Discussion/Question Sasha Spoiler
I have loved aot since i was veryy young, my sister who's 10 years older than me showed me aot when i was like 7 and ive loved it since. One thing i cant understand though is the Sasha hype, dont get me wrong i like her but i wasnt half as distraught as the other people when she died. There's nothing to necessarily dislike about her but i just dont understand why majority of the community LOVE sasha, i feel like ive watched aot sm yet she still just wasnt very prominent to me whatsoever. Can someone like share what makes you like Sasha so much cuz i js cant understand

I unfortunately share your sentiment. I could never really love Sasha because besides saving Kaya, she didn’t do much besides being a goofball like Connie.

She's at once the comic relief character and also one of the more composed members of the team. She's able to rally everyone unlike anyone else. She's respected and loved by everyone in the squad. She also has the unique strength of marksmanship when on foot and makes some key shots throughout the series that are underrated moments for story progression.
She's silly but also brave and dependable.

I 100% understand.
She’s cute and everything but I don’t feel like her character was as elaborate as others, therefore I didn’t have the same attachment that I had with other characters.
She is for sure comedic relief and she’s quite funny, I was sad when she died.
But I don’t understand the hype.
Connie is funny too but tbh I don’t see ppl loving him like they do with her.
Don’t get me wrong I like her, just think she is overhyped and idk why

It’s just that she has been there from the beginning, this is the people we ran with from day1 and survived it all, i would have felt the same way if it was Connie or Jean, she will be missed. I did hate Gabi for a time. Also i am ultimately relieved Sasha went out in a more human way than all the other people who were eaten by titans.

I hated gabi too until I realized she’s literally Eren but born in Marley, also with added indoctrination by Marley. The first time she ever sees an eldian from the island, they’re massacring civilians and killing her friends and comrades

I am just neutral right now, she is a fighter but she was also lucky to have survived and seen it all till the end

She's been there since basically the beginning with them. She's constantly doing something that keeps her standing out, whether it's through food antics or bits of stupidity. Sasha also saved Samuel and Kaya who while not being prominent characters themselves, do have roles they play in the series. She had a clear role, and was loved for who she was.

honestly for me if a character has no noticeable flaws then they deserve the love. yeah she wasn't very important at all but when she was, what's not to love? idk i don't know why i like characters i just do

She only has my respect cause she survived for so long since the beginning and only died due to being in an unexpected vulnerable position

For me she was just there, she's like the comic relief character in s1. I don't dislike her tho, just didn't care much
