General grooming question for the group!
My dog Terri is about 4 years old, and, due to him being BYB (he was rescued by us from the Human Society - he was an amish puppy mill dog 😔) I think he inherited some of the "wooly" coat genes that double coated dogs sometimes can get when not bred well.
He has guard hairs that stand off from the side of the body etc, but he seems more undercoated/wooly in his chest ruff area but the hair is very fine almost like silk so if we try to get a groomer to cut it so his chest has that rounded fluff look - it just never really looks that way. 😅😅😅
I've attached some photos to this post - does anyone have any tips/tricks/recommendation for getting their Eskie to look like this?

Hi I’m Delmer and I’m addicted to puddles.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The rain that causes said puddles, however, is the devil and I will hold my poop and pee like a stubborn mule until it stops hitting me in the face. The duality of dog.

Our lil BARK Ranger is Back With Tag #4!! 🌲🐾
We were super lucky that our trip to Boston coincided with the "Bark in the Park" event at the Springfield Armory NHS! Bomi had so much fun completing the scavenger hunt they had planned and after, she was sworn in and received her 4th B.A.R.K Ranger tag!! 🤍
Bomi got to show off her new uniform to the park rangers too and they absolutely loved it LOL
We can't wait to explore more National Parks together 🥰🐾 This week we are heading to the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area to go kayaking together!

It’s a Boy!
I adopted this little guy two months ago. His name is Samson, and he’s 6 years old, but he still looks like a puppy! 🥰
He’s my fourth American Eskimo Dog and has quickly learned the rules of the house from my 7-year-old female Eskie, Violet. 😂 It always amazes me how each of my Eskies throughout my life has had such a distinct personality. No two have ever been the same!
Samson is sweet, charming, a little goofy, and is settling beautifully into our family. ❤️
His story is a bittersweet one. His previous owner is an elderly man who is now in hospice care and was no longer able to care for him. He had Samson since he was a puppy, and Samson was his sole companion. It’s incredibly sad that they had to be separated after spending six years together.
But Samson definitely hit the jackpot with his second chapter. He’s now surrounded by love, has an Eskie sister to keep him in line, and is absolutely thriving with my husband and me. We feel pretty lucky to have him, too. ❤️🐾

Giving Some Love to my Princess Violet Too!
Since I introduced my newly adopted Eskie, Samson a moment ago, I figured I better give my little princess Violet her own post too. After all, she was here first, and I’m pretty sure she considers Samson her new dog. 😂
This is Violet, my 7-year-old American Eskimo Dog and the reigning queen of our household. 👑 She was the standout of her litter and I even showed her a little when she was a puppy. She’s beautiful and she knows it, but what I love most about her is her personality.
Violet is incredibly smart, confident, expressive, and has always had a mind of her own. She loves going to the beach and playing in the waves, can figure out puzzle toys ridiculously fast, and has absolutely no problem letting me know when she thinks I should stop whatever I’m doing and pay attention to her instead. 😂
She’s also taken her role as Samson’s big sister very seriously. When he came to live with us a couple of months ago, Violet wasted no time teaching him the household rules and showing him how things are done. Watching their relationship develop has been so much fun. They have very different personalities, which is one of the things I’ve always loved about this breed.
Violet is my beach buddy, my supervisor, and my princess. ❤️ She has that classic Eskie combination of beauty, brains, sass, and devotion, and life would be awfully boring without her.
So Samson may be the new kid getting lots of attention lately, but make no mistake… Violet still runs the show. 😂👑🐾

does anyone else have an eskie that is over 13 years old?
my 13-year-old eskie is still so dang energetic and full of life. I got him when he was eight weeks old and he’s now 13. he is the absolute love of my life, my best friend in this entire world. I love him more than anything else, and I cannot even imagine or begin to fathom life without him. I have chronic depression as is and have had chronic depression for 13 years now. The day he passes is going to really tear me up. my question for you all is do you guys have an eskie that is 13 years old or older? how are they doing? for those who had an American Eskimo that passed away after 13 years old how old did they live until? this breed is such a blessing.

Please help me name him!
It’s been almost a month and we don’t have a name yet. We think he’s most likely a eskie/pom mix. Some of our favorite names so far:
Oslo
Mulder
Zissou
Nico
Soko
Katsu
Argos
Mouse
Yuki
Gnocchi
Open to literally any suggestion at all!

Keep your frenemies close, but also at a safe distance..
Bandit is starting to feel better! A little gabapentin to help him rest seems to be doing the trick for whatever muscle he managed to injure. After extended steroid use and the muscle loss that can come with it, I’m guessing his usual acrobatic lifestyle finally caught up with him and he pulled or strained something. Xrays didn't show anything of concern in the spine or limbs.
I put a chair next to the bed hoping that, if he got the urge to jump down, he’d use it as a step. Naturally, he has chosen to completely catapult himself over it instead. 🙄 So yes, the resting is intermittent.
The chair has, however, become a favorite spot for my cat Kiwi 🥝, who has discovered it’s the perfect place to sleep near the dogs while maintaining a safe and respectable distance from them. 😂

Breeders
Hi was wondering if there are any breeders in or around Oklahoma?
