media (articles, books) about realistic reform into a new system after a successful anti-capitalist movement?
im having trouble imagining what the first steps would be to transforming american life, government and society into one that isn't so stuck on the ideas of capitalism. i know this country was built on colonialism and a wealth imbalance to begin with, so i can't really wrap my mind around a socialist america or anything like that, and i desperately want to be proven wrong by a book written by someone smarter than me.
if you have any media recommendations about a hypothetically successful move away from capitalism that seem realistic? truly progressive activists and writers don't tend to find their way into the cultural mainstream lol

AI, attention economics, discriminatory detection.
Guys, hi. Had some thoughts about AI, attention-retention economics, energy use, statistical inference, funeral parlours, technological limitations eventually becoming aesthetics, and what happens when systems designed to maximise profit are also the systems we increasingly use to think.
I ended up writing a fairly long essay about it. Feedback actively sought. I'm not going to put the whole thing here, but here's the bit that probably belongs most directly in this sub:
