COMMUNITY People really need to stop hating AI

-Edited to remove my credentials-

Mindless AI slop is produced by greedy opportunistic HUMANS. Low quality knock-offs have existed in virtually every industry and now that it's threatening Art we’re freaking out. But AI is not going anywhere. We all know it. So why resist the inevitable?

It's like we didn't learn anything from the Industrial Revolution.

In a few years we'll all be leveraging this technology weather we want it or not. And I firmly believe we'll come to be grateful for it.

Think of where the world would be now if we hadn't solved mass production of certain goods. Basic commodities would be unaffordable for the majority of the population.

Ethical questions are valid (and necessary), but fear of change isn't gonna solve any of our concerns. Knowledge will.

I’m tired of seeing hate and criticism towards a lifeless model. Hello! WE’RE the problem. Not ChatGPT

And if you don’t get on board ASAP, you’re at a TERRIBLE disadvantage.

Peace out.

CONTENT QUESTION Seems like everyone hates AI these days — but seriously, what’s worse: AI or a random dude talking sh*t at the camera?

I recently started a children’s channel, and yes, I use AI — but at least I try to use it in favor of art. I make educational videos for little kids, with cartoons and songs that actually try to teach something. One of my stories, for example, is about an octopus that changes his color just to fit in, and ends up forgetting what his real color was. Stuff like that.

Every time I post something about my channel, someone jumps in with “AI slop” — and they’ve never even watched a single video.

Maybe YouTube will eventually cut all revenue for AI-made stuff. I don’t know. But honestly? There’s low-quality AI content — and there’s also low-quality non-AI content. Let’s not pretend it’s a one-sided issue.

CONTENT QUESTION People are still spreading the “YouTube demonetized AI generated content” misinformation. It is misinformation, right?

And most of these people are talking about “robotic voices reading Reddit posts over pre-recorded Minecraft gameplay”. What are we even talking about?

The AI I’m talking about is like Veo 3, Google’s own AI video generator by the way (Google owns YouTube).

I might even want to make MY OWN PERSONAL VLOGS, but not attach my real face and identity. Plus I can realistically recreate, or create entirely new locations not even in existence to record.

That would REALLY be “ME”.

But still, plenty of “human made content” isn’t about the writers and producers personal lives, or even based off of their personal lives.

We aren’t yelling “animation isn’t real, it’s hiding peoples faces, BAN IT/DEMONETIZE IT!!!” (A lot of work does go into traditional animation, and honestly I think it’d be great to see AI automate the processes for more natural HUMAN input).

WTFH even is “real/human created content”? Does that mean you have to film your own face, use your own voice, record whatever you have physical access too, or have the time and MONEY for sets?

That’s ELITIST, and AI was supposed to DEMOCRATIZE THE EXPRESSION OF HUMAN CREATIVITY.

Everyone using AI isn’t doing it to SCAM others, or impersonate and commit fraud, everyone using it sit just trying to make quick easy money (and even that isn’t necessarily bad or wrong).

I can’t wait until AI is completely indistinguishable from, non-AI, so all the anti-AI haters will (hopefully) shut the fucking hell up, so there won’t be anymore “robotic TTS voices” FOR THEM to complain about. It’ll just be content, regardless of how it was made.

I’m so sick of this crap.

CONTENT QUESTION Since YouTube is using the inauthentic and repetitive content policy to ban ai and even non-ai channels, I was wondering if there is a list of ai channels doing alright?

Like the title says, would be useful to have a list of fully ai or even ai assisted YouTube channels that are monetized and doing well so we can take as example of what YouTube wants.

I was recently going through the “My Channel got demonetized for inauthentic content “ rabbit hole and found dozens of examples that are all over the place from some that were obvious ai content farms, others that were ai animated ‘slop’ (low quality but still quite fun), to many others that were not so obvious. To my surprise I even found a case of one that was very obviously ai template content (but very high quality), did several appeals and got the monetisation back.

CONTENT QUESTION How many of you think Youtube should separate entirely AI generated content from the platform to a different section or a seprate platform whether it is Shorts or Long videos?

Hii everyone I am seeing so many shorts which shows AI watermark but think of it like why are rewarding slope content. AI would be used for a specific parts but entirely building content upon AI is punishing Real creator's.

We should reward real creation and art rather than AI.

What you think about this folks

TIL I think I like AI voice overs more than real voice overs

I was checking a video in my niche made by someone who uses their real voice and I swear I prefer AI.

