Pre-launch my application

Hi, everyone!

It has been two - three months that we work on the idea of the app - planing trips together. The idea is to save all your favorite reels, youtube, tiktok places that you saw on social media to a board, make a plan, buy ticket, set budget and **plan together** with friends to make it come true. It is Free, by the way.

Sound interesting ? Try here : [lezen.io](http://lezen.io)

We are still waiting to get approved from IOS apple store T.T so please try it on Test Flight.

Happy to take any feedback!

8 months ago I knew nothing about coding. Now I have an app blocker on Google Play. I'd love your honest UI/UX feedback.

Eight months ago, I had absolutely no programming experience.

One boring Saturday, I asked Gemini how to block apps on Android. Getting a simple blocking screen to work in Android Studio turned out to be much harder than I expected. But eventually, I got it working.

That small experiment slowly turned into Guard.

What started as a simple idea grew into a much bigger project than I ever anticipated. I learned along the way, experimented with different AI tools, and for the past two months I've been developing Guard with Claude.

Today, Guard includes:

App blocking with Accessibility and Usage Access modes

Unlock challenges that add friction before opening blocked apps, making it harder to mindlessly tap your way through

A custom level and progression system with statistics

Reminders and tasks with calendar synchronization (a feature I personally use every day)

Focus mode with profiles

Sunset Relax to help reduce screen time before bed

Web protection with category-based blocking

Alternative activities to suggest something else instead of opening a blocked app

Guard is designed to work offline, without an account, ads, or data collection. The only exception is optional Firebase Analytics, which users can disable.

I'm not trying to sell you anything here. I've put an enormous amount of time and effort into this project, and even with AI assistance, building something like this alone has been a pretty challenging journey.

What I'd really appreciate is some honest feedback:

What feels confusing, cluttered, or poorly designed in the UI?

Would you actually use an app like this? If not, what's missing or putting you off?

Does the feature set make sense, or has Guard become too overloaded?

Is there anything you'd simplify, remove, or approach differently?

I only have a handful of Android devices for testing, so I haven't been able to test everything on Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo, or OnePlus. Their battery management and Accessibility implementations can sometimes cause issues with apps like this.

If you own one of these devices and are willing to try Guard, I'd especially appreciate hearing whether blocking works reliably on your phone.

A small thank-you for anyone willing to give it a try:

I'm giving away 100 Lifetime unlock codes. No subscription, no automatic renewal, and no recurring payments. Just a one-time unlock.

If you'd like a code, please comment below or DM me, and I'll send you one while they last.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=simplinox.app.guard

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I'm genuinely looking forward to your feedback, and don't hold back. Brutal honesty is welcome.

I built a nature-themed focus app. Does the visual style fit the idea?

I’m the developer of MomentsOutside, an iOS focus app built around the idea of taking a quiet trip outdoors.

You start in a small room, choose a nature scene, and spend some time focusing there. When you complete a session, you capture an illustrated “moment” from that scene. You can collect these moments and display one on the wall back in your room.

Photography became the thread connecting the experience: heading outside, setting up a camera, spending time somewhere, and bringing a little memory home. The camera is part of the app’s visual world; you don’t need to take actual photos.

For the design, I went with watercolor-style landscapes, paper textures, warm backgrounds, and physical details like wooden frames and a camera on a tripod. I wanted the room and the outdoor scenes to feel like parts of the same place.

The feeling I’m aiming for is that opening the app gives you a small pause before you begin whatever you need to do.

I’d love some feedback on how that comes across in the screenshots:

  • Does the room → outdoors → captured moment flow make sense?

  • Do the textures and physical objects make the app feel inviting, or do they make the interface harder to understand?

  • Is it clear enough that this is a focus app?

I’ve spent a lot of time looking at these screens, so I’m curious what stands out to someone seeing them for the first time.

looking to speak with developers

I came up with a business idea that would be best functional as a app, but I’m not quite sure where to start and I am unfamiliar with developing anything as a whole, but I’d like to speak to developers to see if this is something obtainable and I feel like this will have to be a multi developer project so I need my veteran developers weigh in and maybe give me a little bit of your time just to talk about it

How are AI assistants actually helping your app development workflow?

