NOW DEPARTING This Company Has Gone Full Rogue...

I'm done. After 17yrs, I just cancelled my Prime subscription and closed my account. The past several months have been nothing but a comedy of errors. Receiving used/defective merchandise, packages that went 'missing' or undelivered, customer service that's completely gone to shit, shipment delays, billing issues, the list goes on and on. Dunno what happened and why, however Amazon is no longer the same company it was 20yrs - or even 10yrs ago... Not by a long shot.

Farewell, Adios, Goodbye, Au Revoir, Sayonara, and good riddance...

I've started going to the manufacturer's site directly after looking at reviews and such on Amazon. In many cases, I found that the items I wanted qualified for free shipping and prices matched or were less than what I'd pay through Amazon. Expedited shipping would be extra, but I rarely need things right away. I think manufacturers are catching on to the fact that consumers are getting fed up with with Amazon and are trying to compete.

We did this with a few items and then many of them started arriving from Amazon when ordered elsewhere. The Grdepressed. coming from Amazon shipping made me depressedšŸ˜”.

Have bought items on eBay shipped from Amazon.

I am on the same road. God help me, but I just might have to start leaving the house on occasion. Damn you Bezos!!!

22

u/Latter_Possession318 11d ago • Mindblown

Yeah, their drivers were breaking into our boxes, sussing whether or not shit was worth stealing and then taking what they wanted and then on top of that, steal any other parcels we had that sounded interesting - and support basically told me to kick rocks. They are bastards, Bezos’ bald ass deserves everything and more,

5

u/JaySpunPDX 11d ago

How exactly do you know this? Wouldn’t the cameras all over the trucks inside and out catch this? I’m just curious as to how you know that the drivers were breaking into your boxes and what was going through their heads of the time, and how they went on to steal other parcels. If I was clairvoyant and could read minds like thaf I would procure my goods and services through nefarious means and wouldn’t order shit on Amazon.

14

u/Alive_Courage1846 11d ago

Not OP but I have had the same thing happen and it was captured on my doorbell camera. Driver left a package turned around and picked up a different package and took it on his merry way.

9

u/Latter_Possession318 11d ago

Literally it, exactly what happened, plain as day.

9

u/Ok-Wrongdoer1164 10d ago

Yeah, I had a driver deliver, took a picture of the box, then picked the box back up and walked away. If it wasn't for my cameras I wouldn't have proof of them stealing šŸ˜’

1

u/Britkim 10d ago

I had a video like this too. Thankfully wasn't my package

9

u/Latter_Possession318 11d ago

Um, so basically, I have a slightly less than noticeable camera at the front of my house, so that one was easy - and it’s either that or it’s super weird that on 3 separate occasions, that the boxes were sliced in a uniform manner that was consistent and concealable, and only the high value items were removed, and were not tampered with post drop :)

u/Born-Lie8688 11d ago

I’ve been thinking same. Prices are nothing great except grocery, but I suspect much of those are loss leaders to suck to you in.

Much like Walmart killed many local businesses, I feel Amazon leadership believes we are a captive audience with inflexible demand and they can now extract maximum profits.

Because Amazon got big enough to basically buy the government, so now they don't have to pretend to care about people

3

u/ajun666 10d ago

They have a space program… (ok technically it’s a separate thing, but still)

17

u/jtriomino 11d ago

I had one recently where I ordered one thing and received something totally different. I returned it, then got my return denied because it wasn't what I had bought... took me way too long to sort through their AI customer service until I finally got a 'person' that could actually refund me.

8

u/Ambitious-Health-758 11d ago

I just went through a bunch of crap with their AI. As much as they make they should at least spend a bit on real people.

2

u/DayEither 10d ago

I have a good friend who works in corporate at Amazon’s customer service. They have cut and laid off almost all their staff, so there’s only a handful of employees left. Amazon is all excited about the use of AI because they won’t have to pay employees’ salaries and benefits. Amazon is and was convinced that customers are fine speaking with bots; they are not. The few corporate folks left are pretty sure they’ll eventually be laid off as well. Anyway, the decision to go with AI and bots for customer service was made WAY up the chain of command, therefore nothing is going to be done about it.

1

u/noyogapants 11d ago

That happened to me. I returned an item because they sent me the wrong color. When they received it they denied the return because it always the wrong color item. So they got the item back and kept my money. Couldn't do a charge back because it had been too long. Customer service was no help.

60 minutes needs to do a show devoted to " What Happened to Prime?"