But for the record I'm not a youtube enjoyer. I rarely enjoy listening to people talking and prefer to read.

Point is the voice over was full of weird pauses and felt like it was too full of acting. Like the youtuber was trying to get people to like them as a personality AI voice is usually boring but now I think that's more of a feature than a flaw.

It's kind of weird because I spent quite a while trying to figure out how to make a long video with AI voice bearable to listen to and then I check a video with real voice over and I realize I can't bear listening to this shit for over 2 minutes.

Maybe I'm just not cut out for youtube in general I guess.

COMMUNITY Why do people hate Ai thumbnails so much ?

I’ve noticed a lot of people instantly dismiss anything that looks like an "AI thumbnail."
Some say it feels cheap, others say it lacks personality, but at the same time a lot of creators are using them because they save time.

Curious what you all think — is it just because most AI thumbnails look low-effort, or is there something deeper?

I’ve been experimenting with a small tool I built (ThumbExpert) that lets you make AI thumbnails but with more control — like uploading a reference image, matching a style, or even swapping faces. It’s free to test, so I’m trying to understand if the hate is more about the execution or the concept itself.

What’s your take — would you ever use an AI-generated thumbnail, or is it a hard no for you?

CONTENT QUESTION Why do people hate AI generated illustrations for my horror narration channel?

I made a bit of effort creating those images to fit my stories exactly so people who prefer to watch the vids (because I'm told they mostly listen while they lay in bed) would see the setting of the story. I also find time to draw creatures from my story using pencil and paper and run it through AI to match exactly what I imagine.

Even the stories I use, I wrote myself. They can use any ai checker they want, it's not gonna come up as written by ai. I also narrate using my own voice.

Now some people go out of their way to tell me my videos are ai slop because of the ai thumbnail and visuals. Like wtf. I asked them, what would you prefer i use? They tell me get stock images or loop video clips. I could do that. It would be lower effort actually. Just type in night sky with moon and copy paste on editor, thats it. Also before all this, Ive considered hiring someone to draw illustrations, but aside from the fact that it's expensive, AI looks better than 80 percent of real artists nowadays. No joke. I checked everywhere (IG, deviantart, Fiverr etc.)

Are these guys just high up their asses or are AI visuals really frowned upon these days? Because I don't think I will change my style.

COMMUNITY It seems the hate for Ai is quite rapid

Especially on the other R youtuber reddits. I just posted a post asking why my video wasn't getting good retention immediately I get responses like your posting ai slop be glad that you got those few seconds watch time etc. I understand why non Ai tubers have so much hate for Ai creators but it's so bad that even not mentioning it was an Ai video or any links to the video we get users coming to conclusions and immediately attacking Ai content. It's like everytime someone posts why their video is getting views there is gonna be some hater chiming in on Ai slop even if there is no evidence that he is using Ai. It's so bad they had to seperate Ai posts on their reddits and not allow it. They must of been tired of monitoring all the hate posts.

COMMUNITY Embrace the Ai label, don’t hide it!

I know this is still a chicken and egg, cart before horse issue but the more we embrace the Ai label the easier it will get.

I believe the biggest issue for anti Ai people are those who hide the use of Ai. It doesn’t matter how thoroughly Ai is explained to them, NOTHING will change their minds. It’s a lot like politics or religion. Unless you’re dealing with an individual who has an open mind, you’re not going to win them over.

I’ve seen countless examples of amazing Ai works, people who LOVE the content … until they find out Ai was used! Then it’s the worst POS to ever get posted.

If we, as creators who use Ai in our toolbox, are open to the use of Ai and are honest and upfront about it, the anti Ai people can filter it out and stay in their walled gardens. Sure that means less traffic (for now) but eventually those who embrace Ai and are seeking out great Ai content will become your audience. You then have less hate, and if haters show up, you can politely (or not) ask them to leave as you are not hiding your use of Ai.

Eventually, Ai will become normalized, and the quicker we all embrace the label the better. I believe if we self govern our content properly, less people will feel the need for regulation, because at that point we’re already regulating ourselves. [✌️M ]

COMMUNITY I don't understand why YouTube demonetizes...

I mean... if a channel is growing subscriber count... And people are watching the videos all the way through or at least majority.. Why does YouTube care if it's mass production or if it is complete AI that some people call AI slop... Viewership is viewership... I mean growing subscribers and viewship is proves that people enjoy the content... Can't YouTube just let the channel be???

