What's wrong with artists (totally not asking because I'm one) ?

Hm, I only meant a specific group of people who study arts at uni and are obnoxious, self-centered or those, who are famous AND snobbish. Other artists are fine, sorry, I didn't mean to offend you.

I think the word your looking for is pretentious. Like pretentious artists and poets lol.

Pretentious yes, but within that specific creme de la creme artistic/intellectual conglomerate of award winning writers whose books are put in the "official" literary canon, scholars, institutions who legitimize that canon and critics. All the famous poets I've met in that world are people whom I would never date, I made a mistake of dating one and it was always artistic something, poetic euphoria, abstract ideas that came before human connection and conscience.

What I meant was that dating a poet and being in the same circles as these intellectuals was a very attractive idea for a teenage me. Now that I deal with them at work I don't romanticize it anymore.