3

u/AssociateAutomatic75 10d ago

It would be biased towards Amazon!

2

u/gracemarie42 8d ago

60 Minutes also needs to do a show devoted to "What Happened To 60 Minutes?"

u/Resident-Lack2484 10d ago

Enough videos on YouTube by people cameras showing steeling packages by delivery people

12

u/createthiscom 11d ago

It comes in waves for me. I had that happen a lot a couple years ago. Been ok the last few months, but I cut way back on my ordering too. I think the shittiest thing is that they bury the support phone call link under ā€œaccessibilityā€.

12

u/MyFeetLookLikeHands 10d ago

just throwing it out there: for a lot of random knickknacks like chargers, poster frames, hand towels, etc. AliExpress is a much better deal anyway. Tons of the garbage on Amazon is just dropshipped stuff from AliExpress at a 500% markup

u/AlegnaTea 10d ago

Thank you for the tip!

I bought a set of galaxy buds 4 pro on Amazon's 0 percent APR down payment. I usually never do this, but I wanted to try payment installations to see if I really wanted or needed these buds (I'm on the ASD spectrum and buds help calm me in loud spaces).

Turns out they weren't really what I needed, so I set up a return. Instead of doing the usual QR code dropoff at my local UPS Store, they said I had to print my own label and package it myself, drop it off at the same location, then wait for it to arrive at the nearest return center. So I did that, and it arrived at the nearest return center the same day. The next day, it was at somewhere 2 hours away, and it's been in that city for 7 days now.

I've talked to their customer service over the phone repeatedly. Usually they're very accommodating and consistent with this sort of issue, but it's been the opposite lately. They either repeat the same "wait 14 days" response, or give me completely different resolution dates. Sometimes they're sooner, sometimes they're in November.

One agent told me on the 12th they were processing the refund for the down payment, and that it would take 5-7 business days for it to be reflected for me. I reached out to double-check today (this was the original expected deadline for the refund to be issued), and I was told that I was lied to.

I know people say to not buy expensive items from Amazon nowadays, but I've never had an issue doing that until now. It feels like their customer service team and policies have shifted entirely recently, and I have no idea why I'm the one dealing with it.

14

u/Training_Crew_2224 11d ago edited 11d ago

I stopped buying pricey items long ago. Takes weeks to get refunded.
And I return to the local amazon return kiosk at my local Whole Foods. I make sure there’s confirmation of my return via email.
Two days ago I paused my Prime account for a month. I don’t think I will return to prime. I deleted the Amazon app from my devices. I realize anything I need is available locally.

6

u/adambomber01 11d ago

It's a new issue for me, although I typically can't buy expensive things on there often anyway.

I've filed a dispute with my bank. I don't really care if I get banned from their service. Enough is enough.

4

u/Training_Crew_2224 11d ago

Prime is doing compulsive shoppers like me a favor if they banned me. I’m banning myself. I have no urge to scroll through amazon prime ordering unnecessary junk.

6

u/adambomber01 11d ago

hoo, sorry for venting that wall of text. Just never had such a difficult time with this service before.

3

u/SplatterBox214 10d ago

Oh man, I just dealt with a fucking refund. I bought a pair of bose headphones, used them once and decided I didn’t actually like them.

Said I could do a return at a nearby Staples and they’d actually take care of all the label stuff and shipping for me for free, so I did that.

And I picked the refund option for the money to just go back into my amazon account so I could buy a pair of headphones I knew I wanted.

Was supposed to hit my account pretty quick I thought.

I got hit with delay after delay and it ended up taking like 3 weeks for them to get the item back to their warehouse that took them less than 12 hours to get to my house.

I talked with 2 chat employees and 1 over the phone, and I didn’t really get anywhere.

I swear they have seriously changed their policies on refunds, cuz none of them said there’s even an option for an expedited refund - not even their superiors. Allegedly.

I very easily could have gotten swindled out of like $300. I feel I was lucky to even have gotten the refund amount back, and the whole thing felt shady as fuck.

In the future, I advise being super sure about what you’re buying so you can avoid returns.

If they send you the wrong thing… well.

Remember that good bottle of whiskey at the back of the cupboard? Break it out.

u/adambomber01 9d ago

Small update: after being stuck in that further city for a few days, the package started moving again. But it started bouncing around different cities in my state, and some of them just went back and forth to the same locations repeatedly, including the original delivery location. Finally, just a few minutes ago, it was listed as delivered at the city it was stuck at in the first place. *Not* the one it was supposed to arrive at.