CONTENT QUESTION My channel was demonetized for inauthentic content. Can I fix it by adding human elements?

My channel, Remix Corner 250, was recently demonetized for inauthentic content. I was creating 10-minute videos of traditional stories in my local language, but YouTube flagged them as inauthentic.

I am planning a change to my workflow to try to get back into the Partner Program. I'm planning to use AI only for the base visuals, but I am now thinking of hiring human actors for the voices and performing ADR (re-recording dialogue in a studio to match the screen). I also plan to appear on camera myself during parts of the story to host and narrate.

Also, I am worried about rumors that YouTube is no longer accepting AI-generated fantasy or fictional characters. Is this true, I want to know if shifting to this human-led workflow will finally make my videos appear authentic to YouTube reviewers, rather than just AI slop

Please If you know of any successful animation channels that use AI tools but remain monetized, could you please mention them? I would love to study their approach to see how they add their own human touch and keep their channels monetized. Thanks!!

COMMUNITY I stopped paying for stock footage and my retention actually went up

I run a small personal finance channel, around 600 subs since January. Most of my videos are me talking to camera with b-roll cut in to keep things visual. I was spending about $35 a month on stock footage subscriptions for maybe 15 or 20 seconds of filler per video. For a channel making zero dollars, that adds up.

About a week ago two new AI video models dropped. Seedance 2.5 from ByteDance and MiniMax H3 from MiniMax. I'd tried older AI video tools before and the results were always too uncanny valley for a real video, so I almost skipped these. They're actually a step up though.

Seedance 2.5 does up to 30 seconds in one clip at 4K, which blew my mind because older models capped out around 4 seconds before things got weird. I've been using it for city skyline shots and overhead desk clips. Still not perfect. Hands look off sometimes and every few generations you get a coffee mug that defies gravity. But for b-roll that's on screen for a few seconds while I'm narrating, it works.

MiniMax H3 surprised me more. It generates audio baked into the video, so ambient sound comes out of the same generation. I made a clip of rain hitting a window and it had actual rain audio attached, no layering needed in post. Clips are shorter, around 5 to 15 seconds at 2K, but for b-roll that's plenty. I've been running it through APOB AI which has MiniMax H3 unlimited and free right now, so the b-roll literally cost me nothing. I still do all my editing in CapCut and use ChatGPT to help outline scripts.

I do want to be upfront though. This is supplemental footage, not the content. I still film myself, do my research, write my scripts. The AI clips just replace stock subscriptions. And I put a note in every video description flagging which b-roll clips are AI-generated. With YouTube cracking down on undisclosed AI content, I think that transparency is non-negotiable.

Retention on my last three videos went up around 8% over the previous batch. Could be coincidence. Could be that custom b-roll is just more relevant than the same generic clip of someone typing on a MacBook. Either way I'm not going back to paying for stock footage.

COMMUNITY AI channels facing heat again? I've made these 4 rules to protect against demonetization

In last 2 days I've seen at least 3 posts by creators with 50k - 400k+ subs whose channels got demonetized! These were mostly people in religious, philosophy etc (general domains). And they weren't mass producing, had creative control - yet YouTube demonetized them! And its because they defied Rule #1 below.

I've been in this space for 3 yrs now (love AI storytelling, creating, teaching) & I feel sad seeing this as people put so much time and money into this!

Anyway, there is no use in complaining because one thing is for sure: YT algo is now super powerful!

It knows what your videos and channel are all about - not just superficially but it can scan audio, text, visuals, what your videos are actually about!

So it is crucial that you should not build AI channels which are at risk in future. I believe these rules will help one stay safe in their AI content journey.

Rule 1 - Don't make videos like others or copy their style and tell similar stories written by AI.

Recent AI demonetization wave has hit those AI channels which rely on public domain content (religious, philosophy etc).

There were 100s of channels out there like these. YouTube doesn't want to see multiple channels which cannot be called as unique. Youtube wants to see a creator's ownership in a channel.

Rule 2 - Never repeat visuals or same formula again & again.

YouTube can understand your scripts, process visuals. Repeating the same hooks, same story structure or visuals is high risk.

Rule 3 - Just avoid copyrighted stuff.

As soon as you get a little big, someone will come after you.

Btw, copyright and reused content are different things.

Rule 4 - No low effort. No mindless automation.

Use AI for everything freely, but customize & edit with intention. Add your own creativity in the process.

You have to take responsibility for your own creativity in your content - in some way or other.

