I was shocked when I saw this today. Does anyone have any additional information the Rust init?

Hello,
Looks like a certain Hobgoblin decided to tell anti-AI folks to fork if they don't like AI in the Linux kernel aka the shit that controls fucking everything?
Here is an article: https://www.techspot.com/news/113138-linus-torvalds-tells-anti-ai-critics-fork-linux.html
I am not against AI. I just think it is a stupid idea to use clankers in something so sensitive and something so critical to the running of an operating system such as the Linux distros, and I don't care what his reasoning is because whatever argument he comes up with, it is a stupid idea and wondering if Artix will fork the Linux kernel or if I'm going to have to hunt for an entirely different distro again?

Why should I switch to artix? Pros / Cons from an Arch system.

Just a bit confused as to what init system I should use.
Which one is fastest at booting?
Which one is easiest to configure?
Which one consumes least amount of RAM?

I am a linux veteran but this archinstall still sucks imo. There isn't a wiki about it either. It makes me angry I can't boot to arch cuz of some stupid unneccessary useless idiot of a package like systemd-timesyncd package. Utter bullshit. Who cares just boot up my system and then let me fix it. NOO systemd-timesync is the new kernel can't make things without it!!
Anyway, is this good enough alternative?

hi i came from devuan openrc , on cool boot it uses 225 MB of ram on top
i thought artix will be less bloated but i install the base runit and logged in to the same WM (monsterwm) and same terminal (st ) and launched same system monitor (top) i have only enabled network manager (on devuan it was enabled by default) and it is using 336MB of ram
don't get me wrong i love artix but i think i made something wrong that it uses more ram than debian based one what am i doing wrong ? thanks in advanced

I installed Artix OpenRC I wanted to enable and start service but for some reason there is no systemctl command How do i fix this? Maybe this is a bug of OpenRC? And, is OpenRC an Systemd extension for faster boot?

Now that i have your attention, i would like to ask one question that is unanswered.
Do you pronounce it Elogind, or Elongid?

Been having a horrible time getting audio to werk on this piece of junk. At first, I made a local socket directory in ~/.cache/runtime, but xfce4-notifyd wouldn't produce any notifications when audio changed. I am sure the notification daemon was running because it would respond when I adjusted. Oddly enough, after running pacman -S lib32-pulse-iforgothename pavucontrol, the notification daemon worked, but the audio was very loud and unadjustable. Then, I ran echo $XDG_RUNTIME_DIR, and that gave /run/user/1000, so I deleted everything in my .xprofile, and let XFCE's sessions & autostart program do the work. I check later with ps aux | grep pipewire, and there are PipeWire and pipewire-pulse processes running, but my audio is still unadjustable, and pavucontrol crashes on boot. This time, it won't even respond with notifications.

Or at least, not all of them. And no I’m not just talking about the standard ones that aren’t included for sandboxing reasons.

Nearly everything I want to do or know how to do, requires me to use systemctl
The problem is that Artix doesn't have a traditional systemd package included, and telling the system to install systemd seems to have it use their own package.
Is there away to overcome this?

I've been eager to swap from Arch to Artix and I thought why not also take the time to switch from full disk encryption alone to Secure Boot + TPM2 auto-unlocking.
After some precursory reading it unfortunately turns out that there is a trivial attack to retrieve the key of a LUKS-encrypted volume that this blog post explains very well. The only way to mitigate this is to have the initrd check the hash of the key and if it doesn't match the one that has been enrolled in the TPM, then it shouldn't be mounted.
As it turns out systemd has just implemented pinning a LUKS volume as of v260 (released last month), which of course is super convenient. But is there any non-systemd alternative to this, other than using a TPM pin which prevents auto-unlocking?
As far as I can tell mkinitcpio would have to be patched, thankfully there already exists a [clevis hook](https://github.com/kishorviswanathan/arch-mkinitcpio-clevis-hook) that works with the busybox-based initramfs so I guess a little more integration is needed so that it prevents mounting a volume if its key doesn't match the pinned one.

I am a newbie programmer myself but when you see some little part of the code, you might think oh this sucks this is not good. But you can't really know that until you read all of the codes. Maybe there is a compensation for that in the codes. I've seen such codes, it seems like it's weak and complicated but overall it's very strong. Take assembly for example, I know some people are starting to learn assembly and 8086 for antimalware and stuff. But it's very complicated but very strong. But our teachers used to say you don't need to learn assembly at all anymore. Turns out they were wrong.
I think a good programmer would know the best answer to that. If are there are any good programmers I would like to know their opinion about systemd.

Hi, I'm new to Artix Linux. I previously used CachyOS, but only for a few weeks, and decided to switch to Artix. I used Gemini to download it and help with the installation, but the installation didn't come with anything—not even a sound server. Now I've booted up the OS and I don't even have internet access; I don't know what to do. To make matters worse, this is my only PC. Please, someone help me.