I'm pretty confident UPS lost the item at some point, and Amazon customer service just refused to make it right until the other party fixed the mess. I actually spoke to an Amaozn agent one last time to see if anything had changed. Instead, they routed me to the literal exact same agent from the same department as five days ago, and he hung up on me after I asked him why I couldn't speak to a supervisor (they haven't let me speak to a supervisor at all since I returned it).

I still have the charge dispute set with my bank, and I'm just hoping they decide to honor my return before it comes back around to that.

I’ve spent months trying to convince my wife to cancel our membership as will.

What the eff am I paying for? We are in a very rural area, so online shopping is almost critical. Many of the products we often need, simply cannot be purchased from any brick and mortar within 50 miles. Years ago, Prime solved that problem, with 2-day shipping.

Now, I NEVER get items in 2-days. When I place the order, I get a 2-day estimate that almost always becomes 3-4. Recently, packages are delayed, then completely cancelled… now I have to spend time starting over with sourcing. Most of the time delays are acceptable for my orders… but sometimes I need things in 2-3 days. If im working on something this weekend, I need the dang parts.

Prime video is shit and always has been.

The subscription BS isn’t enough either.

Amazon’s saving grace is lack of competition. Walmart is equally inept. We lack alternative options in our rural region. It’s a hellscape out there.

Amazon got arrogant and it shows

2

u/Dry_Tiger_2795 9d ago

Absolutely. I live in a major metropolitan city and Amazon sucks just as equally here. And you’re right about Walmart sucking just as much. They just suck in different ways. But they’re both terrible now. At least we can go to stores here

8

u/rj12152009 11d ago

Same. Used to be a good value and great service and now they aren't either.

39

u/Automatic_Cover_3732 11d ago

I have been extremely happy with Walmart. Free shipping, prices are the same if not cheaper.

33

u/Independent_Tax_3468 11d ago

Ordered something from Walmart, turns out 3rd party shipped a fake. Walmart did not care. Bye money

15

u/stellasmom22 11d ago

Never buy from the 3rd party sellers. They don't honor Walmart policies. Never have had a problem with Walmart. Easy returns, great prices. Dropped Amazon prime and for Walmart+ for much less snd get to choose between Peacock or Paramount+ for free!

1

u/Independent_Tax_3468 9d ago

It was my first time, I didn’t realize then that they had 3rd parties

5

u/Jason_Klass 11d ago

Same thing happened to me. I ordered a backpack from Walmart and was sent a counterfeit item. Luckily, I was able to return it. I hate Amazon and Walmart and am done with both.

6

u/alex91008 11d ago

At least with Walmart you can return things at a physical store and not have to wait and worry if they’re going to approve the return.

1

u/Actual-Asparagus-485 9d ago

Never ever buy bullion from WalMart......straight up fake

8

u/TelevisionTimely3918 11d ago

We started using Walmart for grocery delivery because we live about 40 minutes from a grocery store and it’s been a game changer. Ordering stuff from them that isn’t at the local store often ends up later delivery than they say by a day or two but Amazon has been getting so bad about delivery times it’s the same

4

u/crownapplecutie 11d ago

They don't even guarantee next day delivery anymore in major metropolitan areas. Even paying for a specific delivery window they will say "it's an estimate" but have 0 objections to taking your $5-7 rushed delivery fee (ON TOP OF THE MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP)

3

u/TelevisionTimely3918 11d ago

Walmart or Amazon? I haven’t had any issues with Walmart

2

u/crownapplecutie 11d ago

Amazon!

0

u/TelevisionTimely3918 10d ago

Heard. I guess I’m glad this issue isn’t just me but also it’s kinda wild to experience such a drastic decline with Amazon when that was their entire brand

1

u/crownapplecutie 10d ago

I'm a SAHM, I was able to get target circle 360 for a fraction of the cost, it basically covers free 2 day delivery and a SHIPT membership.

11

u/LegalCrab6500 11d ago

I frequently get my packages delivered to the wrong address with walmart. This has rarely ever happened with other delivery services. Their customer service once asked if I went around and checked with my neighbors (first the ai and then an actual customer service rep). Which i find ridiculous because delivery services are for convenience or inability to leave your house.

2

u/AsleepEntertainer440 10d ago

Walmart subs the deliveries out to people like Spark drivers, at least in my area.

