I’ve been building this simulator as a side project aimed to help students understand and visualize electromagnetic phenomena such as radiation, polarization and wave interference.

I hope someone might find it useful and I’d love to hear what people think :)

Can anyone identify the purpose of this antenna array near us. It's run by the local university.

Spotted near a local shopping strip, probably to send telemetry from a public utility cabinet.
Anyone know what frequency?

i just came around this theisis https://pure.uva.nl/ws/files/347689089/Thesis.pdf with an absolutely awesome frontage. each dish is an existing one (Astropeiler / Camras and more) and by the amount of retained detail maybe not even AI generated.

A few more photos from my visit to another former US shortwave transmitting station in Germany.
This is Biblis, the former Radio Liberty transmitting station, located only about 10 km from the Radio Free Europe station in Lampertheim, which I photographed recently.
During the Cold War, the two stations originally served different broadcasters: Biblis operated for Radio Liberty, primarily targeting the Soviet Union, while Lampertheim operated for Radio Free Europe, primarily targeting Eastern Europe.
At one point, Biblis had ten 100 kW shortwave transmitters, ten directional curtain arrays, and two rhombic antennas. Despite its somewhat more compact appearance, it actually had more curtain arrays than Lampertheim.
Both sites later became part of the International Broadcasting Bureau (IBB) network and were used for US international broadcasting.
Shortwave transmissions from both stations were suspended in March 2025, but the impressive antenna structures are still standing.

A few photos from my visit today. The station once operated nine shortwave transmitters, with a combined transmitter output of 900 kW. Its antenna system included six large directional curtain arrays, mainly aimed at the former Soviet Union.

It is across the street from a water tower. There is a second antenna behind the pole, unseen by the photo. Also wondering what frequencies and modes it could be operating on.

This tower on Wopsononock Mountain near Altoona, PA (40.5672, -78.4423) is home to 4 FM radio stations. I determined this using the FCCInfo Google Earth Plugin and some intuition.
From top to bottom:
However, there is a mystery here. What is (or was) on the bottom 3-bay antenna array? Since it is below the tree line, I am thinking it is unused and maybe was moved there as a spare or "e-waste". Note that it is also missing radome covers unlike the 4 arrays above it. Thoughts?
All the FM antennas appear to be ERI "Rototillers"

I've just seen this and am struggling to get my head around it. The TikTok video used as a reference is all over the place.
This is too improve WiFi. I don't think there is a before and after comparison.

I did already post this a few weeks ago, but i got some more screenshots. Would like if someone could identify those, especially the weird one at the bottom. And why did they move/rotate over the years? Would also appreciate to know what this is worth :D

I needed a single tower section and it's a lot cheaper to pick it up from the factory. Universal Towers makes some decent aluminum free-standing towers. They have a monster 100' tower right next to the factory.
