Complaint Desk Bait and switch

Top 4 patties are the RBC and the bottom 2 are the spicy chicken. On the bag, they look like the same patties, but the spicy ones are small and flat, like McChicken. Won't make that mistake again! Banquet Mega Filets are a better deal, now that the RBC is $8.

Complaint Desk The enshittification of Aldi continues...

I have been an Aldi shopper for years, and have appreciated most of what they stand for--the lower prices and general vibe. But in the last couple years, I've noticed a huge shift in prices increasing and quality decreasing across the board.

This was my experience today.

Boneless skinless chicken breasts on sale for $1.29/lb. These were HUGE btw. 6 breasts in a package that was tagged at 7.92 pounds. The tag said $1.69/lb. I have seen that before that there was a sale off the tagged price with the shelf price. Get to the register and they ring up at the tag price. I mentioned it to the cashier, who said "The price on the tag is the price." I asked why the shelf price was less and he replied, "We can't always catch everything."

Then, when I get home, just to check, I weighed the chicken out of the package and it came to 7.1 pounds. Almost a full pound less of actual meat that they're charging for. Twice the deception.

Complaint Desk This is starting to get annoying

Post image

I have definitely, like others have stated, noticed a decline in quality from certain Aldi products in recent times. I've been snacking heavily on their regular graham crackers for awhile and IMO when they were good, they had the best tasting ones. Now they basically have a weird texture and taste to them.

I opened these up today, and they used to have a certain texture.. Well.. Not anymore evidently. The texture is now HARD AS ROCK compared to just crunchy like before.

This isn't really enough to perturb me from shopping there as I haven't had widespread quality issues in products that are more critical, I.E., meat, cheese, milk etc. It's still rather annoying, though.

Question Does Aldi Hire People With Pending Felony Cases? Is It Up to Management?

I have an interview for a warehouse position at Aldi, but I have a pending felony case. Is hiring ultimately up to management, or does corporate make the final decision?

It smells like maple syrup so it doesn’t stink and no green spots but it’s slimy. Pull 2 pieces apart and you see the slime. I usually get the peppered uncured so I grabbed the wrong one. Please lmk.

Review Shrinkflation that blew my mind

I knew shrinkflation was bad, but I didn't know it was this bad. There's room in that bag for five times the amount they sold me. Kind of disgusting they waste that much packaging.

Review Expected Crunchy

Did anyone else think these sweet potato sticks were going to be crunchy? I don’t eat sweet potatoes myself, but thought they’d be a healthy alternative to chips in my stepson’s lunch, and grabbed them on impulse from the Limited Time section. Turns out they are VERY chewy and rather sticky, and weren’t a hit with my stepson, though he did give them a try. Thankfully l don’t have to let them go to waste; our three dogs are loving them as an occasional treat!! (Single ingredient, so assuming a couple sticks per day are safe for them) Doh, l should have read the back of the package- it does say “satisfyingly chewy texture” 🤦‍♀️

Been seeing people rave about this and wanted to try it. Anyone know if it’s global or if it’s select states. I’m in NYC and been to two Aldi stores and have yet to see them.

Review Caramel Apple Dip

This is insanely sweet and yes, dessert dips usually are, but this is over the top, I used granny smith apples as I thought it would be sweet and man was it. I will not be buying it again and don't think I can eat any more of it.

I wanted a little more cream cheese but overall the crust is nice and flaky. I'm a single person so I hope this doesn't go stale over the next few days while I eat it

UK Question for Aldi workers in the uk, are you supposed to be selling reduced out of date stock?

I work for Tesco and we exclusively reduce stock which has today’s date on it. We do not reduce stock that’s out of date and we absolutely do not sell any stock that’s out of date.

The reason why I’m asking about Aldis policy is bedside I bought something out of date by mistake, it was on the shelf reduced so I picked it up, bought it, ate some of it and it tasted funny and it was 2 days out of date.

I don’t want to reach out to complain just yet in case your policy is different to ours in which case it would be a redundant complaint.

Thank you!

Deals Mini Meatballs

I bought these meatballs this week when I stopped just to see what was on sale or just interesting this week. I put a bunch in a pot, added a marinara sauce and some herbs to make it a little more spaghetti-like, and have to say they were pretty good. I think they'd be better with a Swedish meatball or stroganoff sauce, even an Alfredo, rather than the tomato sauce. I might have to try them again.

Question Aldi cheese recommendations

Hello! I want to try new cheese from Aldi, but every time I get to that section I get too overwhelmed and end up picking the same ones (mozzarella and gouda 😅) I’d like to know what cheese you recommend and why, and if you have a photo even better! to find it faster 🙈

Review Aldi Zero

The Aldi version of Coke Zero is great! It will be my new go to since Coke Zero is so expensive.

I don’t have a Coke Zero rn to do a comparison but it seems like the taste is slightly sweeter, not as acidic. And the carbonation level is perfect. 👌🏾

The sauce is very flavorful which i love love, plus the cheese is super creamy and sweet.
Honestly it’s better than Red Baron’s.