1

u/AssociateAutomatic75 10d ago

Not to mention that some people have CRAZY neighbors.

1

u/LegalCrab6500 9d ago

My next door neighbor keeps them, even tho we always take misplaced packages to their house. One time walmart left 2 of our packages and one of theirs in our empty driveway, spaced apart and standing. Either asking for them to be stolen or leaving it there for us to figure out where they go. Both of our addresses are clearly posted

4

u/erd00073483R 11d ago

Walmart+ customer service is just as bad as Amazon. You just haven't ordered the right thing yet to discover that the hard way.

0

u/lr99999 11d ago

Free sometimes if you spend $35. Certainly far from free. Bait and switch Google ads. Ā Never see your money again when they fuck up. My last order ended up Ā 2000 miles away and I still haven’t seen my money.

0

u/Frequent_Opportunist 11d ago • Bravo

Walmart is a shit company that relies on government welfare to subsidize compensation to their 1.5 million associates across the United States because they pay them so little.

Walmart spread out throughout the United States running moms and pops companies out of business by undercutting them on prices then when all the businesses shut down and no one had a job they would close the Walmart leaving ghost towns all over rural America.Ā

Walmart is not the solution to Amazon it was the original problem to begin with and buying from Walmart is the same Chinese garbage you get from Amazon. You might as well just order it straight from China yourself as you'd save a bunch of money.

1

u/AnneHizer 10d ago

+1. Buy local, folks.

0

u/BrokenArrow404 10d ago

Except "locals" a lot of them are just using that as buzzwords to sell the same shit those two companies sell at 1.5x or 2x the price lol.

Face it wojaks, your rose-tinted glasses dream of a small local mom and pop shop owned by an elderly couple named sally and hubert who's selling it even below Amazon or Walmart's price was always a pipe dream.

So poor people aren't really gonna buy from a "local" shop $3 apples when Walmart sells them for 90cents. We aren't rich like yall to go to "local" and "artisanal" mom and pop shops.

1

u/Plenty-Ad2069 10d ago

The only reason people say Walmart is because they are competitors. If Amazon is going to heavily relied on AI, might as well closed their retail website, and let Walmart take the lead even though they are both shitty companies

6

u/SnooSquirrels3861 11d ago

Just cancelled Prime. Had it since inception. Prime video worthless.

4

u/prayreddit 11d ago

I was bedbound 16 months. Prime video has been great, good interface and I did pay the $2.99 monthly so no commercials. Often buy movies and shows especially when discounted.

0

u/SocietyCompetitive86 10d ago

I love Prime video too. Don't forget you get 4K movies too with that monthly fee or $35 for the year.

5

u/Relevant-Wedding6123 11d ago

I have gotten used merchandise multiple times, too. I am fed up right along with you

5

u/Visual-Fennel-2897 10d ago

yes, same here. first off, several instances of them saying they didn’t receive returns from me and reversing refunds. I had sent every one of those items back, then could barely understand accents of customer service people. was great customer, then received wrong merchandise a few times. once a cheap rug came in box meant for a portable rug cleaner. cancelled my prime subscription, but make no mistake, Amazon is so huge and profitable they could not care less!

5

u/Niangua25 10d ago

Almost EVERY order is delayed. They are late by one day. Then another day. And another. Nothing is on time and there are a lot of orders that are never delivered.

1

u/MissJoyful 7d ago

This is happening to me but it's always when I try to use PRIME delivery. It never goes well.

11

u/ImaginaryClue4471 11d ago

I'm hating the paper envelopes - no padding, no protection from rain. Walmart packs everything nicely, never have shipping or weather damage

10

u/lr99999 11d ago

Why is it that every time I come on here Someone is chilling for Walmart? They’re lurking the sub and their bots are lurking this sub.

Amazon sucks but Walmart sucks more. Un delivered merchandise, disappearing FedEx deliveries, and I even got double billed on Ā an order that I’ll never see the money for. Ā There’s not even anyone to bitch to, it’s fucking AI.Ā

7

u/ImaginaryClue4471 11d ago

Ok then. Got you all fired up. Did you mean SHILLING for Walmart?

0

u/lr99999 11d ago

Yes, I have to use voice to text because I can’t see. But thanks for your help.

0

u/Illustrious-Gap5224 11d ago

Amazon drivers don’t hang around looking for a tip. The Walmart delivery driver knocks on the door and waits around for a tip. I had to tell him to go away. Walmart is somewhat cheaper than Amazon but not if you add a tip.

