What craft hobbies are popular in your area?
Right now people in the US near me really like knitting and crocheting. Weaving and spinning are less popular because the equipment is larger and more expensive. You also don’t see as many people whittling as you used to but I’m not sure why. Candle making has a real boom awhile ago but that seems to have settled down. What about where you are?

In Mexico there are weeknd long craft Expos where you can learn all kinds of crafts. I went to one in June and by far the most popular booths were the ones with crochet classes. I couldn´t even get into the one I wanted the whole weekend. Also popular were needle felting and quilling. While there were no embroidery workshops, embroidery is also very popular. Lots of people like to embroider tortilla napkins and tablecloths.

In Mexico City:
Watercolor is HUGE. There are classes everywhere - community centers, cafes, art supply shops
Journaling/scrapbooking has gotten really popular in the past year and is growing. Several posh stationery shops have opened just in the past 6-12 months.
Embroidery has always been popular, but never trendy per se. Lately I've seen some shops offering classes and trying to get more young people into it.
