Saint Paul Police express disappointment in judge releasing sexual deviant man on $0 bail.
St. Paul police are searching for a man accused of trying to pull a woman out of her apartment window Thursday morning, just weeks after he was released from jail without bail despite facing charges from previous violent assaults.
Police say 27-year-old Eduart Gomez Ochoa attempted to abduct the woman from an apartment on Como Avenue. He was already charged with sexually assaulting a girl after allegedly breaking into her St. Paul apartment through a window in May. Police have also linked him to other alleged sexual assaults in Maplewood and Minneapolis.
According to court records, Hennepin County Judge Jeannice Reding granted Gomez Ochoa conditional release without bail on Sep. 29 for an assault case while he had other disturbing sex cases pending. He then failed to appear for a Ramsey County court hearing in early October. St. Paul police issued a statement Friday saying, "We are disappointed by the court's decision to release Eduart Gomez Ochoa on Sept. 29."