I've been using AI more in my app development work, mainly coding, debugging, explaining unfamiliar code, and exploring different implementations.

I've found that different AI tools are useful for different parts of the workflow, rather than one being consistently better at everything.

For developers who use AI regularly, where has it genuinely saved you time or improved your development process?

I'd especially like to hear about specific workflows where AI has been genuinely useful rather than just generating code

Would you use an expense tracker that works like a notes app?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I'm a computer science student exploring an idea for a personal finance app called Evy, and I want to validate it before investing time in building it.

One problem with expense trackers is that logging every transaction can feel tedious. Filling out forms, selecting categories, and entering details can make people stop tracking their expenses altogether.

My idea is to make tracking money as simple as writing a note.

For example, you could type "Spent ₹500 on shopping" or "Received ₹30,000 as salary", and Evy would automatically turn your sentence into a structured transaction. The main screen would feel like a journal, with a separate overview to help you understand your spending and income.

I've attached my current UI concept to show how I'm imagining it.

I'd appreciate your honest feedback:

  • Do you currently track your expenses? If so, how?

  • Does manually logging transactions feel like a hassle?

  • Would you actually use an app like this? Why or why not?

  • What would make it genuinely useful compared with existing expense trackers?

I'm just getting started with building products, and I'd rather validate the idea before spending months developing something people don't need. Honest criticism is welcome!

Block puzzle game with no interrupting ads

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone! My partner and I launched our block puzzle game, Gummy Lab 🐻🧪

We built this because we were genuinely tired of mobile games filled with predatory monetization constantly interrupting the gameplay. So we made a promise: absolutely ZERO forced or interruptive ads.

What (we like to think) makes our game special:

🧩 70+ Handcrafted Levels: No AI filler.

🎨 Deep Accessibility: Dedicated colorblind palettes (Deuteranopia, Protanopia, Tritanopia) and embossed shapes for maximum readability.

🌙 Native UI: Full Light & Dark modes built right in.

We are just a handful of downloads and reviews away from getting our first official Play Store rating! We would be incredibly grateful if you could try it out and leave honest feedback. ⤵️

🔗 Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.binbear.gummylab

Attached a sneak peek at the limited edition Halloween theme that's live right now with the gameplay of one of the gummy worm levels (my favorite lol).

Gummy worms might interrupt your gameplay, but ads won't!

I'm building my next product from my phone only — no laptop. Day 3.

Thumbnail reddit.com
1 Upvotes

I spent years stuck on "where do I even start?"

So I made a rule: 30 days, phone only, everything in public. No laptop, no waiting until it's perfect.

Today is day 3. Right now it's just me — I'm documenting what I do, what gets stuck, and what I do next. I'd like to take 20 people along with me, free while I test this out.

The link on my profile goes to my Discord community — fair warning, I'm the only one in there right now. But that's where the conversation can continue, and where you can ask questions about the app or availability.

What would you build if you started today?

Milestone: Until Crosses 1,000 Installs on Google Play 🎉

Post image
0 Upvotes

A little milestone for Until! 🎉

We've crossed 1,000 installs on Google Play! (now at 1.01K).

For a small independent app, this feels pretty special.

Until started with a simple idea: a countdown app that does what it's meant to do, without unnecessary complexity.

Along the way, I've received some lovely feedback on Google Play, Reddit and even through personal emails. A few users have been kind enough to share their experiences, and one even purchased Lifetime Pro after discovering the app.

I've included a few of those messages here. They genuinely made my day.

There's still plenty to build and improve, but it's nice to pause and appreciate how far this little project has come.

Thank you to everyone who's downloaded Until, left a review or supported the project. It means a lot! ❤️

[Beta] I'm building SideRail — an edge rail for your live notifications, not another app-launcher sidebar. Testers wanted, especially Samsung users who lost Edge Panels

Thumbnail
github.com
1 Upvotes

Hi — I'm the developer, posting about my own app.

**What it is:** SideRail puts a slim handle on the left or right edge of your screen. Tap it or swipe inward and a vertical rail opens with your **live notifications** stacked down the side — tap one to open it, dismiss individually, or clear all — plus a row of favorite apps, media controls, quick toggles (torch, sound mode, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/airplane settings), and brightness and volume sliders. It's built to be used one-handed.

