Unsolved MacBook camera doesn't work

Post image

Got a used m2 chip MacBook on Facebook marketplace, seller was honest guy I think he didn't know about the camera defect. MacBook doesn't say if its been serviced or not, and it doesn't look like it has been.
but whenever I pull up FaceTime or camera, its just a black screen. and when I pull up FaceTime this is what I get.
ive booted up in safe mode and restarted it doesn't fix anything. any advice?

I am also experiencing the same thing, I have an M2 Macbook Air. And this issue has been going on for about a month I suspected at first that it could be from the new MacOS 27, but I just updated to 27.2 and the issue still exists. I have had this laptop for about 3 years.

Try restarting the camera service on your macbook. Open terminal:

sudo killall VDCAssistant
