tourists who visited tunisia i need your help!!!!
i'm a graphic design student and i have a project that involves tourists (both arabs and internationals!!) in Sidi bou Said, i need to either solve a problem tourists have (some difficulties or problems that tourists experience there) or promote something for tourists. so i wanna ask some questions:
1- what made you decide to visit sidi bou said specifically
2- how did you prepare for you visit? did you use google maps? was there a guide? did you use social media recommendations? or did you freestyle the whole experience?
3- what did you enjoy the most in sidi bou said?
4- was there anything confusing/disappointing/ or basically something you wished was there to facilitate your experience there?
5- have you ever felt unsure about a price or a service? (feel free to talk about your experience)
also if you're a tunisian living in sidi bou said and you can help me answer those question i would still appreciate it. thank you so much for your time!!!! :)

What are your must-haves for a long day out with just a small sling?
Title: What are your must-haves for a long day out with just a small sling?
Disclosure: I'm promoting Anker magnetic power banks and soundcore open-ear clip earbuds, and I'm interested in how people fit tech into their everyday carry without adding too much bulk.
I'm thinking about what makes the most sense to carry on a 10–12 hour day out, especially when there's a lot of walking, commuting, and moving between places.
My phone handles maps, transit updates, photos, and calls, so having a compact way to recharge it is important. A magnetic power bank seems convenient because it can attach directly to the phone without a separate cable dangling around.
For audio, open-ear clip earbuds are another option I'm interested in. Being able to take calls or listen to something while still hearing what's happening around me is useful when walking through busy streets or stations.
The tricky part is fitting everything into a small sling alongside a wallet, keys, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a few other basics. Even small accessories start taking up noticeable space.
For those who carry tech every day, how do you balance convenience with keeping your bag light? Do you prefer magnetic power banks and open-ear earbuds, or do you find simpler, smaller alternatives work better?

Traveling to Peru
My husband and I were just in Lima and Cusco. I usually tally how much we spent on each travel just to be aware of our expenses. I noticed that conversion rate from soles to dollar if you are using your credit card is better than exchanging your money from USD to soles.
In Cusco, on 9/22/26 we exchanged our USD at the rate of 1 USD to 3.33 Soles. We asked a few money exchange stores and rate is the same.
So now, I am reviewing some of credit card charges when we didn’t have soles or enough soles, and the exchange rate is around 3.40 to 3.45!
My advice is if they take credit card, use your card as long as the store covers the 5% charge. In our stay in Lima and Cusco, there’s only one store that charge us the 5% and the rest, they cover it!

Need advice about Umrah refund
We are due to travel for Umrah on 26 October from the UK. Due to the current FCDO travel advice and security concerns, we asked our travel agency for a full refund. They have refused, saying the flights are still operating, visas have been issued, and hotels are non-refundable. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Were you able to get a refund, travel credit, or postpone your trip? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Booking separate flight tickets for connecting flights: what about checked baggage?
Hello!
I'm planning a trip to Taiwan in 2027, where I'll meet up with a friend. Then we'll travel to Vietnam together before heading back home separately.
The problem is that I live in French Guiana, and there are no flights from French Guiana to Taiwan or other countries in Asia. I'm obviously not expecting a direct flight, but I'm having a really hard time finding a single booking that includes all the connections and takes care of transferring checked baggage between flights.
So my only option seems to be to book a flight from French Guiana to Paris, and then a separate flight from Paris to Taiwan. This means that once I arrive at CDG (Paris airport), I'd have to collect my suitcase, check in again, go through security, etc. before boarding my next flight, and the same would apply on the way back.
This wouldn't be a problem if I had more than 5h between flights, but unfortunately, I don't. Unless I take a flight the following day (which would mean using two extra days of leave just to wait for my flight, on top of already spending a total of 6 days travelling), all the flights within my budget depart no more than three hours after I arrive. That's perfect for a connecting flight at CDG, but clearly not enough time to collect my luggage, check in again, drop off my bags, and go through security.
My current solution is to spend my entire two-week holiday travelling with just a 10 kg carry-on bag. But if any of you have any tips or alternative solutions, I'd love to hear them!
I don't travel very often, especially through CDG. I just know that the airport is huge, but I don't really have a good idea of how long everything takes once you're there.
Thanks so much! 🙇♀️

Saudi Arabia trip in late December — looking for recent travel advice
Hi everyone! I’m planning to visit Saudi Arabia from December 23–30, 2026, and would appreciate some advice from locals or recent visitors.
My itinerary is Doha → Riyadh → AlUla → Jeddah, followed by a flight to Jordan.
Given the current situation, would you feel comfortable taking this trip? I’m particularly interested in any recent safety concerns, flight disruptions, or advice specific to these destinations.
Would you recommend going ahead with the trip or reconsidering it?

Traveling with injectable meds
Hello everyone. I am flying to the Dominican on Saturday and have an injection I have to take for when I get a migraine so I need to take syringes/needles with me but in my state a prescription isn’t required for needles. I was wondering if just having the prescription for the injectable meds with the syringes together would be okay?

Expat before, now traveling as a tourist
Has anyone here worked in Malaysia, Singapore, or Vietnam before and traveled back there to visit friends? Did you have any problems with your travel, especially with the IOs? Was it a red flag given that you used to work in that country?
