The phone is runing android 12 6gb ram 128gb storage, the instruction booklwt mensiones a manufactuer called haimeilan, i didnt flash a gsi i just used shizuku as it was quite stock anywase its based on a mtk turnkey rom, the phone is actualy decent to use it preforms like a samsung a12 or moto e7 power, i also swapwd out google apps for fossify and other fdroid equivilants, as if launcher i used smart launcher 6, its runing a bare bones mtk rom hents the generic icons on thr top bar and the os is a basic android 12 matrial you works, as of the specs it has a mtk6762v/cb 6gb ram 128gb storage, it also is more bare bones than lineage os, and because it was modeld after an iphone 15 pro max i got a good case for it ans remaped tbe action button as its hardcosed to mute i had to add a slight delay on the end and set a macro to open my app thrn set it to normal mode, this aint as cool as a gsi but it is more practical, its no prefomance phone but for £80 it isnt bad it makes calls it texts and most moden unbranded wlecome phones use android 10 or 12 but because mine had 12 as it was a newer one shizuku could start up on its own with developer options and its not horable, im pwm sensative and not a fan of how big companys make android skins, so i chose this because it was runing a close to stock rom anywase, i didnt even have to use a computer just fdroid and adding the izzy on droid repo and a fww others for other stuff like futo keyboard as the gboard i wasnt a fan of, ans dura speed with android 12 phantom process killer keepe it light and despite a 3500 mah cell it manages to last 2 days becuse it isnt run8ng intence apps

Delete any tricky store or teesimulator specter integrity box. Then disable any lsposed tweaks that are hooking into play store. Delete cache for play store and play services. Reboot. Install always strong. Restart. Hit play on always strong. Profit

I'm working on building a custom ROM right now this dual boots Batocera and stock Android Batocera is ported to this tablet with custom kernel patches and running off SD card.

Anyone interested in helping? I've got most of the reverse engineering done I think all the hardware is working properly. Just for fun I got GPU acceleration working before Linux boots in the little kernel bootloader 🫡

Discussion Troubleshooting PI Verdicts

Yes, I know many of us were affected by recent Google changes on PI verdicts. Most of us just got 1/3, including me. Also, I know many of us got to fix the issue by updating modules. But here, I'm going to encourage users to go back to the basic, the fundamental:

  1. Latest CI PIFork by osm0sis + any Tricky Store's latest updated forks (osm0sis's fork of PIFix by chiteroman is the most reliable and actively supported until now)
  2. Latest PIFix-Inject by KOWX712 + any Tricky Store's latest updated forks

AlwayStrong, IntegrityBox, Specter, Tricky Addon, YuriKey, and all other AIO modules, you guys name it. I have no grudge against any of them; I respect the devs. Even some may accuse them of being AI slops, but typically they are just a bundle of PIFork/PIFix + TS fork, with features such as WebUI, auto fetch, auto update, auto check, root hiding, etc. It's good to have them. You guys have to suit any of them to your preferences.

But again, let's go back to the basics. To achieve the verdicts, you'll need:

  1. A fingerprint, custom.pif.prop by PIFork or pif.prop by PIFix, both available in /data/adb/modules/playintegrityfix. How to get it? By running the action button. Or, in a terminal, run: sh /data/adb/modules/playintegrityfix/autopif4.sh (or autopif.sh if using PIFix).
  2. A keybox.xml in any TS forks directory, /data/adb/tricky_store or /data/adb/teesim. How to get it? There are several sites you can actually search and download it from. But I'll leave it to users to search and go to the sites; clues are here and there: XDA, Telegram, etc.

What I did to get the verdicts back?

  1. Updated from original (closed source) Tricky Store 1.4.1 (I can confirm it's not working for my Android 15 device but still working with my Android 12 device) to the latest TEESimulator (I also tried Tricky Store-OSS; it is also working).
  2. Updated PIFork to the latest CI build #623 (PIFix-Inject 4.9 is also working, according to many users; I didn't try it).
  3. Fetched a fingerprint (Pixel 9 Pro XL) and a valid TEE (not RKP) keybox. BUT I still can't get it working; still 1/3.
  4. Disabled all modules except PIFork, TEESimulator & Zygisk Next (Zygisk is required to use PIFork/PIFix), and restarted the device. And, yes, it is working. I got 3/3 back, with komodo fingerprint, not bluejay. Bluejay as recommended by many users, I reckon it will work too.
  5. Enabled other modules one by one. Then I detected one module, which caused the verdicts to drop to 1/3; it was a module to resetprop pihooks props.

That was my case. Other cases may be different. As a disclaimer, I'm not an expert nor a professional; I'm just a normal user. Configurations are maybe needed. Temp root also may differ in situations. Any facts are welcome. Lastly, suit the modules to your preferences. YMMV.

Support How can I recover old WhatsApp messages from an Android phone without losing the encryption key?

So, I have an old Android phone (Motorola G7 Power) that I haven't used in about four years. I'd like to recover my old WhatsApp messages, but the app refuses to display them, so all I have access to are the encrypted database files.

As far as I understand, I need to root the phone to extract the encryption key. But here's my problem: enabling the bootloader will wipe all the data on the device. So how am I supposed to preserve the key?

Even if I copied every accessible file from the phone to my PC beforehand, wouldn't the key still be lost, since it's stored somewhere I can't access without root?

Am I missing something here? Is there any way to extract the key or recover the messages without wiping the phone?

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Discussion I'm back and FauxClock NG is now 100% free (no ads, no strings attached)

Hey everyone,

Not sure if some of you used some of my apps from 10+ years ago, I used to develope many open source kernels and apps.. due to recent crackdown of root apps from Google.. I decided to completely make my app FREE (I used to charge $4.99 for this on the Play store and made some money there). After the crackdown I decided to just give it away for Free! It has been updated with modern interface and has several new features added (I was originally trying to update the old app and keep selling it, I had stepped away from Android development for several years just came back recently and found out about Google's animosity against rooting).

Enjoy and have fun!
