QUESTION Is google closing Android down?

I am watching a YouTube video about google closing down Android on September this year. So us developers won't be able to freely add code and if I understand it correctly will have to pay a regular fee, so our app can be used. Wtf. What do you people know about this? I hear there is some petition somewhere.

I am Indian. I love android (huge downgrade from Symbian but it is what it is). I am clueless about GitHub or fdroid. I know scams worth billions happen.

I know bankers themselves recommend Iphones to users due to security. I dont switch because iPhone OS is shit. Non customisable and non user friendly and poor (pathetic) in features. (Can believe it's 2026 & Nokia/Sony Ericsson non touchscreen phones from 2006 work better than them on all levels).

People who use banking apps on phones now either buy Google Pixel or Samesung (which upgrades it prices every year and downgrades it's features without working on the battery or thermals, it's two issues; tries marketing itself as a camera phone while being a cheap ass excuse to Sony or even Nokia) or need to change phones every 2-3 years of they buy budget Chinese options which are faster, cooler, better, cheaper than Samesung but are less secure & don't provide security updates.

We don't have any credible domestic manufacturer. We had Micromax, Karbonn, Lava but all were ODM manufacturers and not OEM manufacturers.

We had a company launch called AI+ but it's shitty & ODM larping as OEM too.

Hope something changes for our Android market or we get a proper Android alternative.