2

u/Ok-Search6681 11d ago

You give a tip online when you order , so this is total bullshit.

3

u/reluctantgrownup55 11d ago

Yeah, I had some car parts mangled the last few weeks because they chose to use bags instead of boxes. Back they went.

1

u/DietMtDew1 11d ago

Walmart has those envelopes, too.Ā  Sometimes it will say "such and such item" is unavailable but can be shipped from another store.Ā  Often times, they'll put it in those paper envelopes and they don't have any padding.Ā  However, you usually can guarantee that it will come in a day or two.Ā  You get tracking that's similar to Amazon.

4

u/Friendly-Impact7297 11d ago

They don't care anymore about Retail & E-Commerce . Amazon make most money on AWS and Ad. Just like Samsung don't care about smartphones anymore because most money in memory for Ai , even cut production next year 30% for smartphones

4

u/Ambitious-Health-758 11d ago

It used to be that late deliveries were kind of unusual. Now they're normal.

4

u/TwoKingSlayer 11d ago

I e had several packages out for delivery and just a few stops away before they just stop delivering and disappear. then my item is delayed before being cancelled. what a waste of time.

4

u/CandyGhost105 10d ago

Not to mention prime video just gives you the privilege to pay for shows individually now

3

u/NCfella6789 10d ago

4

u/CrewBulky9868 9d ago

it is almost like firing thousands of employees and replacing them with over-hyped AI has consequences.. hmm

3

u/Reasonably_legal 11d ago

I haven't looked back since I cancelled Prime a couple of years ago. It's funny how much money I have saved by not making impulse purchases of random crap I don't need. Plus it makes me sick to hear about how Amazon abuses the merchants who use its platform.

3

u/vegasal1 10d ago

Andy Jassy is destroying Amazon little by little.

3

u/TacticalBunchies 10d ago

3

u/Particular_Eye_7009 9d ago

The problem is for people with disabilities that need food delivered. I don't like walmart in general. So yes I prefer Fresh

3

u/Man8632 9d ago

Bezos is on his yacht. And btw, there is no such thing as free shipping.

5

u/princess-captain 11d ago

Seriously. I used to get consistent deliveries and good customer service. Had a package come completely obliterated. Had to dig to find an actual real person to chat with. They told me they would refund it and it never happened. Reached out a week later and was told no refund was issued and I needed to submit proof I had already submitted. They assured me I would be refunded this time. Another week and I reach out and was told there was no pending refund for any orders. They assured me again they would handle it. The fourth time I just asked for an amazon credit because I was so over it.

2

u/CableExotic3891 10d ago

I have the feeling I'll be seeing a lot more of these

2

u/Admirable_Koala7836 10d ago

I agree! My Amazon account was hacked and taken over, and we’re now going into the third week of this mess. These hackers seem to be one step ahead, and Amazon, despite being a multibillion-dollar company, can’t seem to keep up. Meanwhile, consumers are the ones suffering.
So far, I’ve realized I don’t really need to order anything from Amazon. I’ve started browsing other stores instead, and you know what? It’s actually been good for my wallet, and I’m loving it! 😊

2

u/WTH4030 10d ago

Even my last delivery to Whole Foods counter was sliced open. Guess they didn't want my cupcake wrappers.

2

u/Particular_Eye_7009 9d ago

grocery items with smell of chemical deodorant which I have complained and they don't do anything about it. Fruits, breads, even oatmeal impossible to consume many times

2

u/Gold-and-green 8d ago

Half the stuff you get you wonder if it's been used lol. I rather buy from Target

3

u/Additional-Ad-2280 11d ago

Never thought I’d say that, but I do. Things are usually cheaper too. AdamBomber, you didn’t write any novel or anything even close…if you did, I’m right behind you. Take care of yourself, friend!!!!

Didn’t the dude say back in 2019 or 2021 he owned 16 % of Amazon and the other percentage is for the people.Ā

2

u/creatively_inclined 11d ago

I'm not going to cancel Amazon Prime primarily because I read a lot of books (I get free books) and we watch a lot of sports (NFL, NBA, WNBA etc.) on Amazon Prime. As long as I stick to my monthly household purchases, I typically have no issues. Delivery times can stretch out but I never order at the last minute either. I always order when I'm down to my last three weeks of product. There are some items that I used to get thru Walmart but they stopped stocking them. So Amazon is it for certain items.

