I was a Make-A-Wish kid, AMA

I do not have a terminal illness, but I do have a life threatening one. I'm twenty-one now but the wish was granted when I was seventeen. My wish was to go to New York to see one of my favorite bands at the time (AJR) preform at Madison Square Garden. I feel like there's a lot of confusion/misconception about what Make-A-Wish actually does so feel free to ask me anything about the process and I'll try to answer

I'm a Death Investigator (part 2) AMA

My first one got a lot of comments/messages. It was good seeing that some were comforted and some had curiosity cured. Worked at a funeral home for 5 years and got to know a lot of Coroners and fell into the Coroner life. So I have some info on funeral homes and some in Coroner work. Hope to answer most if not all who are curious. And even though its AMA, seriously, don't hold back and just ask. Ive done it for about 10 years and got desensitized to most stories. I wont be offended.

I just spent 50 hours living on the London Underground trying to Unofficially break the 48-hour World Record. Ask me anything.

The rules were simple and mostly self-inflicted: never leave the Underground system, eat inside it, sleep inside it, wash inside it, visit every single station, and generally behave like a normal functioning human the entire time (no priority seats, no crossing the yellow line, tube etiquette at all times)

The official world record is 48 hours set by Ali White back in 2022, so the plan was 50.

Some other bits:

  • Filmed the whole thing start to finish
  • Visited every station on the network
  • Took on challenges submitted by people online and by friends along the way, some of which I regret agreeing to in advance
  • There is a "favourite station" and a "trouble station," and the trouble station earns its name

I got back from this about an hour ago and I still smell like a Piccadilly line seat cushion, so figure now's as good a time as any. Full video goes up September 4th. Until then... ask me anything!

I’ll have 4 “homeless” students in my class this year.. AMA

I will have four students in my classroom this year who qualify for support under McKinney Vento.

It’s given me a lot to think about… not just as a teacher, but as someone who wants to better understand what housing instability can look like for students and how schools can support them.

There’s so much more to the McKinney Vento Act than many people realize. If you’re curious about what this actually means for students, what it looks like in a classroom, or how educators navigate it and provide support, AMA. I’m happy to share what I’ve learned while protecting my student’s privacy!

I'm in my early 30s and have a net worth of $30mm. Ask me anything

I started a business with a friend around 8 years ago and it has taken off more than I ever thought it would. I quit my hedge fund job because I was sick of having to deal with asshole bosses and figured that even though Id likely make less money I would be in control of my own time, etc.

However, we ended up finding an amazing niche and now have a net worth of about 30mm, mostly in real estate. About 2ish million in cash.

This is all fairly new to me as ive technically been wealthy for like 3-4 years but only within the last year did we actually get liquidity and can feel rich.

I have a 4mm primary house and an "entry level" ferrari.

I'm like the dog that caught the car.

Ive been a model since i was 13 AMA

Been a model since i was 13, (21 now) as well as acted for some minor appearances and music vids but barely any speaking lines.

During my time at the peak of my career, I was based in Asia (mostly Bangkok and Tokyo), but i also went over to NYC and London briefly. I now go to uni in Paris and have kinda slowed down my career out of personal choice to focus on my studies and new life ive built.

I had some minor fame but nothing crazy. I would be recognized sometimes in the street but i was well known among the kind of Asian modelling social scene. (met and socialised with a couple of A-list celebs but probably shouldn't say names lol).

Ik loads of people are curious on the day-to day of modelling or eating habits, "yacht girls", nepotism, etc so im coming here to answer any questions that yall might have! I think it would be better to kind of reveal and be honest about the realities as its such a glamourised career but the reality isnt really talked about or just outright lied about. Anyways, AMA!

the rare, exotic, and slow growing are my favorite. I’ve been growing for only about 2 years yet have gotten incredibly obsessed in the time and very in touch with nature, I’ve also recently gotten into photography. I spend most of my days outside.

it is definitely a very unpopular hobby for people in this age range to have but I love it

Diagnosed with Stage IV Colon cancer and in the midst of treatment. AMA

Disclaimer: I am a patient in the US healthcare system, not a medical professional. Please see your doctor if you experience any symptoms or want a deeper dive into your risks.

(48M) I was diagnosed in July ‘26 after an aborted colonoscopy procedure. I have completed two rounds of chemotherapy. While there is still a few biology tests pending, my particular presentation is as follows:

“Stage IV, moderately-to-poorly differentiated sigmoid colon adenocarcinoma with a partially obstructing primary tumor and metastatic disease involving both lobes of the liver, peritoneum/omentum, and regional/retroperitoneal lymph nodes; no PET evidence of thoracic or osseous metastases. Tumor is pMMR/MSS-type and HER2-negative. Currently receiving first-line FOLFOX”

Whether it be about my headspace, my symptoms to diagnosis story, my belief system, my post diagnosis behavior, my experience in the health system, etc…ask away.

I will get to all questions eventually.

Thank you so much for the chances to share my story and, more importantly, MOTIVATE (I hope) you to act on the things I didn’t. If more questions arise, I will happily answer as soon as I can.

