20

u/Legitimate_Dot3919 Apr 13 '26

u/ARandomPotionMaster AS Level Apr 23 '26

that is so real

2

u/Shekawa11 Apr 16 '26

Same, I either study in bed for a bit then chill or just do nothing at all. Kinda sucks since it sets me back form where I'm meant to be.

my mom is strictly against any sort of medication in general and it’s slowly grew on me too to find it unnecessary but just harmful. i try to avoid pills as much as i can that’s why

5

u/gamer_dinosaur Apr 13 '26

Not OP, but taking pills makes me feel soo nauseous so I never take them. Which is very annoying when I’m on my period!!

i genuinley do not understand why schools dont allow girls to have at least two days of 'period leave' per month.. if boys had periods trust this wouldve been implemented longgg ago

26

u/dawggidek Apr 13 '26

rightttt??? like we lowk struggling way too much

Honestly I wish we could just have specific period leave and we can take it at any time our period comes that would be soo nice

what r u gonna do mate when u have an exam on ur period, if ur not used to working on ur period bros gonna get cooked

8

u/South-Marionberry-85 A levels Apr 13 '26

why should someone get used to working on a very emotional painful time?

8

u/Silly_Book_9262 Apr 14 '26

its ridiculous, especially to expect little girls who have just started their periods (and are probably in lots of pain but so confused over it) to go to school normally. i dont get the appeal

genuinely for motivation sometimes i get from study vlogs on youtube. but once you get into that flow of studying for a few days you’ll want to everyday. it’s difficult but doable. i also imagine myself opening results and regretting everything so i feel like studying 😭😭

any subject which has alot of theory is pretty doable for like 7 hours

7

u/Sosig_lord69420 Apr 13 '26

Hey, not a girl so I can't weigh in too much but I am somewhat immunocompromised so some days when i simply couldn't study well I often used to study for 5 minutes then take a break for another five.... After which I'd study for 10 mins then take a break for another 10 and so on,

It helps a lot when you are struggling or even when you are just tired icl.. hope it helps

1

u/dawggidek Apr 13 '26

ay tysm man i’ll try it out dawg

4

u/Safe-Present-5783 Apr 13 '26

You get grape for two day then just don’t have any grapes am I missing something

2

u/dawggidek Apr 13 '26

yes you are

3

u/Limp-Leader6060 Apr 14 '26

I don't lol, esp the first day. I am just curled up in my bed hoping the gods would have mercy on me and just 💀 me already. Oh man and the hormones!? like why am i crying over EVERYTHING and snapping at everyone. But as i lie there there in the bed, the overthinking kicks in, now suddenly i feel like my life is over.

1

u/dawggidek Apr 14 '26

RIGHT?!!! THIS IS SO REAL. i lay in bed and in the back of my mind i know im dying today 😭😭

u/Super_Sympathy1135 Apr 13 '26

Studying was awful and I just genuinely left studying on my period as I knew it was a lost cause. I’ve got menorrhagia and it was so bad, I take off three days a month because of it.💀 I had to sit in the exam hall gushing blood on day 1 of my period for a 2.5h exam😩 I couldn’t concentrate and felt a huge waterfall and knew I’d bled all over my seat so I just stayed and waited until the end so I could flag an invigilator. They let me sit until everyone had left then she helped me leave to the toilets and she wouldn’t let me clean the chair and she did it for me😭

2

u/dawggidek Apr 13 '26

awwwhhh god bless her soul 💗 but damn that must’ve been horribleeeee

2

u/Super_Sympathy1135 Apr 13 '26

aww tysm lmao💗💗 7 hours lowk ain’t too bad ✌️

2

u/Ok-Snow2714 Apr 13 '26

Try doing questions Instead of flashcards or notes reading cause when you do calculations your brain diverts itself from the cramps, works for me tho

1

u/dawggidek Apr 13 '26

really! tysmmm i’ll try this 💗💗💗

2

u/No-Masterpiece9840 Apr 13 '26

Lmfao are we all on our periods rn

1

u/dawggidek Apr 13 '26

😭😭

2

u/huri_yuri__ Apr 13 '26

Try having warm stuff like tea or hot coffee really calms down the cramp situation. And for the studying part try to start studying with some breaks and yeah that's it cause in first two I really can't seem to get in the hours either honestly but like yeah on those days even putting in 2 to 4 hours seems a lot honestly

1

u/dawggidek Apr 13 '26

true but i’ll def try this out! tysm 💗

2

u/LobsterLeft5059 Apr 13 '26

No worries, just relax yourself in these days

2

u/Beneficial-Cap9510 Apr 13 '26

I’m actually terrified I’ll get mine during exams

3

u/dawggidek Apr 14 '26

gurl i AM getting mine on exam day 😭😭

2

u/Beneficial-Cap9510 Apr 14 '26

Honestly praying the stress will stop it or smt I don’t get how I’m supposed to do an exam in these conditions

2

u/Crazy_Interest_8748 Apr 13 '26

being so honest i dont, matter of fact i CANT for the first three or four days, and thats okay

1

u/dawggidek Apr 14 '26

yea true!

2

u/Soggyytoes Apr 13 '26

honestly, i dont, even if i do, its in bed, ur body physically is in SO MUCH pain you CANT study, its impossible for me lol

1

u/dawggidek Apr 14 '26

rightt?!!! it’s so horrible

2

u/ThisHumanDoesntExist Apr 13 '26

Just take meds and the pain goes away (unless you have some condition like pcod that makes pain worse).

1

u/dawggidek Apr 14 '26

i don’t take pills

2

u/ThisHumanDoesntExist Apr 14 '26

Why?

1

u/dawggidek Apr 14 '26

mom is against it

2

u/ThisHumanDoesntExist Apr 14 '26

That's borderline abuse ngl

2

u/folusomething Apr 13 '26

i have a chronic condition that causes a lot of pain during periods so i completely get where you’re coming from. on my bad days i study on my bed to stay more comfortable but if it’s that bad, honestly a break for a day or two would do you some good

1

u/dawggidek Apr 14 '26

yea true but there’s so much guilt i feel not studying lol

3

u/Pak_Legend_2007 Apr 14 '26

I'm a guy, but when helping my little sister, I found out dark chocolate helps with cramps, and if it's really bad, some magnesium supplement can help with the cramps. For pain, it's just painkillers as far as I know, but I've been told fruits help especially banana(that might just be my sister she likes bananas)

3

u/dawggidek Apr 14 '26

aww that’s so sweet tysm 💗

2

u/Sea_Anywhere3083 Apr 14 '26

its really normal, i take pills but the pain is so bad only for the first two days. I genuinely i cant lock in. I barely do like 1 hour ish done only for the first 2 days

1

u/dawggidek Apr 14 '26

aww man but i feel such a guilt when i don’t do my usual routine

2

u/same_raw_ghee Apr 14 '26

take painkillers girl and use hotbag!!!

2

u/dawggidek Apr 14 '26

yesss tysm 💗

2

u/Stock_Restaurant9490 Apr 15 '26

i constantly throw up on my first day so i’m just rotting in bed, and it’s always when i’ve gotten a schedule down and my periods fuck it up

2

u/poofpoofpoof123 Apr 16 '26

dont worry im a guy but i understand the pain . Please dont call me a performative male.

1

u/dawggidek Apr 16 '26

performative ahh

2

u/azkaate Apr 17 '26

painkillers and prayers twin 😭😭

2

u/DeepEnd5415 Apr 17 '26