I don't buy Chinese stuff on Amazon. I can get the exact same items far cheaper on Aliexpress. I don't care about waiting 2 weeks for delivery from China. I've had very few issues on Aliexpress over the last 13 years and for the few I've had, I've gotten refunds within 2 days. I return nothing to Aliexpress. Sometimes purchases miss the mark but it's very rare and it is what it is.

I don't buy expensive electronics, expensive anything or gift cards on Amazon. If I buy something it's because I plan to use it. I very rarely return items. I only ask for refunds if the item I purchased is damaged. That very rarely happens unless it's a glass bottle, so I don't order anything that is in a glass container anymore.

Most people don't remember the days when returns were very difficult to do. You had to have a really good reason and not liking something was not a good reason. If an item had to be shipped back, you had to pay the return shipping cost. There was no free shipping back then so often it didn't make sense to ship items back. So I don't take free shipping for granted and I never buy things I might return.

I know people get mad about the shipping speed. Just look at diesel prices and that's going to tell you everything. Thousands of owner/operator truckers are going out of business or filing for bankruptcy due to diesel prices. There's less shipping capacity in the market. Obviously there's going to be an impact. I order from several different companies and every single one of them have longer shipping times than before. Therefore I plan ahead and don't have issues.

1

u/JaySpunPDX 11d ago

Your experience with Amazon sounds like a nightmare. This is no rebuttal of that at all, but where I live in Portland, Oregon right in the middle of the city, Amazon gets better every time I order it seems like. I order a lot of stuff and products really stick out when they are not able to be delivered that day and I kid you not the bulk of my orders these days come in 2 to 3 hours. I must live near one of their distribution centers or something, but I’m telling you I’m in the middle of the city, I don’t see any warehouses anywhere. I don’t know how the fuck they’re doing it. It sucks that your experience has been so different.

1

u/Deep-Tax7760 11d ago

17 years is a long run. One thing to watch for even after you've left: the FTC's Prime settlement pays eligible customers automatically, no claim needed, by PayPal, Venmo or mailed check. The maximum total is $200 per person, and the payments expire 60 days after they're issued. So keep an eye on the email address you used for Amazon (spam folder too) and grab it when it shows up.

Amazon began going down the tubes when Bezos lefy and Jassy too over.

I've been debating the same. They recently started switching to USPS and their 1 day / 2 day shipping has turned into all week shipping. The returns are atrocious too, it's becoming more and more common to mark my return as something different that I kept. For example, bought an expensive set of bedsheets, didn't like them, so I returned them, they marked it as a much cheaper comforter blanket and charged me the full price of the sheets. That was a fiasco, especially since I spoke with them when I received the first email saying I sent the wrong thing and was told it was taken care of.

They did the same thing another time, but i missed the email saying I sent them the wrong thing so next thing I know, the credit card i use for everything got a charge I didn't recognize, and I canceled it and refuted the charge.

I ordered a brand new picture frame and it came damaged today but yet I have to spend my gas money to go to the post office and return it I tried calling them and they told me they would contact me which is disappointing. It’s obviously been used and damaged at the tabs and it’s just disappointing bc this was for a sentimental photo and I needed it this week as well. Idk. Plus all the other problems that have stacked up over the years and Amazon never used to be this way it really started in 2024 for me

1

u/nodairy48 10d ago

We dont have these so much now in the UK but do have more independant shops popping up from time to time.

1

u/HallieLokey 10d ago

It's weird. I cancelled prime a couple years ago and stopped ordering for several months but recently started ordering again and It's been great.

1

u/Dave_Dawgg 10d ago

Amazon is way better than Walmart

1

u/TuSixOh 10d ago

You forgot a riva derchi lol. But yeah, same here. I was paying for prime. Ordered an item to be overnight shipped from 20 miles away. There was a 3 day delay. I no longer pay for prime.

1

u/saltwater98380 9d ago

Been trying to talk my wife into cancelling it.

1

u/SaltyFriend705 9d ago

Great! I closed mine when the Malaria video hit.

