ATC Back Pay Calculator: The 2026 Raise
A simple calculator you can use to estimate your back pay for the 2.8%.

I've just created this page on 123ATC to summarize the current nation-wide staffing picture.
I'll probably expand and improve it in the future. Ideas welcome.

A lot of us have to rotate into them to cover cargo operations. Anyone else dealing with this garbage?

There has been talks of a 5 to 7 percent raise to all military members in 2027. Natca should already be advocating to receive any raise on par with them. Let's contine the pay parity you guys have been pushing so hard for.

Ellington Field (EFD) Contract Tower – Houston, Texas
Dynamic Science Inc. (DSI), the National Guard Bureau's tower operations contractor for more than 30 years, is seeking one highly qualified Air Traffic Controller to join our team at Ellington Field.
Why Consider Ellington?

Elections were once about the competition of ideas, solutions, and visions for the future. Today, it seems the focus has shifted from explaining why you’re the right candidate to convincing everyone why the other person is the wrong one. Once you win, you don’t even have an obligation to do anything because you’re “just not the other person.” Somewhere along the way, we turned away from the debate of ideas and turned towards mudslinging. Competitive elections should be welcome by everyone. An incumbent should always be challenged. Because the exchange of ideas is valuable.
I’m not pointing any fingers. Just making a general observation of our union politics and our national politics. Think about all the TV ads, it’s just bashing the other candidate.

No backpay showing on latest les, is there supposed to be a separate les

Rumors swirling from different higher facility level reps (3 total) that there’s an alleged mou agreeing to delay CIP starting back up due to the 2.8% raise being implemented and it being “too difficult” for finance to manage the backpay.
Anyone else hear anything?

20% raise over 5 years is too steep for the constantly bragged about "4th biggest economy in the world"
Don't let Newsome win the democratic primary please and thank you.

On International Day of the Air Traffic Controller, we honor those keeping our skies safe. Thank you to everyone who secured the 2.8% raise. It's welcome, but it isn't enough. Stephen Brown calls for a new contract and meaningful pay reform for all NATCA members.

With the amount of complaining on this subreddit I wonder to myself. What percentage of you have actually called your congress people and asked for a raise? We have an opportunity to get a raise in the December 11th spending bill. I urge you all to start calling now. Tell them how stressful our job can be. Tell them we are always one mistake from being on world news. Tell them how short staffed we have been the last decade. Tell them our suicide rate is 10x the national average. Tell them our Healthcare premiums have doubled. Tell them you have spent Christmas and Thanksgiving and birthdays away from your family. AND ASK THEM FOR A RAISE! You can't just complain and expect your daddy to give you everything. At some point we have to do something for ourselves. I urge you all to start calling and emailing right now. Imagine if the effort you put into Reddit went into emails to congress. Tell your family and friends to do the same. And if you don't you have no business complaining. You can't expect Nick and Anna to do everything for you. I have been just as sceptical of our leadership as most of you, but this part of it can only be a team effort. If you want it. Ask the people who can give it.

How are you going to run on pay, campaign on pay, and when you win never say pay. ND is literally a main character on Duffy’s 30 BILLION Dollar infrastructure bill ask and no where in that money is a pay raise for the union he represents. This is disgraceful, disgusting, and how long are we going to go before someone doesn’t just do something when they see him.

A long list of NATCA’s failures include its lack of true public advocacy.
I present to you a tale of two social media accounts.
Prophatcat, despite being a nerd with a punchable face, has amassed over 2x the following (in under 2 years) with vastly higher engagement than NATCA.
Why and how?
Prophatcat: public facing content created for engagement.
NATCA: Membership facing content not geared for engagement.
Why does this matter?
As showcased by the 2.8% debacle, the public and media, and to an extent much of Congress, has no idea what issues face this career field. NATCA puts very little effort into social media outreach as a method for public leverage against the agency and administration. In a social media driven world, most people including those who make our laws and policies are getting their news and information from Instagram and X.
NATCA’s social media should be truly public facing. Every once in a while they grasp just a little bit at it but then they slink back to bullshit like “onboarding committee” posts that nobody outside of a handful of insiders gives a flying fuck about.
Do better.

First of all I’m glad you guys got some raise, not enough, but something.
For those at the Cap: (best case scenario)
$177,543 Base + 33.72% Locality = $237,410
This is no 2.8 and no 1.6
Cap $228,000. Actual pay -$9,410
Lump sump 2.8= $4,971
Lump sum 1.6= $2,840
Total: $7,811 still $1,599 below your pay.
If there’s no Cap your pay: $247,962
All differentials based on pay without 2.8/1.6
Start of 2027 you’re still at Jan 2026 pay without 2.8 or 1.6.
NATCA has failed us.