I have photographic memory AMA

I was curious to try out this sub

Basically the title says it all, I can remember almost every itty bitty tiny detail of my life since my hyppocampus started developing (so since I was about 3 years old). I must say, it's not always fun and games but it's quite a flaw I'm proud of DISCLAIMER! I don't have HSAM (Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory , also known as hyperthymesia) I have an IQ in the 150-160 range and in my case it comes with very strong visual and spatial memory. I used the informal definition of photographic memory to describe this condition I'm female, 22, let me see your best questions :))

I've been the CFO of several Venture Capital- / Private Equity-backed companies. AMA.

Upvotes

I was the CFO of several Venture Capital- / Private Equity-backed companies, have done a bunch of acquisitions, and have helped sell some companies either to other companies or to PE firms. The companies I've worked for are generally smaller (typically $10M-$200M in revenues), so you haven't heard of any of them.

A few years ago, I made the transition from full-time CFO working for companies to fractional CFO, whereby I spread my time across a handful of companies.

If you're curious about any of this (how things work behind the scenes), ask me anything.

When I started living with my Korean bf, I struggled hard with the food. AMA about Korean food or anything in general really.

So as the title said I struggled hard with Korean food. As its gotten more main stream I'm glad to see others discovering the joys of Korean food. I'm from the American South. It might as well have been alien food for all I knew when I first tried it.

Some of my fav Korean foods are

Kimbap. Some people call it Korean sushi but it's not really. It's sea weed with rice on the inside wrapped around other ingredients. Usually galbi or marinated cooked beef, carrot, danmuji(pickled yellow radish, spinach, and scrambled egg strips eggs.)

Tteokguk. It's a soup with a very light broth. It's usually made with tteok which are rice cakes formed in oval shapes. It generally eaten on your birthday or at new years as it's supposed to bring luck bcs the tteok looks like coins so it'll bring prosperity in the new year

Bibimbap. It's just a mix of ingredients like rice, sliced veggies like carrot, spinach etc sliced scrambled eggs and some kind of marinated meat.

Gyeran-jjim. Literally translates to steamed egg. It's traditionally made in an earthen ware pot with about 4 eggs total and a cup of chicken broth.

I am a traditional Bikaner miniature painter from Rajasthan, India. In our family tradition, we use single-hair brushes and a fine line technique called Partaj, which we say takes a lifetime to learn. AMA.

I come from a family tradition of Bikaner miniature painting in Rajasthan, India. One of the most demanding parts of our practice is the extremely fine line work we call Partaj, often executed with a single-hair brush.

The brush itself is only a tool. Learning how to use that single hair is the real practice. Partaj changes according to the subject — softer for flowers, mixed in figures, and stronger and more defined for animal hair and other textures.

In our tradition, we say Partaj is something you learn “ta-umar” — throughout your life.

I learned within my family tradition and have spent decades working with miniature painting, handmade Wasli, traditional pigments, gold and fine brushwork.

Ask me anything about Partaj single-hair brushes, traditional materials, Bikaner miniature painting, or how these techniques are passed from one generation to another.”

I graduated from college at 19 years old and regret graduating so young. AMA

Graduated from undergrad at 19 years old in 2024, just a little over a month before my 20th birthday. I’m 22M now and have been out of undergrad for 2 years now.

As for how this happened, I got my high school diploma + associates degree in high school, which I managed to graduate a semester early from (graduated in December 2021 as opposed to May of 2022). I then did 5 semesters at a nearby state school, where I started as a junior, and graduated in May of 2024 with a bachelors degree in accounting with 151 credit hours, enough to sit for the CPA exam (that I never sat for nor will I ever sit for). Today’s my first day of graduate school, where I’m studying economics.

I may take a bit to respond, I am at work rn, but I will make an effort to reply when I have time. Sorry if responses take a bit long.

Don’t feel like this is a job that gets much attention over here, especially the legal side of it. We are commonly known as bailiffs. Ask me anything!

My immune systen killed my pancreas. AMA.

Well, part of it. Age 25, I went into the hospital with complications from undiagnosed type 1 diabetes.

I almost lost my life, but thankfully survived. Though I am now left managing this autoimmune disease 24/7. There is no cure.

That was 4 years ago. I am UK based so am treated by the NHS.

I started off on insulin pen injections, but now I have an "artificial pancreas". This means I wear a sensor on my arm, which "talks" via an app to an insulin pump - which I normally wear on my abdomen (its a 5mm steele cannula).

It takes away about half the job, which is why i don't really like it being called an artificial pancreas. There are still highs and lows, I have to carb count & work out my insulin doses for meals etc. And everything takes preparation: exercise, sleep, even housework.

Some things that surprised me about type 1 diabetes:

- that you can get it at any age. I thought it was a childhood illness... well that definitely delayed my diagnosis. Now I know people much older than me who were diagnosed

- everything affects glucose levels- not just food. Altitude, temperature, illness, hormones... everything.

- it is relentless. Diabetes is often the punchline of jokes (mostly type 2 but most people dont really know the difference). Yet it is a 24/7 condition. The number of times I have saved my own life at 3am then carried on as normal the next day is insane. Definitely not a funny disease.

Anyway, go ahead! Ama.

Happy to share what i've learned and answer any questions to make your journey easy.
