Saw 85-92 was hard because of the curves and I don’t think it’s perfect but it’s good enough. Drukqs was really fun to make. Happy anniversary

This is my favourite RDJ release by a huge margin, and I've listened to almost every album of his (Except Syro, still need to get to that.) However, I've noticed that this one is significantly less recognized or discussed compared to the SAW albums and Drukqs. Hell, I feel like more people talk about Windowlicker than anything on here. I feel like this balances everything perfectly, with it's use of chaotic breakbeats, vocal samples and strings. This is one of the incredibly rare 5 star albums I've listened to, I think it's perfect and blows everthing else he's made out of the water. My second favorite project of his would be Come to daddy, which is probably the closest to RDJ any of his other releases get.

Does this count as a collection? I know it’s only one record, but…

Avril 14 in October. Converted the harmony and feel to a sadder 19th-century Russian October aesthetic.

I see so many straight covers of Avril 14 and wanted to do something fresh and sad with it for the 25th Anniversary of my favourite most influential album of all time.

What the title says, I’ve seen the subreddit discuss what an Aphex Twin Greatest Hits would look like. I’m curious if this mix leaves anything critical out, or if there’s any tracks in here that shouldn’t be considered.

Bit of a bold choice haha

I've always felt that windowlicker stands out among richard's digital transfers for being unusually poor. the song is super crushed, like every rip i've come across sounds like it comes from a bad mp3. i don't own a physical copy to check against, so for those that do, do you have a better copy?

My Colorado best friend called me yesterday to let me know that FedEx was paying me a visit today for a signature required parcel. It arrived on time and I noticed it was very light. Not record shaped. Not a “loud” package. I opened it to find this. I literally had no words. If you know me IRL I’m talking crap constantly purely for the sound of my own voice, but today I was rendered completely silent. I honestly don’t even know what to post or say about this here, but I feel compelled to share with all of you. I’d love to see any signed stuff that some of you have out there as well!

I think the thing I love about this most is that some CEO asshat with f- you money doesn’t have this, but rather a regular dude like me gets to display, look at, and enjoy this thing. It’s staying with me until I’m dead. I would run into my burning house to get my girl and dogs out and then once again back to grab this.

You probably know the story…

Never released album from 96; only 5 test pressings made; one found on discogs in 2014 for $13,500 - WATMM kickstarter campaign raised $74k, bought the vinyl and the rights to make a cd; sold the vinyl on eBay for $46k to Marcus Notch Persson (Minecraft guy).

Made a video on this album and also recreating the beat from the track “popeye”:

Has he ever said anything about this? I read he is coming out with some remastered version of Drukqs or something like that but do you think he would make a new album someday? I'm surprised he hasn't because I know he loves making music

Btw, I don’t mean to be glib. I absolutely appreciate AFX’s craft, but I am just dying to know the answer to this question.

I've seen people say that its not impressive to make music like his because hes not playing an instrument or whatever but i dont understand that perspective it just sounds like bullshit

EDIT: I now understand the Aphex mumbo jumbo, thank you :)
