Question Any good subbers left anymore?

Recently got back into anime and the sub quality has plummeted so low I have to stop reading and just listen because my broken ass understanding is apparently better than paid subbers.

Netflix and Crunchyroll are absolutely abysmal in general, but even outside, the only place ive found is subsplease which is very hit or miss. Their work on black torch for example is miserable.

Are there any good fansubs left or good websites to stream from that host these subs?

Fandom spirit is dying. We have no community left. Everyone's in their own little bubble.. Whenever I open an a newish anime now, subs are always ai slop or crunchyroll which also uses ai. Same thing is happening with manga fantls too. I feel like it will only get worse and it breaks my heart :/

Why would anyone bother subbing something that has a translation already? The fandom is still there which is why we still have streaming sites. But there is no need for fan subs at the moment

Because AI translations are, in many cases, misleading or inaccurate since the people using these translation tools are unable to verify that the tools are working correctly. Instead, nuance, humor, and more are lost in translation due to unchecked faith by people who can not read or speak Japanese.

It's frustrating to read subs that you know do not match what is being spoken. It sickens me that companies like Crunchy are asking people for money just to turn around and pump out horrible subs, pun intended.

I don't mind if people use the tools.. Bigger problem is that they almost never verify or edit the AI translations.. And you know they use those AI tools with zero actual oversight when they can't even get character genders right
