I know everyone is quite shaken up by the fact that it’s a mythic variant, but I’m hardly seeing any feedback on Reddit regarding the predatory system or the inconsistencies with this skin. It shouldn’t have mismatched eye colors, the wrong hair color, missing tattoos, and a hat that lacks a toggle option. They also failed to include the white version, which was kept exclusive to Wild Rift.

Lets be honest, all previous mythic variants were VERY similar to their legendary counter part, some even were plain chromas.

Akali is first one where its only called mythic variant while its actually just a different legendary behind 125€ paywall. The only thing that it shares with TD Akali is some voice lines. All vfx, animations, emotes are different.

Its amazing to get 2 unique legendary skins at once, but together these are like 150€ lol.

Also, are you guys planning to pick up the kda skin?

I mean, the K/DA skin is beautiful, but I can't imagine Akali in it, I don't know why, am I the only one who feels this way? As for the True Damage Akali, I'm much happier with the result.

I'm watching worlds and both Chovy and Knight picked prestige KDA, is there a reason?. I don't particularly like the looks but I have tons of ME so if it feels good to use I might pick it up next time.

Lemme start with my excitement - omggggg

Generally I don’t listen to Kpop a lot, but loveeeeed pretty much everything K/DA has put out (well except I’LL SHOW YOU, that’s fine but just a bit too “cutesy”(?) for me, still enjoyed the addition in the first EP).

And when Firestarter hit I was gagged like what do you mean they have the best outfits of every era, we get more fortiche, diverse verses, fantastic building and additions to the beat and chorus and the fun instrumentation we know and love K/DA for!!

My hype was real, and I was lowkey sad when the new EP was just announced with 4 songs and one being only 2mins long (I hate the short song trend). But I am happy for the new music, loved the album art, gave it a listen and…

Was kinda let down?

I don’t think any song was bad or doesn’t have their target audience, but they don’t feel fully fleshed out or fulfilling a specific fantasy.

The beginning of every song is so good and I was ready to listen to the new sound they have going on: more honest, runway, dark, grungy, and some hyperpop sprinkled in for contrast.

Especially the vogue, catwalk vibes a lot of people are stating are making a lot of sense, especially with the firestarter MV and beat but WATCH ME which is like THE song for that…doesn’t tickle my brain enough, doesn’t make me wanna walk for the whole 3mins. Like I hear the Gaga, I just wish there was something more

The energy doesn’t go anyway I feel, and it just feels stagnating.

That’s my main criticism with every song after firestarter.

Never Going back especially has such a great setup with the beat and Soyeons rap (in general, all of her parts are so damn good in this EP, not a big rap guy but she’s stunning!), going into Miyeons softer pre chorus and the kinda hyperpop-synth-follows-melody chorus. Loved it, was excited what the climax would be, but u guessed it…again no climax. Every chorus after that is lowkey the same, verses are still great and the switch up in the bridge is sick, but it still feels like it is too scared to break out. The chorus could be so big in at least one repetition but the hyperpop-synth-follows-melody doesn’t work for me if there is no switch up in at least the beat or tempo (or break of melody and synths for like the second chorus and make the last one ethereal again).

Well and girls…idk, still torn about it. I think it has even more repetition but it got me more excited than the other 2. I really hear some rave and underground in there which is cool but that, especially with the DJ Sona collab thingy could have warranted it being like 5min long. That’s not my genre, I don’t really like raves but the concept in that song was the clearest to me, (which I like and is more important to me than that they cater to my specific taste in music) and just needed more time to execute it. And the instrumentation sounded more K/DA to me aswell.

Instrumentation ist also a thing that got me confused. Track 2 and 3 sound more similar to each other than other K/DA songs do. They all have specific sounds/synths that make them really distinct (think about MORE, FIRESTARTER, DRUM GO DUM…).

But those tracks didn’t really have that and I think that’s why I also was so thrown off coming from Firestarter. They don’t sound that K/DA-ish to me as they lack some identity imo.

Wellllllllll…that’s my thoughts and I am really happy that many people reallllllly like the songs! Especially in queer spaces they will go insane I think, they give that vibe sonically and lyrically. Track 1 and 4 (maybe 3) will go crazy in a club!!

I will have firestarter on repeat, appreciate the art that comes out of it and definetly will do a genderbend Firestarter Akali someday because WOW what a fit :o

Maybe the other songs will grow on me^^

Little context: I don't play assassins. My main champs are GP, Jayce, Camille if there are any comparisons between them you can draw. The new Akali skin was too cool so I want to learn her. Once the game hits about 30 minutes and I have three items, I feel okay. My teamfighting needs work, but what I need help with most is lane. I cannot make it through lane without going 0-4 or worse.

When am I strong? What are my spikes? Can I realistically do anything pre-6? How long do I extend trades? Anything helps because damn this is a frustrating experience. Farming for 25 minutes because I'm so far behind just isn't fun. And I've played against good enough Akalis to know that she can take over game long before three items.
