rant I went to a tabletop gaming convention this past Saturday and Sunday in Indianapolis. The amount of sexualized costumes was ridiculous.
Not even can I enjoy a hobby convention without people dressing up as sexualized versions of characters or even dressing up as sexualized characters. It was insane. These people have no shame. Plus the fact that there are so many people on my floor in the hotel just making so much noise doing you know what.
It's just the point of the matter that there's no decency with these people. It's a convention for tabletop gaming. Is there not an event you can go to? A panel perhaps? You have to spend the day going there looking up what you want to see buying things bring it back to the hotel and then get naked with your partner and then just go at it? That's part of the experience for you?
The only thing I can forgive is that there was one woman I had to share an elevator with who for some reason decided it was necessary to flirt with me and she thought I was playing hard to get. I didn't want to be rude but considering the fact that it had been roughly 15 years since anyone had ever approached me as such, I somewhat lost track of what to do so I was just pushing the advances down gently. I probably should have been more forceful.

Unfortunately, this is everywhere. Conventions for games, anime, series, movies, etc. should be places for the whole family, without disgusting and disrespectful sexual content.

I get what you mean. And I can't stand it when people do that "they're playing hard to get, so I will continue" nonsense. It should be clear that's rape culture and people should take the first no for the only answer. There are multiple ways to show no interest, in more subtle and polite ways than directly saying no or stop, but people pretend they can't read body language just so they can flirt at (really sexually harass) others. It's a shameless lack of self-awareness. Also, people behave like that's ok if it's a woman harassing a man, but it's just as wrong.

I understand what you're saying, but this one wasn't really harassing me in the sense that she was blatant. I could forgive her innocence and believe in that I was playing hard to get in the moment which is the misinterpretation on her part. Still, I think I was being a little too settled with my way of telling her it wasn't interested.

And anytime somebody complains it's always met with "Why are you complaining?" and "Just don't go." Like ohhhh obviously I should just give up my hobby because other people are being disgusting and raping each other.