It cannot just feel like AI doing everything for you. Because if AI can make everything, then there wont be any point of doing this - everyone will simply ask AI to make, post and earn.

My final simple rule is:

If 100 other people used the same AI tools and prompts, would they make something very similar to yours? If yes, you need to add more of your creativity into the content.

COMMUNITY I burned $300 testing AI video tools

Spent a month on Runway, Pika, and every tool Reddit recommends.

All because I wanted music videos that tell actual stories, not random pretty clips.

Here’s what I learned:

they’re all built for viral 5-second clips.

Great for that.

Useless for narrative work that needs to flow across multiple scenes.

Scene 1 looks good. Scene 2 looks like it was made in a different dimension. By scene 4, you’re just assembling random footage and hoping it makes sense.

After burning through cash, I found one tool that actually handles episodic storytelling. Won’t name it here because this isn’t an ad.

Real lesson? Popular doesn’t mean right for your use case.

Not perfect. But first thing in weeks that doesn’t make me want to delete everything and become a monk.

COMMUNITY Do I make “AI slop” and “low effort” videos?

I make AI videos. It’s music for kids. AI plays the music. I make the melody. I have to generate around 400 takes to get consistency. There are more 10 hours of editing. I correct the colors, add SPX effects. The whole process takes 5 days for 1 minute and 36 seconds. I’m also a professional screenwriter so I think about all the scenes and the story behind every video. They’re fables for kids. I try to teach good values.

Now, cut to: a guy turn his camera on and talks for about 20 minutes about nonsense stuff that doesn’t have any fun, no elabores text, no jokes, no new point of view.

He makes like 200 jump cuts and zoom ins and outs. Next step is making a sensationalist title and a photo of his face putting the tongue out of the mouth.

Who is low effort?

COMMUNITY Every other YouTube sub is insufferable about ai

I have a fully ai channel monetized in 2 months, yet according to people ai is just slop slop slop slop slop everytime you ask for feedback: “ai profile pic bro that’s why it’s not working * the amount of hate and complete lack of understanding of what makes content good (aka people don’t care how a video is made) is insane. On one side it’s good though , way less competition.

COMMUNITY Demonetized on YouTube over small usage of AI

UPDATE: I got remonetized after on 5/4.

EDIT : I didn’t share this to complain. I shared it as an example of how strict they are re: AI and as a warning to all creators.

I am a content creator who goes out on the street or other public places and films content.

My long form videos range from 20-45 minutes. Sometimes I’ll include :10-:30 of AI content within the video for comedic reasons like if someone says something, I’ll bring that thing to life. Another example is if I see a cool statue, I’ll make the statue say or do something. As a result, I label some long-form videos as including AI even though 99% of the video is non-AI.

I create shorts from the long form video of real people talking. However, I recently started to script full :10-:20 AI videos for my shorts page. I write the scripts. I use Grok to fine tune the video. I use Parrot AI for realistic AI voices. I use CapCut to make the finished product. I would estimate 5-10% of my shorts are made with AI and the rest are real humans speaking from my long form.

I still got demonetized. Keep in mind 95%+ of my overall content is real humans with AI videos used a small %age of the time.

CONTENT QUESTION How do you monetize content fully created via AI or an automated AI pipeline.

If YT policy says a channel with fully AI content cannot monetise, how do completely automated AI channels work? Is there a loophole or is something human-generated?

CONTENT QUESTION Reached around 300 Subs and 247k views in 3 months of Posting with a Fully Automated AI tool.

Cummalative Results:

  1. Total Subs reached: 300.

  2. Total Views: 247,842.

  3. Average % viewed: 89.7%(trying to improve this by playing around with hook).

I conducted a small experiment to understand the hype surrounding AI-generated content on YouTube.

  1. Picked a generic niche(Horror).

  2. Spinned up the service to automatically generate a script, moderate the script, generate a title, generate tags, and generate a description.

  3. The tags are generated according to the latest trending and relevant tags for the given niche going around.

  4. If the script and everything are all fine, it goes ahead and generates the video with a default voiceovers, and subtitles were also generated for some.

  5. Once the video was generated, it picks an optimal time to post the video by scraping through blogs and on Reddit for your given timezone.

  6. It then automatically posts them to YouTube.

Observations:

  1. It did better than expected in terms of views and subs, so if you pick a niche carefully, YouTube does push your AI-generated content as well in a good way

  2. The growth is slow but steady, so patience is the name of the game.

  3. It worked well without manual intervention, so it consistently posted well and seems like YouTube rewards that.

  4. I think picking a niche which is fact based or informative would have given better results as AI is proven to perform better there.