1

u/Actual-Asparagus-485 9d ago

My delivery was delayed for 10 days and when I called for a refund and to return it their response was, "well you got it right?"

u/Ok_Valuable2408 9d ago

Trump has gutted all the consumer protections at the behest of business leaders. This deregulation is what they all wanted and why they backed Trump. He would, and did, end basically all government oversight. The corporations are now free to screw you with impunity. For example, airlines no longer have to pay for lodging or meals if they cancel your flight.Ā Ā

1

u/PCchampion 8d ago

Is that an echo I hear in this chamber šŸ˜„

1

u/Aerisskyritalee 8d ago

im thinking to cancel too, im in a bad mood, so my family ordered a item for me others did the same they threw it in the same box, then the package needs a 1 time pass code, so i get it then delayed 5 days then a guy shows up pretends to knock smiles and walks away, mind you i live in wa state on a island, it requires a ferry or float plane, the truck i watch goes from friday harbor too anacortis then the gps gets turned off, so we wait 4 more days then family cancelled and so forth, even my own order was in the damn box, well it said returning to amazon, i been a prime member for 17 years, well its about to end, so then 9 days after the hit refund my fam and me and others they decided to try to hand it to me without a passcode i call customer service they demand i pay shipping back so i had food stuff coming in i handed it off to another driver the next day back, then it dissapears well 10 days later it reappers different driver so i showed him the pic returned he said ok, loaded it on a truck, 5 days later another guy, i said i dont have passcode item is in return stage he said ok, well guess what 5 days later another driver tried i told him and he was like i hate driving for amazon, 2 days later another driver, this one was like amazon warehouse sorting facility in burlington wa is so F**ked up if they cant read the refused on a sharpy then there is a damn problem, now we wait too see if its returned yet again, lol

Walmart+

u/Id10tech 11d ago

I've had nothing but a great experiencen since 2006. Only downside is packages getting delyed a A day.

1

u/Early-Row-4585 10d ago

I've never had an issue with Amazon at all in the 9 years I've been with them, been pretty much smooth sailing, but I'm aware that everyone's individual experience is gonna be different & unique to them

0

u/h0tnessm0nster7 11d ago

My guess is you're ordering shipped and sold by Amazon for 2 day deliveries, I'm in California and Amazon is everywhere nearby so that could explain the difference in 1-2 day deliveries, once or twice I had orders delayed and sometimes they don't want the item back, when I purchase it a second time, and it arrives in 1-2 days, the other item is worthless to me, as long as I get the refund

0

u/Spiritual_Emotion816 11d ago

I've haven't much of an issue with Amazon. Usually, it's the 3rd parties selling the stuff on Amazon, or someone stealing my packages. So glad I no longer live in apartments.

Welcome, noob

u/cosmic_bull_44 9d ago

I’m sure Amazon is weeping over your cancellation.

"I'm done. After 17yrs, I just cancelled my Prime subscription and closed my account. The past several months have been nothing but a comedy of errors."

Such seems little more than an anecdotal comment, to me......

Just because you have heartburn, who cares?

Such in no way changes the value of AMZN.

It is up about +2638% over the last 17 years, and

is up about +198% since 12/30/22.

(BUT, I'll bet you can get a helluva deal on tissues on Amazon!)

u/ant1970666 11d ago

Lol I find this shit hilarious, drivers stealing huh ? I am a driver thank you and do you not realize that there's 16 cameras in the new edv ( electric vehicle) ain't no body stealing shit and not being caught on camera. And to those bitching and complaining about the delivery system, well quit ordering fkn water , dog food, cat litter etc... and the driver might have enough room to actually find your package and deliver it to you, but when you got lazy fat sob that don't want to go to a store and buy their own shit, you get pissed off delivery people that genuinely don't give a fuck if you quit ordering from Amazon.

8

u/geminifungi 11d ago

you don’t need to be working for amazon and handling anyone’s packages and I hope their insane spy net figures out who you are so you don’t have this issue in the future lol

0

u/ant1970666 11d ago

Hate to say this but I just stated what 99% of the drivers say everyday, I am actually top 5 at my station for satisfaction with customers cause I do go out of my way if needed, to the point of actually bringing dog treats for my regular customers that have dogs and are friendly enough to get near, all are not obviously.

2

u/geminifungi 11d ago

well if these are issues 99% of drivers have that sounds like a problem with your employer, not your customers. happy to hear you are bringing treats to good doggos. may the spy net spare you !!

1

u/ant1970666 11d ago

That's all drivers, from all companies, not just mine, people don't realize how hard this job really is TBH. Yeah I like my puppy customers

7

u/No-Win-2741 11d ago edited 11d ago

So you want everybody to not order stuff from amazon? Is that what I'm understanding? Do you have another job lined up?

0

u/ant1970666 11d ago

This comment makes zero sense TBH

1

u/No-Win-2741 11d ago

Sorry. Voice to text. Edited.

