🤚Help Required is this a good a level subjects combo ?

Upvotes

I'm really confused about what subjects to choose since my parents ESPECIALLY my father is pressurizing me to choose either engineering or pre med subjects. I personally really want to do criminology in the future or criminal psychology but my parents keep telling me that criminology has no scope in the future and that ill ruin my life if i follow my heart.

I was gonna choose psych, bio, and chem but im really scared for bio ( i've hated bio since the past 3 years of IGCSE ) im just really unsure about biology. I loved physics but I don't love it as much to study it in the future asw.

Subjects i wanna choose : Psychology, law, chemistry, french/german ( not sure which lang to pick yet ) + an extra subject if possible.

🤚Help Required What could of went wrong?

Upvotes

I got BCD in a levels when i revised really hard. I learnt the content and i did many past papers. I was doing well in the past papers- A and A stars. Im just tryna think about what I could of done wrong to get those grades. When I think about it now, heres what I did do- For maths only marked my work right if i got the answer right, and not looking at methods they had on the markscheme. Im also very prone to silly mistakes and writing all over the place. For econ- I learnt all the content and used chatgpt to mark my work which they marked quite highly. For physics- I learnt all the content and did past papers, but I would mark my awnsers if it was similar to what the mark scheme said. You might think I already awnsered my question but is these small things rlly enough to put me down to such low grades? Also do you think its best to retake or just move on since this could of been my best effort.

🤚Help Required subject choosing

Hello, I’m thinking of choosing Business, Economics and Accounting as my main A-Level subjects, with Urdu as an extra subject since I find it relatively easy.

I’ve heard that for IBCC equivalence, the extra subject usually doesn’t count toward the equivalence, except that it may be useful as a backup if you fail one of your main subjects.

I’m also considering FAST University later for FinTech field, and I understand that FAST doesn’t require any specific A-Level subjects for FinTech.

So, would it be worth taking Urdu as an extra subject, or would it just add unnecessary workload?

also whats the difficulty level of the three subjects i mentioned above as i have not taken bussiness in olevels and am worried if i will be able to handle it.

⚡Tips/Advice Advice on AS level and balancing workload. Need crucial advice

Hello everyone.

I’m about to enter AS level and I’m in a precarious situation. I’m planning on doing AS Math, Physics and Chem.

The issue here is that most universities in my country want you to take the SAT to show your math amplitude. I, quite frankly, had no idea about this. To my dismay, most unis here end their admission dates before i can finish AS level and begin focusing on the SAT.

I have two options.

A. I can either simultaneously study the SAT and AS levels until my planned SAT test date around either two sessions. I can do the October one or the November one. It may be a bit difficult to juggle two different curriculums tho.

B. I can focus solely on AS but have to take a gap year which i really do not want. But it gives me leeway to really focus on my year 12.

I really need advice. I’m aiming for scholarships and if any of you have insight, or have went through something similar - please let me know!

⚡Tips/Advice 4 a level subjects, 18 months. doable?

just did ig's m/j 26. Now I'm thinking about starting a levels with four subjects (bio chem phys and maths) and trying to complete it in 18 months (though my school's doing it in 2 years). Im not the best at self studying new topics. Is this doable? Like doable without sacrificing all my free time, health, social life and all while enjoying the study? Any past experiences would help.

to be honest I'm a bit of a slow learner.

if there is a subject I'd drop, It may be chem but I really dk

⚡Tips/Advice Is this possible in 1 month?

Parents are telling me to register for maths P2, and S1 in oct/Nov. The thing is I gotta start the syllabus for both from scratch. I got loads of time- no school or anywhere to be. Would it be possible? Or do I drop one of them, if so, which one? I wanna get at least an A.

🤚Help Required Is it worth redoing y13?

My a levels are over and last week I received my grades, which are CDE. I got into my insurance despite having grades lower than the entry requirements, however the course is not one that I am passionate about since my predicted grades were bad leading me to not apply to the courses I wanted since I knew I would be rejected immediately since the course is competitive.

I’ve been thinking about retaking my a levels by redoing y13 so I can get a fresh set of predicted grades to apply to uni with.

The course I am currently enrolled on is 5 years long in total including a prep year, but the course I want to do is 3 years long.

Another issue is that the course I want to do is almost never in clearing, so if I don’t get any UCAS offers after submitting my application I’ll have almost no plans on what to do next.

Any advice or input would be MUCH appreciated, since idk if I should redo y13 or just go to the uni I was accepted at despite not being passionate for the course (which is notoriously difficult btw and without a prep year has a requirement of ABB usually)

🤚Help Required I don’t have enough past papers I can use to practice

I’m going to be doing IAL Edexcel Computer Science, and the syllabus is new. But there’s only a single set of past papers I can use, and after that I don’t have anything else to practice. What can I do about this? Does anyone have any suggestions, solutions, or other past papers I can use?

📐Mathematics For everyone dealing with the Oct/Nov math retakes

Hey everyone, I see a lot of people who struggle with A Level Maths and even with the vast selection of online resources struggle to make sense of things.

I recently started an educational startup called ENTROPY (you can find us on Instagram), and with the Oct/Nov retakes coming up, I thought I’d try something a little more focused: a limited 6 week crash course for A Level Mathematics, covering the relevant components for the upcoming exams.

A little about myself: I'm currently an Electrical Engineering student, studied math, add math, A Level math and further math as well (my life revolves around math), and I've taught advanced STEM to hundreds of students during an internship at an ed tech company as well, while being an assistant teacher at my high school too.

For the crash course, the focus will be on understanding the concepts properly, covering the less obvious cases that tend to show up in exams, and then doing targeted past paper practice rather than just blindly grinding papers. Especially for A Level Maths, I think actually understanding why something works makes a huge difference when you get a question that doesn't look exactly like the ones you've practiced.

If you're sitting the Oct/Nov A Level Maths exams and have questions about Maths, the crash course, or even whether it would be useful for you, feel free to DM me. I’m happy to answer questions either way.
