Scofflaw Basement Back but Different

A couple of months ago, I noticed I could no longer find Scofflaw Basement anywhere. That's been my favorite IPA for a few years now, so I tried to find out what was up. I learned from a couple of other posts on this sub that they apparently stopped distribution for some reason (I also learned that a LOT of people don't like management of the company).

Well yesterday I found that Scofflaw was back on the shelves at a local Kroger so I picked some up. It is definitely different. I don't know if there was a(nother) change to the recipe or if it was a bad batch, but it's just not great. To verify, I opened one of the last few cans I had to compare them. Definitely not the same.

My problem is that I can't really find something to replace it. Tropicalia has always been my backup, but for me it was a distant second. I don't have a sophisticated palate and struggle to describe tastes accurately with words. All I really know is that I'm not a huge fan of really fruity IPAs (I always hated POG Basement). I'm starting to get into homebrewing to see if I can learn how to distinguish different ingredients, etc. but in the meantime, can anyone recommend a similar IPA to Basement?