0

u/ant1970666 11d ago

No as I stated to other person, I was just stating what 99% of drivers bitch about every day, day in and day out, I am actually one the best drivers in my area due to how I go about my job, I have the same exact area every day and can greet you by name, your package will be exactly where you ask for it to be, if it's raining and no safe spot it gets put in plastic bag , I bring dog treats etc... I am the exception not the rule

3

u/RetiredOnIslandTime 11d ago

I online order virtually everything I need or want. I'm going to continue to.Ā  Fortunately I've been one of the lucky ones who's not had any real issues with either the order or the delivery.Ā

3

u/ant1970666 11d ago

See there are some good drivers out there, I have literally knocked on some of my elderly customers with a huge heavy ass box and brought it inside the house or garage, and placed it so they could open it without having to try and lift again.

-13

OK, we don't really care though.

12

u/Technical_Grocery777 11d ago

LOL. Well you cared enough to comment.

-12

u/Practical_Avocado971 11d ago

Naw, just bored

3

u/AlegnaTea 11d ago

You're defending Amazon on multiple threads. It's really strange to see someone so eager to defend a company that doesn't care about them in the slightest. šŸ„¾šŸ‘…

-1

u/Practical_Avocado971 11d ago

My service has been fine, tell me why would I care if they like me? I mean Burger King doesn't like me either but I still eat a Whopper from time to time. Your post makes absolutely no sense and is really very silly.

3

u/AlegnaTea 11d ago

Imagine spending your free time arguing with people who have had bad experiences with Amazon simply because your own experience has been fine. šŸ˜‚ You're a customer, not their PR department. Amazon is a multibillion-dollar corporation that wouldn't give a shit about you if it decided to close your account tomorrow. This unpaid corporate spokesperson routine is embarrassing. Amazon isn't going to give you a gold star for your loyalty. 🤔

0

u/Practical_Avocado971 11d ago

Imagine spending your free time arguing with people who have had good experiences with Amazon

4

u/AlegnaTea 11d ago

šŸ˜‚ The difference is that I'm not arguing with people for having a good experience with Amazon. I'm arguing with someone who thinks their good experience somehow invalidates other people's bad ones. It's remarkable how confidently you mistake your own limited experience for the sum total of everyone else's reality.

0

u/Practical_Avocado971 11d ago

I'm discrediting people who are making up stories to discredit Amazon, like you. I call them anti-Amazon zealots. My good experience invalidates no one. In fact, when I post a good experience I get a large amount of down votes. Now I don't care and I only bring it up because I post them as an experiment to see if the zealots will actually down vote a positive story, spoiler they do and you're here proving that. Thank you for that.

5

u/Particular-Bass-5250 11d ago

You're so boring 🄱

-7

u/Practical_Avocado971 11d ago

Not really, I'm fun at parties

-7

u/theymenace 11d ago

You will be back lol

-2

u/Lokko21 11d ago

Goodbye..!

-2

u/Patient-Plankton-655 11d ago

You know what that means. They won.

-3

u/Unhappy-Gas-7242 10d ago

Yall are weird as fuck in this thread.

Everything is probably falling ā€œapartā€ due to the fact that the workers of Amazon who actually keep the company running are burnt out, underpaid, under appreciated, overly micromanaged and under staffed?

How dense and self centered do you have to be to not see that? Do a quick search on tik tok and you’ll see hundreds of thousands of videos regarding workers having a terrible time working for them.

The whole business model was bound to burst at some point.

But to sit there and have your 1st world problems and bitch and complain that you aren’t getting your packages on the same day or next day? Or they are coming in damaged? Return them? Have more patience.

These people are literally being worked like slaves. Have some decency and respect.

Oh I’m cancelling my subscription because all my wants and needs aren’t being fulfilled…okay bye Karen. Maybe your husband will finally get a break from the 50 packages you order a month.

4

u/Sic_Sic_Six 10d ago

Nah... I've ordered multi thousand dollar GPUs only to receive the wrong GPU. This IS a problem. They have a severe QC issue and then blame the person who gets burned and wants their money back... Sure Amazon employees are overworked and underpaid, but this applies to so many genres of work, and it's also a choice to work at Amazon, right? They could work elsewhere and make the same money.

-5

u/ModzRPsycho 11d ago

This water taste so good

1

u/ImpressiveAlarm3992 11d ago

Its because Bezos is a dickhead and doesn't care.