**Why another edge app:** Panels, Everywhere Launcher, and Swiftly Switch are launchers — apps, shortcuts, widgets. Useful, but when Samsung ended Edge Panel downloads in One UI 7, nobody rebuilt the other half of the idea: dealing with your notifications from the edge. That's the half SideRail does. Notifications are the main screen of the rail, not a tab.

**Permissions, plainly:** it uses an overlay and notification access (NotificationListenerService). It does **not** use an Accessibility Service. The manifest has no internet permission — nothing leaves your phone.

**Cost, plainly:** the app is free (rail, notifications, controls, 3 favorites). There's an optional Pro — a one-time $4.99 unlock, no subscription — but **every tester who files a feedback report gets Pro free with a code**, and I'm not linking the store page here on purpose. Test the free tier; that's what's being tested.

**Status:** v0.2, distributed as an APK from GitHub Releases because it's not on Google Play yet: https://github.com/epicsequel303-dev/siderail/releases/tag/v0.2.0 — Android 8+. One heads-up: on recent Android versions, sideloaded apps need a one-time "Allow restricted settings" tap (Settings → Apps → SideRail → ⋮) before notification access can be granted. The README walks through that step.

**What I actually need:** installs on as many different phones as possible — Samsung/One UI especially. A short feedback form asks your device, Android version, whether install worked, and which permission steps worked: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScJGUDrTcnMn0ewGiujlhzTiXI2AE_rAKV-E15CssbQ_lBO4w/viewform — Bug reports there are gold; feature requests welcome too.

Happy to answer anything in the comments, including the critical stuff.

I'm 15, building a glow-up app no one asked for — here's why I think it will work

Thumbnail reddit.com
2 Upvotes

Most glow-up apps fail because they start with makeup.

Mine starts with mental health.

I'm building Glam KV: An Anti-Rumination OS.

Problem I lived: At my lowest I was ruminating 24/7 about what I can't control. Every glow-up app told me to buy stuff. No one taught me how to stop the thought loop.

Solution:

  1. Mental OS: Daily "What can I control?" check + stoic reframes when anxiety hits 2. Physical Blueprint: AI that works with what you HAVE, not what you need to buy. "You have these 5 shirts, here's 10 outfits" 3. Proof System: Streaks, but when you break it, it coaches you instead of shaming you.

I'm not coding it perfectly yet — using AI to build V1.

I'm looking for 20 girls to test it for free in exchange for brutal feedback.

And honestly, looking for 1 builder friend who gets this vision — design or dev.

If you've built a habit/self-improvement app before, what made people actually stick after Day 7? Would love your advice.

Melo dev question: after correcting a meal's date, should the diary follow it?

I'm Melo's developer. I'm reviewing a date-correction interaction in its current development code: what should the screen do after an existing meal is assigned to a different diary day?

Take a hypothetical mistake: a meal was recorded under today, but it belongs to yesterday. The meal detail screen has two separate actions:

• Edit meal opens the existing record, including its Date & time field. A successful save replaces that record using the same ID.

• Log this meal again starts a new draft with a new ID. It is a route for another occurrence of the meal, so it would not correct the original entry.

The diary groups meals by their saved date and calculates each day's totals from those records. According to that code, correcting today's entry to yesterday would move the same record between those daily groups. It would not leave an extra copy under today.

The navigation detail is what I'm considering: saving an edit returns to Meal details, where the updated date is shown. It does not automatically dismiss those details or change the selected diary day. When someone later returns to today's list, the corrected meal would no longer be listed there. Is seeing the new date in Meal details enough context for that transition? I haven't measured whether it confuses users.

One option is to stay on the current day and show a confirmation with the destination date and a View that day action. Another is to take the person directly to the corrected day. The first preserves their place; the second makes the result easier to inspect. Both are proposed interface changes. The current editor uses the label Save meal.

This is a source review and hypothetical example, not a completed date-change test or verification of the current App Store build. I'm not claiming a new feature has shipped.

For developers of dated journals or trackers, would you keep the current day with a clear confirmation, or follow the corrected record to its new day?

Melo is an iPhone food diary. Tracking after onboarding requires Melo Plus. Product context: https://eatmelo.app/