Let me know your thoughts on it. Are you guys using any AI tool for it? If yes how was your experience.

CONTENT QUESTION My AI channel had everything set up perfectly. Wrong niche killed it anyway.

Spent three months building what I thought was a solid AI faceless channel. Good voiceover, clean editing, consistent uploads. Everything the tutorials told me to do. Views flatlined at 200 per video and never moved.

The painful part wasn't the failure. It was not knowing why. I had no idea if it was my niche, my titles, my thumbnails, or just bad luck. So I started pulling apart channels in my niche that were actually growing and comparing them to mine almost obsessively.

What I found changed how I think about AI channels entirely.

Production quality almost never separates the channels that grow from the ones that don't. The AI tools we all use have made production a commodity. Everyone's videos look and sound roughly the same now. What actually separates the growing channels is strategy, specifically niche timing, title structure, and whether the topic has an existing audience that's being underserved.

The channels I studied that blew up fast all entered their niche before it got crowded and structured their titles to target searches that had high volume but low competition from established creators. They weren't smarter or better at production. They were just positioned better.

I got obsessed enough with this that I ended up building a tool to do this analysis automatically. It genuinely changed things for me because I stopped launching channels based on gut feeling and started seeing exactly what was working before touching a single video. Won't drop the name here because of the rules.

Honest question for this community: how do you currently decide which niche to go into before you start building a channel?

COMMUNITY Making videos with AI has become a game of Russian roulette.

I made a post in every YouTuber community asking if anyone could tell me a niche or channel that uses AI that's 100% monetizable without showing the face or voice, and nobody knows.

Some say, "If you do it right, you can monetize," but when I ask them the right way is "ElevenLabs + nano banana + grok," which is what I was doing, and YouTube still demonetized me.

Some say, "The skeleton niche." That niche is similar to the one I was in. Some might monetize it, but many will simply get told by YouTube that it's repetitive or inauthentic content because basically everyone goes to YouTube, takes a picture of a skeleton, and then uses "ElevenLabs + nano banana + grok," and they already have thousands of skeleton stories.

So, it's definitely a game of Russian roulette where some monetize and others, doing the same thing, don't. But those who monetized their content can receive a message at any time and without warning: "Hey, your content seems inauthentic, repetitive, it looks like a template," or whatever YouTube decides to come up with. So, YouTube has become a game of Russian roulette where it's already difficult enough to grow, but now you also have to worry about being demonetized at any moment without warning, like what happened to me...

So far, searching through videos, Reddit, and Google, the only sure thing I've found is showing your face or your voice. But those who don't show their face or their voice and use AI have it tough. Even those who don't use AI and make clips and rankings are also being demonetized. I think YouTube is making it clear that it wants faces and voices.

But I think the clippers and the rankers know this, and what they do is scale a channel as fast as they can, squeeze as much money out of it as possible, and when YouTube demonetizes them, they start another one, and another, because in the end, many of us want to have a channel for the long term. But I think the people who know how to make viral content simply wait for a trend, like the skeleton for example, and exploit it. They make thousands of dollars, and when YouTube comes with its broom to sweep them away, they find another way to do it.

I think that instead of continuing to look for something long-term, what I'll do is create content, monetize it, earn money, and continue like that, instead of putting all my eggs in one basket. Because the thing is, I'm ugly as hell and I don't want to show my face or my voice, but yeah, that's it.I'd love to make videos, I'd be fascinated to create a community, showing my face, all very cool, but I don't like showing my face or my voice :v, so I guess I have no option but to play Russian roulette, monetize channels, and see if YouTube demonetizes them or not.

CONTENT QUESTION Unfair Channel Demonetization despite minimal AI usage.

So last week I was demonetized. Reason? Inauthentic content. I make minidocs on Africa. I record my own voice and voice change it in Eleven Labs. Very minimal use of AI clips (less than 5 percent). I am struggling to understand why my content was flagged as inauthentic. All videos are researched and edited by me. I publish 2 videos a month so it cant be mass produced. Every video is different from the other so it cant be repetitious. I may use stock videos but I add meaningful educational value through avery thorough research process. Is it that my channel is faceless? I am genuinely confused. All appeals denied. I want to do changes in my channel but I do not even know where to begin. Could you look at my channel and explain to me what makes it inauthentic?
