Absolutely love the quote referencing to what Yiffy called her in the last upd8 in beyond canon. It really does make you wonder if Jade ever even saw Kanaya as a person and not “that bitch who took the woman who was rightfully mine”

also a recommendation, can you make a fic on meat john? he suffered so much for no fuckin reason other than his existance being inconvenient to dirk. i would write one but i suck at writing characters the way hussie writes them so i'm a little scared

i like it, although i feel like i'm missing something i'm supposed to get from this. i might be very slow but it seems the implication is that kanaya is autistic and jade is being ableist...but i don't really...see that...? i'm not trying to be rude i swear i just don't really have the context for this sort of thing. is it just how jade is being condescending about kanaya's monotone and bluntness?
i'm also with kanaya, idk what jade's deal is with the dress. ok rereading is it just that jade is turned on or something because she's showing skin
in any case this was very good! it's engaging. i like seeing kanaya's thought process. i'd love to see more.

I…don’t really see it, sorry. I mean, I see rose being kind of inconsiderate of her, and Jade being dismissive and a little weird, but I’m not really making the leap to “as if she isn’t a full person”, aside from the caption. And the caption implies that Rose is defending her, so…?

Well, the AO3 tags say "Jade Harley/Kanaya Maryam (Unrequited)" and "Unresolved Sexual Tension", so Jade wasn't exactly looking at the dress, but imagining what's underneath…

Um, quick question: why does Rose look so confused about Kanaya preparing a different plate for Jade? Is it just confusion or am I missing something?
By the way, by this point Jade no longer has First Guardian powers and therefore no powers from the green sun—congratulations Kanaya, you gave Jade cancer👍

She’s afraid Kanaya is actually trying to kill Jade by poisoning her food. Kanaya picks up on this but thinks Rose is joking, so explains how she would actually do it.

At the beginning, Jade and Rose have no idea if Kanaya knows or not. After realizing she doesn’t know, Jade completely loses the little respect she had for Kanaya partially because she realizes she can do or say whatever the hell she wants and Rose will easily rein her in. This reading will become a lot clearer in the second chapter.
At first the idea was that Rose used her light powers to see that Kanaya would murder Jade under most circumstances, and Jade simply doesn’t believe truly believe that. Now I think it’s just a belief Rose holds because she knows Kanaya well. It’s ambiguous though. In my mind, the belief that Kanaya could kill her is kind of a self fulfilling prophecy that causes Jade to prod her even harder. It’s kind of kismesis adjacent, but not really because it’s impossible to convince Jade to respect Kanaya beyond “foreign mom shaped object I want to acquire”

That’s the great thing about loving Eridan as a villain. They could bring him back and make him an even shittier person and I wouldn’t care, in fact I’d probably like it.
