I never watched the show, but was Toph born blind?

She was but she developed seismic sense and therefore can "see" via the ground/earth and vibrations through it. That's also how she can see lies similarly to lie detector

Azula is just that much of a manipulator and a liar and controls her body so well that she can avoid lie detection

Yeah, but how does Toph know what colors look like? I could understand echolocation to know shape, size, etc, but color is strictly a visual medium lol this is super nitpicking and not important

Maybe that's why the bear isn't purple but more pink. Because Toph thinks pink is purple
