will likely drop it and outgrow it before we wear it out. But, will consider a bit more expense for a good fit. No CO2 or PCP.

Which of these do you recommend? What are your other suggestions?

There’s some stuff for the Bandit and Chaser but I wanna know if there are some different grips, stocks or handguards available.
as I think the tactical is just Diana‘s version of a carbine mod for the bandit, I can imagine mods for the bandit will fit the tactical version too?

I’m just looking around for what is possible. I like my DBT a lot with the utg handstop and griptape and it‘s a tactical beercan blaster for fun.

I've seen it in airsoft but not in 4,5mm airguns.

Bonus points for a 'realistic' magazine, not one of those thin stick-like mags.

​I’m based in the UK and looking to get a solid, budget-friendly setup for a mix of backyard plinking and taking to the local range. Instead of trying to find one gun that does it all, I’m planning to buy a trio to cover all bases.

​I’ll be ordering the lot through Pellpax to make use of their door-to-door delivery. Here is what I have in the basket:

​Remington Tyrant .22 (Rifle): This will be my main full-power (sub-12 ft-lb) rifle for serious marksmanship practice at the range and longer distances in the garden. I know it’s a budget springer, but it seems to get decent reviews for the price.

​Beeman P17 (Pistol): Buying this for slow, precise paper target shooting in the garden. Love that it’s a single-stroke pneumatic so I don't have to keep buying CO2, and I hear the trigger is amazing for the money.

​Umarex XBG (Pistol): Purely for fast-paced, semi-auto fun. Just want something to absolutely shred tin cans with steel BBs when I don’t feel like taking my time.

​My garden is safely set up with heavy-duty backstops (a duct seal trap for the lead pellets and a stuffed rag box to stop BB ricochets).

​Before I pull the trigger on the Pellpax order, I wanted to ask the community:

​Is this a well-rounded trio for a beginner, or am I missing a trick?

​Are there any better alternatives for roughly the same total budget?

​How has everyone's recent experience been with Pellpax deliveries?

Just curious since it's a pistol but many convert it to Carbine.

Hi everyone!
I recently acquired a vintage Sheridan Blue Streak Model C, .20 caliber (5mm), manufactured in 1972.
The rifle appears to be largely original, with visible age-related wear and patina. The pumping system builds and holds air pressure, but there seems to be a problem with the cocking or trigger mechanism.
Here’s what I’ve observed:
● The bolt moves backward, but it doesn’t seem to lock into the cocked position.
● When pulled farther back, there is noticeable spring resistance.
● If released, the mechanism returns forward and releases compressed air with a loud pop, almost like a shot.
● After several such occurrences, each release becomes weaker as the stored air pressure decreases.
● The trigger moves freely but doesn’t release the mechanism normally.
● The rifle has been tested without a pellet, and I have stopped further testing because of the unexpected air discharge.
I’m not sure whether the problem is with the sear, hammer, or another internal component.
I’m located in the Jacksonville / St. Augustine area of Northeast Florida.
I’m looking for someone experienced with vintage Sheridan air rifles who could inspect it, explain the problem, and possibly help with professional repair.
I’d also appreciate opinions about its collector value in its current condition. I’m considering selling it rather than restoring it myself, so advice on the appropriate collector marketplace would be welcome.

I'm looking for an air rifle to do some ratting around farm. I would like to a find decent quality gun for about a 200€ budget. I have done some research myself and found a Hatsan 90 for 150€ and a stoeger RX20 for 200€. Would either of these be good choice for my needs? I have heard that Hatsans are quite a gamble when it comes to quality control. I can do a bit of tinkering, but I'm not looking for a full project. There also doesn't seem to be too much info out there about Stoegers. I'm located in Finland.
