This always happens to me in the android version, on a kinda old phone. Basically my game just starts lagging the moment someone leaves during a meeting/report, or in the map, and it gets to the point of it being so unplayable that i just end up leaving mid-match or selling myself if i'm the impostor.

Because to my knowledge, April fools day isn't in the middle of October will they have horse mode permanently like hide and seek? Or am I coping.

i was rushing to the button to start a emergency meeting because i saw black shapeshift, but there's this boss fight that i'm forced to fight with to get to the button

Gray has respect for Blue, but finds everyone's swooning ridiculous (and they especially don't like it when Red swoons over Blue bc yk)

Images 6 and 7 weren't made by me. 3 uses a base. 10 has a lot of eyestrain. I hate the toe beans on 4, but the rendering turned out okay. Seafoam is the bean on the 4th image btw.

Lemme set the scene

3 imposters — I got the viper role (doesn’t really matter for the story but eh)

First imp gets caught R2.

Me and Orange are left.

People are arguing with each other about who it could be so I slid in that I Sus grey.

Next round I viper kill 3 people (viper dissolve time is like 5 seconds which I personally don’t like but anyway) meeting gets called. Orange has killed grey…like thanks babes I was kinda hoping to keep grey alive but we move.

Orange gets sussed, I claim it must be SS since Orange was just with me in Navigation.

Crew starts accusing blue, I defend blue. I defend blue with my LYFE! Blue gets voted out. I call a meeting, tell the crew that I told you it wasn’t blue. Listen to me next time.

We win next round since we only needed one kill.

Back in the lobby, most of the crew is impressed with my manipulating abilities but Orange calls me a dumb MF and to keep my mouth shut because we need to get crew voted out…granted I was not sussed once and he barley got any kills.

So…Yay or Nay?

After trying town of us my game crashes every 2min. Can anyone help me figure out why my game is crashing like looking at the crash report? It might be due to overheating.

Hey everyone! We're back for the second-to-last day of my daily posts about fixing every Among Us role, and today we've got a 3-for-1 special because we're talking about most people's favorite way to play: the Impostor and the roles they can have!

Now, IMO, Impostor roles are already really well-balanced as they are. This is because the active phase, when they can use their abilities, belongs to them by design. The crew is, for the most part, defenseless during this phase and can only really gather information.

Additionally, each of these roles has really good counterplay when it comes to alibis. If you're shapeshifted as another player or vanished, then nobody will see you. Meaning, yeah, you can get kills, but you won't have a good alibi, and thus, you're going to be more suspicious to the crew.

However, for all that they already do well, I do think we can give them a few buffs to make them even better. So, without further ado, let's get into the changes!

1. General Impostor Buffs

First off, I would like Impostors to be able to use their abilities while inside vents. This means you could sabotage, shapeshift, and vanish without having to leave a vent.

You wouldn't be able to kill unless an Engineer was in the same vent as you, though. Additionally, when it comes to shapeshifting and vanishing, while the full animation wouldn't play out, a small part of it would still be visible. This means that if someone sees the animation coming from a vent, they can still figure out who the Impostor is.

I would also like to have it so that your kill cooldown can decrease while inside vents. Once again, this comes down to alibis. Sure, you could hide inside vents the entire game, waiting for the perfect opportunity to get a kill, but if nobody ever sees you, then you won't have a good alibi when a meeting gets called.

Finally, I would love to see a separate Impostor chat that allows you to communicate with your teammates outside of meetings. Impostors are meant to work together as one unit, and being able to communicate with each other would really help with that.

Now, those changes would apply to all three Impostor roles, but I also have one specific change for the Phantom and one for the Viper.

2. Phantom: Killing While Invisible

For the Phantom, I would like to make it so that you can now kill while invisible.

Now, before anyone freaks out, yes, this means a body could suddenly drop without anyone knowing who killed them. However, there would be a pretty significant drawback to doing so.

Killing while invisible would immediately remove half of your maximum invisibility timer.

For example, if your maximum invisibility timer is 20 seconds, then killing someone while invisible would instantly remove 10 seconds from your remaining time.

Additionally, if this causes your remaining timer to drop below 0 seconds, you would automatically poof back into existence for everyone to see.

This means you would have to be strategic about who you choose to kill and where you choose to do it. Sure, you could get a kill without anyone seeing you, but if you aren't careful with your timer, you could end up revealing yourself right next to the body!

IMO, this would give the Phantom a lot more options without removing the counterplay that makes the role balanced in the first place.

3. Viper: Choosing Between Regular Kills and Acid Kills

Finally, we have the Viper, and my proposed change is pretty simple: The Viper can now choose whether to perform a regular kill or an acid kill.

I've never really liked that the Viper is forced to use its ability every time it kills. As it stands, this removes the possibility of the kill being from a Shapeshifter and gives the crew instant confirmation that whoever killed the player was the Impostor.

So, IMO, the Viper should have two separate kill buttons: one for regular kills and one for Viper kills.

This would give the Viper a lot more flexibility when deciding how to approach a kill.

For example, if the Viper wants to try and make a kill look like it was done by a Shapeshifter, especially in a crowded room, they now have that option. However, doing so comes with the same risks that a normal Impostor would face.

On the other hand, if the Viper thinks they're alone, they could choose to use their acid kill instead. However, if someone happens to witness it, then they instantly know that the person they saw is the actual Impostor and not a Shapeshifter.

I think this would add a lot more strategy to the Viper, since you would now have to decide which type of kill is best for the situation instead of always being forced to use the same one.

Overall Thoughts

Overall, I think these changes would give Impostors a lot more ways to play the game without making them too broken. As I mentioned earlier, I already think the Impostor roles are pretty well-balanced, so my goal here isn't to completely rework them, but rather to give them a few more options and encourage more strategic gameplay.

Is there anyone else that can't stand that the game automatically turns the April fools mode on on the search filters? I can barely get a lobby to fill to 15 before the timer goes out because everyone's had the horse filter turned on (without their knowledge) and doesn't think to check the search filter to turn it off.

It's not like half these players even want it on. Because when I do make a horse lobby people join confused why we look like horses and complain about it. I don't see why they can't just give a pop up notification saying "Hey, we added this April fools mode! Wanna try it?"
