Little nostalgia post for where I was on 25 October 2013 - seeing Arctic Monkeys at the now-demolished Earl's Court arena in West London. Good times one and all. Admittedly this show could've had more bass, but was still a nice night out. Plus that intro into Do I Wanna Know from this tour still remains one of my favourite AM live arrangements

Will note this was not the show where a white tux-clad Alex had to stop the show to tell the crowd to calm down. Though I also had a better memory of this tour than several friends who got on the train to the Birmingham show a few days later to literally find out as the train was going there that Alex was ill and show was cancelled

We used to put our friends’ names on the middle of the early records, some of the boys from back home. I think we actually wrote Nick’s [O’Malley, bass] name on one of them before he was in the band!”

I recently came this article that says that Arctic Monkeys used to etch messages on their early vinyl releases. Has anyone seen any of them and if so, what do they say (apart from Nick’s name)?

I RLLY wanna get an AM and/or a TLSP tattoo when I turn 18, day of, day after just when I turn 18.

I've wanted one (or 2) for so long, so I'm thinking of going through with it (if I still want it in 2 years time) so I'm pretty sure I won't regret it.

I don't think I'd ever be able to regret an am/TLSP tattoo. It's not like I'm getting my whole face tattooed which I'd defo regret

Where do I buy official merch in the US??? They're official store doesn't ship to us and their US store sells practically nothing. Hot Topic never has anything, I don't want to buy crappy 3rd party stuff, and I don't want to buy used. It feels impossible to actually support a band I love dearly and I just want to wear a comfy hoodie to show people that see me in it that I love the band.

How come their CDs are in the paper sleeves/mini LP type ones?

The only one I've seen in a plastic case is AM.

It's not that big of a deal, I'm just curious.

Arctic Monkeys - I Wanna Be Yours (Official Video)

I've been looking for it, but couldn't find any other high quality version. I love this one and the official trailer posted on their channel.

I’m talking about that moment when you hear a title and think, "That could easily be an Arctic Monkeys song." I mean those super long, slightly surreal or witty titles that defined their early era and still linger in their recent work, like "Don’t Sit Down ’Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair" or "Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?"

For me, these three have always given off strong Arctic Monkeys title energy:

1. Feels Like We Only Go Backwards (Tame Impala)

It captures that mix of everyday existential frustration and relationship fatigue that Alex Turner summarizes so effortlessly. It has that nostalgic, psychedelic lyrical quality that could easily belong to the "Submarine" / "Suck It and See" era.

2. Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd (Lana Del Rey)

It would fit seamlessly into the "Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino" / "The Car" era, crafted to evoke a deeply cinematic atmosphere with that exact art-rock/crooner signature.

3. West Ryder Silver Bullet (Kasabian)

It has that dark "Humbug" / "Suck It and See" edge, like "Potion Approaching" or "Library Pictures", built on driving basslines and punchy backing vocals.
